Colt Single Action Army .41 Colt #134311

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 741)

Early & scarce antique single action revolver chambered in .41 Long Colt. Manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1890. Features a blued & case hardened finish, 4 3/4" barrel with two line address, blade front sight, v-notched rear sight, ejector rod with crescent head, fluted six-shot cylinder, three line patent markings on the frame, screw-in cylinder pin retainer, smooth thin trigger, bordered & underlined knurling on the hammer, and two-piece black checkered hard rubber grip with molded Rampant Colt insignias at the tops. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Other markings: “G” on the left side of the triggerguard and “M” on the front face of the cylinder. The barrel and ejector rod housing retain approximately 70% of what appears to be an old high quality refinish showing honest wear. The balance of the metal surfaces on the revolver has mostly turned to aged patina with some bright bluing and case colors retained in the protected areas. Action is crisp with four hammer clicks & very good lock-up, the bore is bright with good rifling & minimal pitting, the markings are good with exception of the barrel address which is 70% intact, and the hard rubber grips are good with the checking worn semi-smooth & several notches cut into the bottom of the left panel.Condition is NRA Good.***Antique Firearm***

The story passed down with the rifle is the original owner of the rifle was John Last Bull" Young of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in south eastern Montana.
