Hand engraved with Super Slam motif by master FN factory engraver, Louis Vrancken. The signed engraving includes bulino style, rams head & full bodied ram on the buttplate and three ram busts on the floorplate, all on bright metal surrounded by beautiful acanthus scroll. Configuration: Matte blued finish, 24" tapered barrel with sighting rib, ramped & hooded blade front sight, rear express sight with one standing & four folding leaves, double set triggers, three-position safety, polished bolt & extractor, butter-knife bolt handle, internal magazine with polished follower & hinged floorplate, case hardened trigger guard with a gold inlayed "JSW" monogram inside a gold inlayed [Diamond E] brand on the bow, sling swivels, and super fine borderless multi-point hand checkered highly figured walnut pistol grip shoulder stock by Bob Hooper with ebony forend cap, case hardened trapdoor grip cap with gold inlayed ram head, beaded right handed cheek piece & Neidner style steel cartridge trap buttplate. Mauser Kurz Action Sporter 8x51 SN: 49905

German bolt action rifle built on the rare "kurz" (short) action, chambered for 8x51mm, marked "HAGEN" and "H HALVERSCHEID" on barrel, marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N" on receiver. No import marks observed. Observed numbers match. Barrel is 20" long, half octagon and half round, with full length rib (appears to be integral) that forms front sight & ramp at muzzle and forms raised quarter rib at breech, front sling mount soldered to underside, small inlaid silver oval over breech. Rib has wavy anti-glare shape all along top flat. Rear sight is express style with one standing, one folding leaf, both with inlaid brass center lines. Action mounts bases for claw scope mount, turned down bolt handle, fancy hook shaped safety lever. Action and rear of barrel have limited scroll type engraving at edges and borders. Stock is European styled, approx 13-7/8" length of pull, with shallow cheek piece, flat plastic checkered buttplate, rear sling mount, checkering at wrist, raised oval side panels with checkering, splinter forend shape, schnabel tip. Oval shaped steel grip cap has inlaid brass plate (currently blank - for owner's initials). Scope rings are in the white, dull gray color steel. Mounts a Burris 4x scope with duplex style crosshair & clear view. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Metal finish is 85% slightly thinning blue with signs of use and handling, some small dents or scuffs, some graying at bottom metal. Wood is in very good condition with a small crack at top tang, and a slightly longer crack in same area that appears epoxy repaired. Right side of butt has a knot in the wood that has swollen over time and can be felt but is difficult to see. Several small dents to butt. Nimschke engraving. Configuration: Blued 30" barrel with quarter rib marked "45. EXPRESS. MADE BY. A.A. KELLOGG. NEW HAVEN CT." in gold, blade front sight with gold bead, early Lyman No 1 tang mounted peep sight, case hardened receiver with large gold inlayed "K"s in 'AAK' monograms on the side surrounded by scroll, gold plated brass sideplates with engraved game/hunting scenes including a deer running from a hunter on the left & bear on a ledge on the right, knurled trigger, automatic safety, finely hand checkered fancy Circassian walnut forend with ebony cap & brass furniture, and pistol grip shoulder stock with inlayed gold shield escutcheon and knurled steel buttplate with brass trapdoor. This rifle is believed to be the same rifle offered by Theodore Dexter in his First October List, in 1960. Configuration: finely engraved featuring a full bodied lion on the receiver ring & scroll engraving on most of the metal parts, blued finish with some case hardened small parts, 22" tapered barrel, barrel band with sling eye, ramped & hooded blade front sight with ivory bead, right side receiver mounted Lyman adjustable aperture sight, Lyman Alaskan 2.5x fixed power scope attached with Griffin & Howe single lever quick detach mount, finely knurled trigger, three-position safety, hand "jeweled" bolt with knurled swept back hand, internal box magazine with polished follower & hinged floorplate, Springfield 1903 receiver, and a richly figured European walnut pistol grip shoulder stock with horn forend tip, engraved diamond escutcheon inlayed in the forend surrounded by diamond ribboning in the multi-point checkering, signature arrowhead drop points, trapdoor grip cap, beaded right handed cheekpiece, swivel stud, blank shied escutcheon, knurled Niedner-style steel cartridge trap buttplate & 13 1/4" LOP. Rifle retains approximately 85% of it's original blued finish showing edge wear and thinning with heavy finish loss on the bottom metal from carrying. Features high polish blued finish, American Classic style stock, double set triggers, bent bolt handle with knob checkered top & bottom, three position safety, hinged floorplate with side throw lever release, tall "see-thru" scope mount that allows bolt throw & safety operation, 22" barrel. Fancy figured walnut stock shows fiddle on both sides, rubbed oil finish with fleur-de-lis inset checkered panels at sides of wrist & forend, pistol grip, ebony tip, left side (right handed) cheek piece with shadow line, sling swivel studs, 14" length of pull to forward trigger. Bottom metal, grip cap, and trap door buttplate are engraved with scrollwork and animals, attributed to Albin Obiltschnig: Rifle Ranch Diamond-E logo inlaid in gold near front action screw; antelope on triggerguard; bear on floorplate; big horn sheep on grip cap; deer on buttplate trap door. Engraved animals show silvery gray where metal is high, with darker gray recesses. The animals are bordered with gold inlay; areas outside the inlay are blued with floral scrolls, giving a two tone appearance to each piece. Bore is excellent. Bluing is 98% with light handling marks. Bolt body is bare metal. Stock is in excellent condition. Configuration: French greyed receive & hand detachable sidelocks embellished with English arabesques scroll engraving, relief cut oak leaf & acorn & relief cut game scenes including a pointer dog with five pheasants on the left side & a fox with five grouse on the right, original set of blued 28" 12/12 gauge barrels with fixed full/full chokes, matted sighting rib & double Kersten locks, white bead front sight, selective automatic ejectors, Miller single selective trigger, cocked indicators, sliding tang safety, sling swivels, three-piece fancy walnut forend with black tip, fine multi-point hand checkering & Deeley release on the bottom piece, and pistol grip shoulder stock with black grip cap, beaded right handed cheekpiece & serrated black buttplate. Both of the shotgun barrels are marked "Mahrholdt-Peterlongo" & "Innsbruck, Tyrol" and all five of the extra barrels have been proofed in Ferlach, Austria in the mid 1950's & are stamped "22" with no apparent serial numbers. It would appear that these were hand crafted in Austria 1953-1954 by the Mahrholdt-Peterlongo firm. The receiver has also been proofed for each barrel, three of which are consecutive numbers(20, 12 & .30-06). Also Includes correspondence between Jim Wilkinson & Martin Retting regarding the purchase of this set for $8,500.00 in 1975. The receiver & sidelocks retains nearly all of their French greyed finish showing some bright wear on the upper tang from the sliding safety, high point edge wear on the takedown lever and some scratches on the underside of the receiver. The original set of 12 gsuge barrels are retailer marked "W. GLASER - WAFFEN, ZURICH", have matching Germanic scroll engraving towards the breech and retain approximately 99%+ bluing showing little to no visible wear. Action is tight, the bores are pristine, markings are sharp and the glossy refinished wood stocks are fine. It would appear that these were hand crafted in Austria 1953-1954 by the Mahrholdt-Peterlongo firm. The receiver has also been proofed for each barrel, three of which are consecutive numbers(20, 12 & .30-06). Also Includes correspondence between Jim Wilkinson & Martin Retting regarding the purchase of this set for $8,500.00 in 1975. The receiver & sidelocks retains nearly all of their French greyed finish showing some bright wear on the upper tang from the sliding safety, high point edge wear on the takedown lever and some scratches on the underside of the receiver. The original set of 12 gsuge barrels are retailer marked "W. GLASER - WAFFEN, ZURICH", have matching Germanic scroll engraving towards the breech and retain approximately 99%+ bluing showing little to no visible wear. Action is tight, the bores are pristine, markings are sharp and the glossy refinished wood stocks are fine. Mauser Kurz Action Sporter .250 Sav Imp

SN: 98175 German bolt action rifle built on the rare "kurz" (short) action, chambered for .250 Savage Improved, marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N" on receiver and "MADE IN GERMANY" on floorplate. No other import marks observed. Observed numbers match. Barrel is 20" long, has ramp mounted blade front sight, with slots for hood. Action mounts 2 piece scope base, turned down bolt handle with flattened and checkered knob. Hinged floorplate has large lever type latch on bottom. Stock is European styled Mannlicher pattern, full length to muzzle, approx 13-7/8" length of pull, with steel forend cap, shallow cheek piece, steel buttplate with trap door and storage compartment, sling swivel studs, checkering at wrist and forend, steel grip cap. Mounts a Carl Zeiss (Jena) "Zielklein" scope with fine crosshair & clear view, marked "GERMANY" on left side. Scope is about 2.5x, has elevation adjustment turret, windage adjusts via screws at mounting base. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Metal finish is 90% blue with some thinning at areas on barrel, bare metal on edges at bottom metal, forend cap, front sight ramp, other sharp edges. Wood is in very good condition, with beautiful tiger stripe figure, checkering remains fairly sharp, with some small dents at forend and butt. SN 184318 Embellished and custom stocked bolt action sporting rifle attributed by the late Jim Wilkinson as being a Bob Owens custom rifle, with Albin Obiltschnig deep relief engraving. Features blued finish, American Classic style stock, bent bolt handle, three position safety, bottom lever floorplate release, approx 21" half round - half octagon barrel with integral rib, blade front sight, folding leaf rear sight, trigger marked "JAEGER", jewelled bolt body and extractor. Front scope mount is screw attached to barrel rib, rear is dovetail mounted into receiver bridge. Stock has glossy oil rubbed finish with checkered panels at sides of wrist & forend, pistol grip, contrasting forend tip (appears to be ebony), left side (right handed) cheek piece with shadow line, 12-1/8" length of pull. Has 3/4" sling swivels: forward mounted below barrel, rear mount at butt. Oak leaf and game animal engraving is found on bottom metal, grip cap, buttplate, bolt handle and scope rings; finish on engraved surfaces appears to be satin French Gray. Buttplate has full body ram on trap door; grip cap has a large stag deer; triggerguard bow has a head bust deer; floorplate has a standing bear. Bore is excellent. Finish is 95% with bare metal showing at muzzle, edges of barrel rib, other sharp edges. Highly figured walnut stock is in excellent condition with shallow scratches in several places.
