- The Classic Car Appraisal Service carefully examined this 1951 Studebaker Land Cruiser Commander 4-door sedan to prepare this car for auction. All information has been copied from their appraisal, received January 2023.
- Vehicle has been stored in a climate controlled museum. Vehicle starts and runs well.
- The odometer on this light blue exterior with blue cloth interior Studebaker shows 73,233 miles. Amenities include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: 232 cid/120 bhp V8 engine; automatic transmission; MPH, fuel, oil, and amp gauges; no radio; and exterior sun visor.
- MECHANICAL: It runs very well. We were told that the engine starts easily, the transmission and clutch work well, and the car is used every year. EXTERIOR: The exterior physical condition of this car?s sheet metal is very good, and all the body panels appear to be original to the car. There has been no rust repair in the body, and the lower doors, rockers and rear quarter panels all look very good. The car was repainted years ago in its original color. The weather stripping is original.INTERIOR: The seat upholstery and door panels are all original, and in very good condition. The door panels are not worn. The original headliner carpets are in very good condition. The dash looks good. The trunk interior is clean.ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine and engine compartment appears to be all original and in very good condition. It has most of its original paint, and there is very little corrosion or surface rust. The wiring is original, and in good condition.CHASSIS: The exhaust system is in good condition.HISTORICAL: The Studebaker Commander was produced for several years, representing several body style changes, and first appeared in the late 1920s. The company would continue to use the name until its demise in 1966. The Commander moved up-market in 1939 when Studebaker introduced the Champion model. After the Second World War, Studebaker dropped its President moniker and repositioned the Commander in its place. At the same time, Studebaker introduced an extended wheelbase model known as the Land Cruiser.

- I bought the VW Cabriolet new at Westside VW in St Louis Park, MN, and I've been the only owner of the car. It now shows 117,035 miles on its odometer.
- Always stored the car in heated garages.
- The car has never been involved in an accident.

- I have all the car?s maintenance records, as well as its original window sticker and sales brochure.
