Chinese characters at rear on both sides engraved rather than stamped plus date o...moren right has appearance of "] [" rather than ") (" . 14 Groove bordered grips. Matching numbered 55 on receiver, trigger, bolt, hammer, follower & floorplate. 50-1000 Marked rear sight. Back of trigger guard wide & squared rather than tapered as on originals. Navy Arms import marked on underside of curve at front strap. Milled finish overall w/ blued bbl. / receiver. Frame has appearance of cold blue. In the white hammer, trigger, follower, lock housing & bolt. CONDITION: very good example of this item, yet bbl. has roughness that resembles finish over cleaned pitting. Grips have handling marks. Missing lanyard ring. Lack of definition & depth to concentric rings of hammer. Typical Chinese quality fit of floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: shoulder stock / holster w/ number "962" attachment iron. Good overall appearance w/ numerous handling marks; yet 2 long cracks on bottom starting at open end forward. Numerous handling marks & stains along w/ longitudinal sanding marks. Nice functioning lid. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ professional restoration. All markings sharp & clear w/out compromise to surfaces. Slight extra polish in recessed panels, yet overlapping circles still pronounced. Lanyard ring missing from loop on butt. Banner chamber marked receiver appears numbered 92,950 (par...moretially legible), bolt 435, hammer 950, bolt stop 259, lock housing 92950, floorplate 693 & 17 groove grips 909. 50-1000 rear sight & 5-1/2" bbl. Mauser legend on right side of frame plus banner on chamber. Right side of bbl. has portion of British proof remaining. Sm. ring hammer. CONDITION: Good refinished appearance, yet very polished to point where frame grooves almost eliminated & areas of prior deep pitting remain. Floor plate unfinished w/ brown tone. Lock housing w/ plum tone. Patina hammer. Unfinished bolt stop, bolt & extractor. Good grips w/ minor handling marks. Poor to fair bore; very worn w/ even light pitting. Matching numbers on lock housing, hammer, bolt & receiver. 5 1/2" Bbl. Crown U proofs. Grooved receiver rails. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1 good K98 bayonet w/ sheath & frog. Blued w/ 10" blade & fullers. Numbered "2695b" on one side near hilt, other side has "S/172.G". Light pitting & handling marks in grip area. Peppery oxidation on blade. Light pitting throughout scabbard. Well used frog w/ cut quarter way into strap. Capture paper listing German WWI Mauser pistol Serial No. 190917 to Harry F. Rush dated 10/18/45. Extra notation on form transferring ownership Nov. 20th 1945 from Rush to Cpl. Robert A. Crawshaw from Illinois, who enlisted 1942 at age of 21 (married) as General Officer after 1 year of college. Customs Declaration of Crawshaw (T/5 rank) listing P35 pistol, field glasses & bayonet; dated Oct. 18 1945. Pen & ink sketch (22" W x 18" H) signed by Crawshaw, dated Jan. 24 1945 plus "France". Depicts in foreground Mauser pistol, German helmet, Iron Cross, complete bayonet & cylindrical carry case (likely gas mask). Background contains portion of riveted assembled armored vehicle plus portion of lg. bbl. having muzzle brake. Document in very good condition w/ numerous spots outside of image on edge of sketch. 2 Sm. brown spots above helmet & 2 on canister. Stamped image of eagle swastika symbol on brown paper that was folded to pocket size. Eagle spread of 13 1/2"; total height of 9 1/4". Brown paper 13" x 17". Appears result of inking lg. stamp then put to paper. Circular area around swastika is splotchy, rest clear. Print in France dated June 6 1945 showing damaged & abandoned bunker w/ trees plus landscape in background. Light tears on right edge & evidence of short piece of cellophane tape on one tear. 17" H & 22" W. Sketch of damaged bunker w/ blown apart trees & partial vision of cross in sky among clouds. German helmet in foreground & muzzle of cannon protruding from bunker. Numerous pieces of cellophane tape on back as if to secure on glass. Dated July 27, 1944 in France. 8" H x 10" W. Colored sketch featuring brown, green & violet colors showing US cartridge belt & holster w/ pistol hanging on nail supporting mattress of top bunk. Also has backpack w/ handle of shovel. Near web belt are items of mess gear. Bottom of photo has can of peaches (?) & combat boots. Sketch originally 16" H x 21 1/2" W; attached to white paper giving 16 1/2" H x 21 1/2" W. Bottom portion of print suffered damage & loss; recreated on white paper below sketch. Sm. thumb print sized loss on right edge. Sm. tear & wrinkle through middle of print corresponding to bed post. Another 4" horizontal tear near bottom. Area of signature to sketch lost. Crawshaw's 2010 obituary indicated his railroad engineer career plus his notoriety as an artist. CONDITION: fair overall appearance of even light brown patina. Good to very good bore. Good appearing grips; not removable due to screw not releasing from threaded bushing. Lowe...morer left side of frame under grip has US serviceman "DUCKER" last name scratched; right has his SS number. Original black plastic Party Leader grips w/ eagle swastika on each side. Not reproductions w/ appropriate bonded metal insert at rear of base. Left bottom rear of slide has very sm. numbered eagle proofs; 3 unreadable digits. Lanyard loop at bottom of grip. MAGS: 2 Walther banner good worn 7 rd. mags. w/ push button bases & some faint peppery oxidation. Both have noticeable finish loss to spine, best appearing bodied mag. also has "PPK 7.65m/m". Mag. w/ more worn body has only banner & slight upward bend at front of base. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown police style flap holster w/ underside of flap having 2 slanted machine grooves to cut facilitate folding. Front mag. pouch plus belt loop to hold retaining strap. Single wide back belt loop. Quarter inch sized hole on back near top at front & on front by lower front corner of mag. pouch. Front of flap has decorative dbl. line border & carved "Lt. Howard Ducker" over service number of "o-468532". Very good appearing mag. pouch w/ cordovan toned color. Sound stitching throughout, but many handling marks & oiled appearance. Although holster fits & secures pistol; appears made for slightly larger lg. framed automatic. 23 July 1945 bring back paper stating Ducker gained possession of pistol in ETO before VE day. Form specifically lists pistol & Ducker as 1st Lt. Sig O 257th Sig radar maint unit comdg w/ his signature plus his initials by listed pistol. CONDITION: good to very good frame w/ finish loss on lower front of trigger guard & peppery oxidation at rear. Slide has noticeable wear & light oxidation on rear half plus on safety. (18-1568/NW). Another crack going though each escutcheon w/ left escutcheon askew. Slight gap at top front on right of grip. Front strap marked bottom up "S Op 139". MAGS: 1 poor oxidized 8 rd. mag., missing follower button. Near excellent unmarked wood base w/ concentric ringed dimples. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: repro. Navy shoulder stock w/ fire blued iron having light peppery oxidation & similar conditioned strawed lever. Good fit to frame. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: very good black 41 dated holsters by "blm" additionally marked "P.08" plus eagle swastika w/ waffen "788". Below dbl. belt loops stencil painted w/ most of numerals that appears to be "4695.2". Very good loading tool w/ eagle "655". CONDITION: very good grips w/ short vertical crack on right starting at grip screw; only visible on rear. No other numbered parts. Triple crown proofed receiver. Chamber dated 1916. Strawed ejector; all other components blued. MAGS: 1 very good blue extruded 8 rd. mag. unmarked w/ aluminum base renumbered to 5691. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction of extremely rare stock / holster. Estimated less than 50 originals. Very good overall appearance w/ poor wood to iron fit. Cap & base broken at bottom rear & repaired. No markings. Hinge retained w/ 4 screws rather than 6 like originals. Appropriate iron on left side w/ dbl. loops. Somewhat loose useable fit to pistol. CONDITION: poor to fair bore w/ noticeably worn rifling & heavy dark pitting in grooves. Commercially refinished w/ slight extra polish. Slight dishing of toggle pivot holes at rear of receiver. Scattered spots of prior pitting on bbl. & extremely faint number on bbl. Faint number on receiver plus chamber date. Generally good appearing grips; especially right. Left slight proud at front strap & chip by safety lever. Very loose safety lever; non functioning detents. Finish loss & noticeable wear / polishing at stock lug. Loss of sharpness at edges. Present but non functioning takedown lever detent spring. Crown N proof on bbl., front tog...moregle link & receiver w/ matching number on bbl. Swiss Cross in Sunburst over chamber. Components normally numbered, but items missing numbers are receiver, breech block, front toggle link, grip safety & grips. Matching numbers on takedown lever, trigger, side plate & rear toggle link. Extractor correctly "GELADEN" marked numbered 58 on underside. Under side of front toggle has "J" & underside of rear has "3". This model of Luger offered in "i" S# block & S# 87130-87150. Some models had Abercrombie & Fitch bbl. inscriptions. This model consisted of reworked surplus military Lugers w/ "GEISHERT" removed & often rebarreled; slight recessed area under lower safety position indicates this is one of those. MAGS: 1 good (stained) plated 8 rd. mag. w/ unmarked wood base having disks in dimples. CONDITION: very good overall appearance as refinished & reworked for export. Thinning on high points. Noticeably loose breech block / toggle pivot. Noticeable crack on left grip as seen from back; not seen from front. Safety bar, trigger, thumb safety, takedown lever, ejector, grip screws, mag. release & muzzle noticeably bright polished. Strawed items have golden appearance. Light peppery prior pitting in grip area. Left grip noticeably darker than right having hand wear to diamonds. Fair bore worn w/ dark pitting in grooves of bore. (18-2542/NW). CURIO. $900-1300.
