Imperial Japanese Navy issued pistol. Produced in limited quantities. Usage continued through the end of WW2. Produced by Tokyo Gas and Electric Company under Naval contract. "GTE" stamp in circle on the chamber. Model markings , "Type Nambu", on the right over the serial number. Imperial Japanese type A "Anchor" stamp to the rear of these stamps. Two "Kanji" stamps on the left side. "Army Type" Front triangle font sight, and tangent rear sights. Knurled bolt cover, serrated cocking piece. Left mounted guide rod. Grip safety on the fore strap. Fore strap is slotted to drop down the trigger group for disassembly. Lanyard swivel mounted on the rear of the fame. mismatched serial number 2806 on, bolt, and backside on cocking piece. Checkered, contoured grips. Japanese symbols carved/painted on the left grip panel. (Unreadable) Milled frame. Bore appears excellent/bright. Action is crisp/tight. Features a 22" barrel, Lawrence priming system, sling bar with ring, lever locking latch, blade front sight, no rear sight, steel butt plate, patch box in butt. Bore is good or better condition, showing pitting or fouling in grooves, rifling. Metal surfaces are uniformly brown patina over gray, with darker patina. Stock is fair to good condition, mostly solid with much denting and some small gouges, chip out of the stock by the right upper tang. Handguard is sound with numerous scratches/dings and a chip out of the bottom rear.. Marked "SHARPS PAT" / "SEPT 12TH 1848" on receiver left;(Feint, partially missing)"C SHARPS PAT / OCT 5th 1852" on right, "R.S. LAWRENCE PAT / APRIL 12TH, 1859" at tape primer, Barrel markings are very feint/unreadable. Two stars are carved into the right buttstock, feint, look period done. Missing one upper tang screw. Imman Meffert O/U Combo. Gun 9.3x72R/16 Ga.

SN: 58838. Meffert was a gunmaker from the Suhl region of Austria, in operation from 1839 until 1962, when it was absorbed into the communist East German gun makers cooperative. With a white beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear notch sights on the solid matte rib with an integral quick release scope base. The upper barrel is marked "IMMAN MEFFERT" on the right side and "SUHL" on the left. 27.75" barrels. The shotgun barrel has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and is choked full.. With standard pre-war German proofs on the underside of the barrels and frame. With an over lever box lock action, double triggers (front trigger is adjustable)lightly engraved action, lever. & tangs, and cocking indicators on tang. Mounted on a multi-point checkered straight grain walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a fluted grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece, sling swivels, Greener style manual safety inletted in left flat of wrist, and serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches. Matching serial numbers on lower tang, forearm metal, barrels, and receiver. Shotgun bore is bright with areas of pitting above the chamber, rifle bore looks good, strong rifling, needs cleaning, action is smooth with tight lock-up, receiver is mostly bin the white with traces of case colors, some flaking on the left side,blued barrels are about 90% with handling/edge wear. Wood is overall very good with minor scratches, there are some dents in the forearm, nothing serious. NRA Condition-Good. C&R Firearm.

Prior to World War II only 3,500 Model 70’s in .22 Hornet were made out of a total pre-war production of 50,000 rifles. This makes a .22 Hornet Model 70 a collector’s item. This rifle was manufactured in 1947. Push feed bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .22 Hornet, manufactured in New Haven, CT. Features a blued finish, 24" tapered barrel, with hooded post/bead front sight, and u-notch, adjustable rear sporting sight, drilled/tapped for scope. There is a three-position safety, chrome bolt, serrated trigger, internal box magazine with hinged floorplate marked 'Super Grade' and checkered walnut semi-pistol grip Monte Carlo stock with black grip cap, contrasting black forearm tip, a right handed cheek piece and factory red recoil pad.. The wood stock is checkered at the wrist and forearm. Rear sling swivel, and forward sling swivel studs. The high polish reblued finish is about 99% with a couple of very minor scratches, all markings are crisp/clear, action is smooth, the bore is overall very good/bright with strong rifling, there is a small area of light pitting about midway. High gloss finished stocks are excellent, factory hard rubber buttplate, 'Prince of Wales' style grip, checkered panels at the wrist & forearm, sling swivel on the forearm.
