Rear adjustable tangent sight and ramped hooded fiber optic front. Receiver features a 11mm dovetail for scopes. Bolt action with a 2 position safety and adjustable trigger. Detachable magazine holds up to 5 rounds of .22LR cartridges. Fitted with a stunning Turkish Circassian walnut Monte Carlo stock with right hand cheek piece and pistol grip palm swell. Checkered pistol grip and forearm with "CZ 457 PREMIUM" carved in the checkering. Schnabel decorative forend tip. Equipped with rubber recoil pad an swivel studs. Manufactured in the late 1970's by Weatherby. Features a 25" blued tapered, sightless barrel. Chambered for .25-06 Remington cartridge. Vanguard 2-lug bolt action with two-position safety. Equipped with a Redfield 3X-9X scope. Blued hinged floorplate and serrated trigger. Fitted with a one piece Monte Carlo walnut stock with right side cheek piece. Checkered flared pistol grip and checkered forearm. Forearm and pistol grip is capped with a white lined Rosewood and grip features a white diamond inlay. Fitted with a Weatherby brown rubber butt plate. Equipped with swivels and adjustable leather sling. LOP: 13-1/4". CONDITION: Retains 88% finish with some wear at the muzzle and small faded spots throughout. Stock shows a few light dings and scuffs. Light frost on the bore, rifling still very visible. Made in 1943. Remington Barrel is dated "9-43" under a flaming bomb. No import marks found. "R" marked bolt and various other parts. Crossed cannons cartouche on the left side of the stock. "FJA" cartouche on the left side of the stock. "RA" mark as well. "OG" arsenal cartouche on the left as well. Circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Arsenal parkerized finish and oiled wood stock. Checkered metal butt plate with trapdoor for cleaning kit (none inside). Includes attached green canvas sling (unmarked). CONDITION: Metal retains 98% finish with no handling marks. Wood is excellent. Bore is shiny with strong rifling (four groove). Mechanically fine. Sling is excellent. CALIBER: .30-06. S/N: 4006333. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.

Made early 1918. Barrel is Eddystone, dated "1-18" under a flaming bomb. No import marks found. Most parts are "E" marked, including the bolt. Stock has no visible stamps/rebuilt marks/cartouches, but was made by Eddystone. Original blade front sight and 1600 meter rear ladder. Military blued finish. Wood has been lightly sanded/oiled. Smooth metal butt plate with trapdoor for cleaning kit (none inside). Includes a P14 Enfield bayonet (British made) with scabbard. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% finish. Wood has light handling marks. Bore is lightly frosted, with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. Bayonet has light wear and handling marks. Blade has not been sharpened. Scabbard is good overall. CALIBER: .30-06. Hardwood faceted Arabic style stock with butt measuring 3" across and gun measuring 55" overall. Stock is decorated with brass floral decorations with decorated flint snaphance type lock and knob trigger. Comes with iron ramrod. CONDITION: Overall fair with excessive usage marks and heavy oxidation. Pitted bore with frozen mechanics. CALIBER: 80. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Highly Decorated Middle Eastern Flintlock .60 Caliber Rifle

Made in the late 18th or mid 19th centuries most likely in North Africa and used by the Bedouin Tribesmen. This highly decorated piece has a 39" round Damascus steel smooth bore barrel in .60 caliber. Gun is highly decorated with 9 engraved German silver barrel bands. Unusual Flint Snap-Hance lock with unique knob trigger. Hardwood faceted butt stock in Arabic style with approximately 19 silver engraved inlays (several missing). German silver sling swivel with steel lanyard ring and iron ramrod. Measures 52" overall. CONDITION: Overall rough from heavy use with tattered edges. Has oxidation with pitted bore and frozen mechanics. I would have loved to see this gun when first built! CALIBER: 60. FFL STATUS: Antique.

North Carolina Style Contemporary Flintlock Rifle by Louis Smith

Lot # 511 (Sale Order: 12 of 424)      

This highly decorated and artistic masterpiece was built by Louis Smith of Jonesboro, Tennessee who started in the trade in 1958 and is known for his exceptional engraving. Smith was influenced by Lester Smith (no relation) who was an associate of the legendary maker Hacker Martin. This rifle is featured on pages 288 and 289 of Robert Weil's 1980 book "Contemporary Makers of Muzzleloading Firearms". This rifle is stylized after North Carolina rifles made by Nathaniel Vogler of Salem, North Carolina circa 1825 to 1830. Rifle features a Douglas Octagon 44" rifled .45 caliber barrel with blade front sight and notch rear sight. Barrel is signed in script "Louis Smith" with floral engraving surrounding his name. Modern "Thomas Ketland" marked flintlock with waterproof pan with double set trigger control. Lock is held with Vogler style brass beveled edged side plate with silver serpent inlay with Genesis verse 3 :15 "The seed of woman hath raised the serpent's head" engraved upon it. Full curly maple stock with tight curl featuring brass and silver hardware with Vogler architecture and a 1-7/8" wide butt with 14" pull. Right butt stock has a 4 piece patch box with eight piercings with floral edge and engraved side plates. Silver Vogler style finial with silver eagle perched on a man's head. Left buttstock has silver federal eagle holding an arrow with silver scalloped plate with tube for touch hole pick below cheek piece. Stock has brass hardware with Hunter's star inlays at wrist and in back of cheek piece. Wrist has silver shield with owner's initials "JE" in script. Brass 9 1/2" long engraved toe plate with 11 diamond piercings. Lock has carved beavertails to rear with raised dimple comb pattern and pronounced molding carving. Flat barrel keys with floral engraved brass stock escutcheon plates. Comes with gunsmith made hardwood brass tipped ramrod. Gun is housed in soft leather Plains Indian style fringe case with beadwork made by unknown craftsman. Rifle measures 60" overall. A spectacular work of art and craftsmanship. CONDITION: Overall excellent and possibly test fired only with small handling marks. Case in excellent condition CALIBER: 45. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Made by Louis Smith from Jonesboro, Tennessee, who started to make rifles in 1958. Smith was influenced by Lester Smith(no relation) who was a friend and contemporary of Hacker Martin. This rifle is made in the style of several makers with architecture resembling a Franklin/ Emmitsburg School Rifles. Rifle has 44-3/4" octagon smooth bore .45 caliber Douglas Barrel with German silver blade front sight with notch rear sight with "Louis Smith" signature in script. Smith was notorious for emulating other makers' styles with this rifle being some unique features of makers like Armstrong, Noll, Albright and Mewhirter. Unmarked English style flintlock with double set trigger control and brass side plate with engraved design similar to ones used by John Armstrong. Full curly maple stock with Franklin/ Emmitsburg stock profile. Maryland style 4 piece brass patch box with three piercings with Armstrong "Rams horn" lid engraving. Turned head bird finial similar to ones used by Noll, Shriver, and other makers. Stock is raised carved with a "Running deer" famously used on a rifle by Henry Albright. Stock also features floral raised carved flowers in front of patch box and cheek piece with raised carved beaver tails behind lock and side plate and floral pattern around tang. Stock has 14 silver engraved inlays including a federal eagle on the cheek and pierced comb piece. Brass engraved pierced saddle plate with faceted brass ramrod pipes. Comes with brass tipped hardwood ramrod and several cleaning jigs. Rifle is housed in soft leather plains Indian style fringe and beaded case from unknown maker. Gun measures 61" overall. CONDITION: Excellent and possibly test fired only with light handling marks. Excellent bore and mechanics. Case in excellent condition. CALIBER: 45. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Made for East India Company British Paget Cavalry Carbine Converted to Percussion

Made in England for the East India Company using earlier made parts. This carbine measures 31-1/2" overall and has a 15-3/4" round tapered smooth bore steel barrel in .70 caliber with blade front sight, folding notch rear sight with "Broad Arrow/S" mark at the breech and captured steel ramrod. Converted flintlock dated "1813" with EIC "Rampant Lion" and "Crown over VR" proofs; which puts this rifle in the time of Queen Victoria with "VR" meaning "Victoria Regina"; which dates this rifle after 1819. Rifle has a hardwood stock with illegible stamping at tang. The saddle ring bar has been removed. Stock has a unit marked brass buttplate marked "Q.O.R/W.Y.C./G/44" with brass trigger guard and brass single trumpet type ramrod pipe and nose cap. CONDITION: Overall good with metal showing oxidation. Pitted bore with functioning mechanics. CALIBER: 70. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Made in Belgium in 1866. These guns were made in this period to take out targets at extreme distances or larger threatening objects. Made to be fitted on a wall or rail with a pintle swivel. Gun has a massive "in the white" finished 39" round .75 caliber barrel with Whitworth Hexagon rifling. Fixed notch site and rear graduated site to 1200 yards. Barrel is marked with Belgium proof marks and "1866" date. Unique percussion action with "drop box" loading system making kind of a repeater if you have more than one drop box. Larger percussion back action lock with single trigger and large handle pistol grip for swiveling and holding gun. Walnut stock with disc cartouche that says made in "Belgium in 1866". Total weight is 33 lbs, 29 ounces. CONDITION: Overall good with metal showing some surface corrosion and areas of pitting. Wood has traces of varnish with good cartouches. Pitted bore with crisp mechanics. Overall gun is solid with probably more marks from storage than use. CALIBER: 75. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Antique Ohio Percussion Kentucky Rifle by William H. Brown

Made by William H. Brown of Dayton, OH, and later of Indiana. Brown worked from 1827 to 1850. The rifle measures 60"overall with a 43-1/2" octagon rifled .40 caliber barrel with rifle sights and stamped "W.H. Brown". The rifle has a Neff Brother's marked back action percussion lock with double set trigger control, Patent Breech ignition, and silver "flame" side plate. Full dark finish curly maple stock with brass hardware including a 4 piece patch box with three piercings and a finial often seen on rifles made in Western Ohio with a release in toe. The stock has flat barrel keys with clipped-edge escutcheon plates. A nicely executed right-hand scalp cheekpiece with silver oval cheek inlay and wrist checkering. CONDITION: Metal fading to a brown patina with light oxidation. Brass and silver remain unpolished with a tape mark on the patch box. The wood has a dark finish with no visible restoration and some nicks and scratches. There is a small 2" crack between the tang and lock. The checkering is worn flat. The rifle has good visible rifling with a dark appearance and strong mechanics. CALIBER: 40. FFL STATUS: Antique.

The rifle has a flintlock with "Parker, Field, & Co./1867" marking, a single trigger, and a brass serpent side plate. Hardwood full stock with large box steel trigger guard, brass buttplate and nose band, and carved beavertails behind locks with missing brass tack decorations. Replaced hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal shows corrosion and surface pitting with patina on brass parts. The side plate is missing part of the tale of the Serpent. Pitted bore with functioning mechanics and no visible restoration on wood. A nice example of a trade rifle. CALIBER: 62. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Last item is a copper buttstock flask measuring 5"with brass tip and no maker's markings. CONDITION: Overall good with mirror horn having a cracked mirror and a small wormhole near front staple. Military horn has a small crack near butt with cap mechanism needing some work. Flask has deep copper finish with small dent, good seams and top. Nice display pieces .

Engraved Custom 1915 Colt Government WWI RAF Contract 1911 w/ ACE .22 LR Conversion Kit

Manufactured in 1915 for the Royal Air Force, under Colt contract. The "W" prefix in front of the serial number designates this was originally chambered in the 455 Webley for the British. Birmingham proof marks on the right side of the frame under the serial number and one on the left side of the frame in front of the slide stop. Many of these Webley chambered 1911's were exported back to the US after WWI. Since then, this full size 1911 has been upgraded with an ACE .22LR conversion kit, professionally re-blued and exhibits approximately 75% engraved coverage. Floral scroll engraving adorns each area of the frame, slide and base of the magazine. Half-moon blade front sight and rear windage adjustable notch sight. Left side of the slide is stamped "COLT'S P.T.F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A./PAT'D APR. 20, 1897. SEPT. 9, 1902. DEC. 19, 1905. FEB 14, 1911. AUG. 19, 1913" with the rampant Colt at the rear of the slide. Right side slide is stamped "COLT ACE (in diamond) .22 LONG RIFLE". Right side frame is stamped "GOVERNMENT MODEL W 58128". Grip panels are hand-carved bone or ivory depicting a dragon and flower surrounding the screws. Period correct lanyard loop. Right side panel is inscribed on the back "F TIGERS/OD '37". Signed "BAB" under the left side grip panel at the base. Includes the Colt factory early ACE magazine, stamped "COLT ACE 22LR" on the base with matching scroll engraving. This pistol can definitely be described as a unicorn of many colors. Comes in a 1970's era Colt factory box. CONDITION: Finish retains 98%+ reapplied finish. Frame does show some very small areas of pitting under finish. Grips show light discoloration, a few stress lines underneath and some light wear in the once sharp areas of the bone carving. MFG CO. / HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.". Right side of the slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" with serial number stamped on the frame below the slide. Features period correct lanyard loop and diamond checkered walnut grip panels. Includes an 8 round two-tone magazine. Includes period correct US stamped leather holster, stamped on the back "1917 G.W.S.". A great edition to any Colt collection! An excellent example of an early 1911 US Army Issued Colt, manufactured in 1918. Lower six digit serial number. Features a 5" barrel, with period correct iron sights. Lef...moret side of the frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Left side of the slide is stamped "PATENTED APR.20 1897 SEPT, 9 1902 / DEC, 19 1905 FEB, 14 1911" and "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO. / HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.". Right side of the slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" with serial number stamped on the frame below the slide. Features period correct lanyard loop and diamond checkered walnut grip panels. Includes an 8 round two-tone magazine. Includes period correct US stamped leather holster, stamped on the back "1917 G.W.S.". A great edition to any Colt collection!
