B. Sturman Percussion .58 Cal NVSN

High quality muzzle loading percussion pistol with an approximate .58 caliber smooth bore, finely crafted by London gun maker Benjamin Sturman circa 1835-1867. Features fine floral scroll engraving with fish motif on the hammer, browned 6" heavy octagon barrel with damascus twist pattern & inlayed gold band, bead front sight, fixed rear sight with square notch, rounded trigger, knurled hammer spur, wood ram rod, iron furniture and figured wood stock with "WB' inscribed inlayed escutcheon, hand cut checkering, and German silver forend/grip caps. The lock is engraved "B. STURMAN", the top of the barrel is inscribed "LONDON" and bottom of the barrel is stamped with the London proof marks "[Crown]/GP" & "[Crown]/V". The barrel retains the majority of it's browned finish, the engraving remains sharp and traces of original bluing can be found in protected areas. Action is sound, the bore appears clear and the wood stock is good with blemishes, a couple losses & a missing barrel wedge escutcheon. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***Antique Firearm***

Features a blued finish, 3-3/16" ribbed barrel, round nickel silver front sight, 'v' notch rear sight cut into the cylinder latch, fluted seven-shot cylinder, knurled spur trigger, knurled hammer spur, fixed ejector rod under the barrel, and two-piece smooth walnut bird's head grips. Revolver shows traces of bright bluing with the majority of the metal surfaces bearing a dark brown patina. Action is crisp with some play in the lock-up, the bore is good, markings are present and the wood grips are good+ with finish loss. Condition is NRA Good to Very Good. ***Antique Firearm***
