Silver Belt Buckle by Navajo Artist Wilson Begay

Lot # 327a (Sale Order: 485 of 848)      

Wilson, and his wife Carol, have been making jewelry together since 1969. Wilson specializes in sand cast jewelry and signs his work "WB" with a hat symbol. He was taught by his grandfather Luke Begay. This belt buckle was sand cast and features two large pieces of turquoise. The buckle is 3-1/2" x 2-1/4".

Brown leather reigns, no visible markings on reigns or bits. Circa Indian Wars period 1880's. With some cracking, scratching, and wear to leather. Metal has some surface rust.
