If you are looking for a pristine "Walking Out" uniform then this is not for you, but are looking for one that has "Been There", then this is it as this unit saw heavy combat on the Eastern front with heavy losses. You won''t find many reference to this tunic because of it's scarcity, but it is discussed in chapter three, pages 114-123 in "Uniforms of the Waffen-SS, volume 1 by Michael D. Beaver, with full color pictures showing the liner which is unique to M35's. The book published in 2002, states at the time there was only two examples known to exist. Consignor states that this blouse was purchased in England some years ago at a "Booth Sale", (swap meet) from a woman who stated her father brought it home from the war, and remained untouched. Very Scarce SS M35. All stitching passed the black light test.

Worn by a SS-Rottenfuhrer. (Corporal). Field-grey wool/rayon blend construction M35 ( M35 SS pattern liner) field blouse with a lay down collar, features a vertical, four button front closure with a single hook and eye positioned at the forward neckline and a hidden cloth loop, & bakelite button as well. Nice quality SS EM/NCO machine embroidered arm eagle with original hand stitching to the sleeve. Black wool NCO/EM collar tab machine embroidered weaved SS runes in silver/gray cotton threads, and Black wool SS-Rottenfuhrer rank tab with double tress. Black wool rank chevron with double silver tress hand stitched to sleeve. Bottle green Army collar tabs, slip-on with rayon lined tongue. Nice SS pattern M35 brown/gray cotton twill complete liner, two HBT (Herring Bone Tweed) support straps held in place through tunnels with 15 eyelets, Bandage pocket, any ink stamps have worn off. Correct three eyelets for belt support in front & back. The blouse has been slightly modified by removing the small hooks used to retain the outer support straps, and a fourth eyelet was added in the back for better support, thread is a different color the the original eyelets, done, no doubt by the owner. Buttons look to be original stitching with most of the green paint worn off. Rear of blouse shows the standard army field blouse cut, the formal SS (Rock) cut was removed in favor of practical combat considerations, correct. Well worn and used example with many tears, & fraying to pocket & cuff edges, there is a large tear above the chevron that has a hand stitched repair with tears and damage to the chevron, still has mud stains on the elbows, and elsewhere.

Original items. Rare, untouched, 10th Waffen-SS Frundsberg Division NCO/EM's black panzer wrap. SS pattern, black wool/rayon blend, waist length, double breasted panzer wrap tunic. Left front panel, with four hidden button holes, overlaps right front panel with four corresponding large black bakelite buttons. Upper right panel also has three small black bakelite buttons with corresponding button holes in the left lapel. Two small buttons are missing with one in in the inside pocket, along with a large button that has come loose. Two small buttons on the edge of the right panel. Single metal hook and eye at neck. Top button hole on the left lapel has an EK2 and Russian front ribbon. The front opening is vertical as opposed to the slightly diagonal opening of the army pattern tunic and the peak lapels are somewhat smaller then the army pattern lapels. Lower left breast with six horizontal thread loops for wear of three awards. Judging by the size I would guess top EK 1st class, bottom Panzer assault Badge, and Wound Badge. Lining has faint but readable ink stamped sizes on left panel, correct two belt support straps with hidden eyelets for belt hooks. Single piece back panel with two tapering darts near bottom edge. Of Note: The army pattern panzer wrap tunic had a two piece back panel with central vertical seam. Insignia on this tunic is fantastic and all original machine stitching. Insignia include NCO/EM machine embroidered weave runic collar tab, SS-Scharfuhrer (Staff Sargeant) collar tab, correct pink piped slip-on, rayon lined tongue, shoulder boards with SS-Scharfuhrer tress. NCO/EM machine embroidered sleeve eagle, machine sewn , and 10th Waffen SS division Frundsberg cuff title. The cuff title is torn & frayed, which is consistent with the operation in a tank, levers, sharp edges, etc. All original buttons and stitching. Lay down collar with the correct zig-zag reinforcement stitching to reverse. Black Panzer trousers, unmarked, believe Army as the watch pocket has flap where SS didn't. (Very common for the SS to use army stores), reinforced seat. Have seen heavy use, stained, many stitched repairs/patches, again consistent with operating in a tank, oil, grease, sharp edges. Consigner states these came together as a set, Has that 'been there, done that' look. Frundsberg saw heavy combat on the Eastern front, and fought the allied forces in Normandy, surrendering to the U.S. Army at the end of the war. All stitching passed the black light test.
