Oil on Canvas by Andrew Berrick

Lot # 249 (Sale Order: 367 of 848)

Depicting cowboys and girls. Signed lower left. Image size 23-1/2" wide x 17-1/2" high. Ornate wood frame with gold wash details. 31" wide x 25-1/2" high. Born just after the depression and searching for ways to express his love of the west Andrew moved west from Chicago to paint the west, and all it stands for. Located in Las Vegas, he has captivated collectors and art lovers the world over with his moving real to life compositions of the cowboy way of life. Oil is favorite medium that he strokes on to the canvas that eventually pulls the viewer back in time and often makes one feel like their in the scene. A long time fan of western literature Andrews action packed originals were frequently on the cover of popular magazines such as the TRUE WEST, BADMAN, OLD WEST and FRONTIER TIMES in the 70s and 80s. His popularity soared as he won various honors and awards in art shows in Nevada and the west. His works reflect the dynamic emotions in scenes similar to Remington and Russel as his style is more "loose" and invites the viewers appreciation to supplement the true emotion of realism that his work represents. Never a member of elite Cowboy Artists of America, Andrews originals are among the sought after echelon of old time cowboy artists that stood out and alone as well.
