Berlin-Lubecker G.41 'duv 43' 8mm SN: 191b

Lot # 74 (Sale Order: 83 of 644)

Rifle. Semi-Automatic. 10-rd non- detachable box magazine. Gas-operated. gas trap/bolt action.21.5" barrel Hooded serrated ramp/blade, and tangent rear sights. Rear sight base machined for scope rails. Ultra rare and desirable Gewehr 41 WW2 rifle. Estimated production numbers vary, some up to 145,00, but it seems the accepted number by most collectors to be about 10,000. Used extensively on the Eastern front making their survival rate very low. This 1943 rifle was produced in its last year of production of the G41 before they were turned over fully to G43 production. It is thought that the highest serial number that duv 43 known is around 6500h, making this rifle a very early production. Left side of receiver stamped with large "G.41duv 43" followed by serial number "191b". Left front sight base stamped "191" with two correct Eagle/214 waffenamts. Rear sight is stamped with two Eagle/214 waffenamts. Top of bolt stamped with Eagle/Swastika proof, and Eagle 214 waffenamt. Bolt carrier has Eagle/214 Waffenamt of the left side, and "191" on the top front. Rear receiver stamped with Eagle/214 waffenamt, and "191". Waffenamt Eagle/214, and "191" stamped between the triggerguard and magazine. Safety latch stamped with waffenamt Eagle/214. Cone shaped gas trap at the muzzle is stamped "191". Stock stamped with two feint, unreadable waffenamts, and "191" on the underside of stock between the buttplate, and grip. Type 1 receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, gas cone, and action cover, internal parts that were mostly all machined. Finely blued, and polished. Correct wartime stamped triggerguard and box magazine. Stamped barrel bands, and stamped steel, cupped buttplate. Blonde wood stock with black phenolic resin handguard, a bakelite type plastic. Bore appears good with strong rifling, but somewhat dirty. All markings crisp and clear. Receiver markings highlighted in white. Action is crisp/tight. Original blued finish is about 98% with some minor scratches. Receiver is a blue/plum color. Wood is excellent, and has not be fooled it. Handguard is very good with minor scratches and handling wear. Buttplate is very good. Correct cleaning rod present. No import marks. Original WW2 K98 type cross-hatched brown leather sling with "SC" with pine tree stamped on the metal keeper, Schmole und Company, Manden. I believe it is safe to say this rifle is probably one of the best conditioned, un-fooled with G41's out there. NRA Condition-Near Excellent. C&R firearm.
