Inglis MK I* 'High Power' 9mm SN: OT8490

Lot # 206a (Sale Order: 266 of 984)

Canadian Inglis Hi Power that was manufactured in 1944-45. The British proofs on the right side of the gun indicate it was likely delivered to the British military. Faint 'Broad Arrow' on rear left slide. There are also "D FTR 62" markings on the left side of both the slide and frame. This indicates that the gun was reworked (FTR = Factory Thorough Repair) at RSAF Enfield in 1962. It was then that the barrel was likely replaced and numbered to match the rest of the gun. At the same time, it was probably given the additional British proof at the back left of the slide (typically seen with FTR guns). After the British military considered these obsolete, many of them were stored and ended up in the US. The gun is all matching and has retained about 95% of the parkerized finish with minor edge wear. No import mark. Ring hammer, fixed sights. Bore is very good/bright. Action is smooth/tight. No lanyard ring or shoulder stock slot. NRA Condition-Near Excellent. C&R Firearm.
