Early single action spur trigger 5 shot revolver with 2-1/2" octagon barrel. Nickel finish, smooth rosewood birds head grips and fixed sights. Side of frame engraved with the initials "F.W.H.". Good markings and good working action. Condition: Good to very good showing 80% original finish, light pitting throughout and grips are good with no loss. *Antique Firearm*

Distinctive Rosco Scott Belt Buckle

Lot # 52a (Sale Order: 80 of 848)      

Sterling Silver buckle by Navajo artist Rosco Scott. Rosco started out as a silversmith for Atkinson Trading Company and first used his hallmark in 1974. He is best known for his overlay work, especially his walking bear motif. The buckle has a 2" diameter and is accented with coral cluster work. A nice buckle for a lady.

German WWII Army Afrika Corps Officers Pith Helmet

The exterior is a green felt material and has a green leather chin strap. The brown leather sweat band is maker marked "RF 1942 56". These type of helmets were worn by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel army troops in Africa. Scarce.

English 1960's to 70's Period IXL Knife

With black stag handles and fine to near excellent condition. The knife measures 15" overall with 10" blade. No scabbard. A very high quality knife and one of a group that purportedly were discovered in England in the 1960's or 70's and were old stock then. Note shows eagle and American pride markings. Considered by many the best bowie knife maker.

(1) Entitled "Gen. Robt E. Lee at Fredericksburg, Dec 13, 1982". Depicts the Confederate Calvary. (1) Entitled "Stonewall Jackson, Bull Run, Aug 17, 1861". Depicting Confederate cavalry. (1) Entitled "Gen. J.E.B. Stuart's Raid around McClellan, June, 1862". Depicts confederate cavalry. Signed lower left corner. (1) Entitled "Gen. Pickett taking the order to charge from Gen. Longstreet, Gettysburg, July 3, 1863". All image sizes approx 9" x 12". A pre-eminent painter of Colonial domestic and social life, he is especially known for his accurate depictions of colonial dress, uniforms, customs and architecture. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 17, 1856, he graduated from Brooklyn High School, attended the Brooklyn Institute, Brooklyn Academy of Design, the National Academy of Design, and the Art Students League. Ogden began working at age 17 for Leslie's Illustrated Magazine as a staff artist and in 1881 he started working for Strobridge Lithography Company of Cincinnati from which he retired in 1932. The Quartermaster General of the U.S. under the authority of the Secretary of War commissioned Ogden to provide paintings of U.S. Army uniforms from pre-revolution to present times. Ogden provided the designs for the stained glass windows in the Valley Forge Memorial Chapel and authored the following books: Our Army for Boys; Boys Book of Famous Regiments; George Washington For Young People. In 1936 he willed his art work to the New York Historical Society. Harry Ogden died on June 15, 1936.
