1952 Colt Challenger Target .22 LR Semi-Automatic Pistol

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 349)      

Manufactured in 1952. Features a 6" blued barrel stamped "COLT'S MFG CO HARTFORD, CT USA" on the left side. Target blade front sight, rear fixed notch sight. Second series blued frame with the Colt logo and "CHALLENGER" stamped on the left side of the frame. Front and back of grip straps are a matte finish. Serrated slide is blued with a matte finish top, stamped on the left side "COLT AUTOMATIC CAL .22 LONG RIFLE". Factory Colt synthetic brown marbled checkered grip panels. Manual left side slide stop safety. Heel magazine release. Includes original factory 10 round magazine. CONDITION: Barrel retains 90% original blue with the most wear at the side panel near the slide. Frame and slide retain 95% original blue with faint handling wear. The grips are in good condition with a few dings in the top and bottom edges and a light scratch area above the checkering on the left side panel. Good bore and mechanics. CALIBER: .22 LR. Manufactured in 1960 by Astra Unceta for Colt contract. Features a 2.25" barrel, fixed blade and rear notch sight. Finish is a blued frame and slide. Left side of slide is stamped "JUNIOR COLT CAL .22" SHORT", right side stamped "Colt's Pt.F.A.Mfg Co Hartford, Ct USA". Right side of the frame is stamped behind the trigger "MADE IN SPAIN FOR COLT'S". Single action trigger and left side manual safety and grip magazine release. Colt factory walnut checkered grip panels. Slide serial number matches frame serial number. Overall dimensions: 4.4" long, 3.25" tall, and only 7/8" wide which makes it a favorable conceal carry. Includes factory Colt 7 round magazine with nickel plating. CONDITION: Frame and slide retain 45% original blue with most wear on the sides of the slide and on the grip areas. Early 1970's Colt Lord & Lady Derringer Set .22 Short in Presentation Box

Manufactured in the early 1970s. This Lord and Lady number 4 set is consecutively serial numbered 51124 and 51125. Both feature 2.5" single shot side swing out barrels, half moon front sights and spur triggers. Both stamped on top of the barrel "COLT", and left side "22 CAL SHORT/COLTS P.F.A. MFG CO INC/HTFD., CT, USA". The Lady is finished in a gold plate with pearl like acrylic grip panels. The Lord is finished with a black barrel, gold plated frame and smooth wood walnut grip panels. Set comes in a wood, red velveteen lined presentation case with the Colt brand on the top center lid. CONDITION: Lord retains 95% original finish with some light handling wear. The Lady retains 60% original finish, showing some oxidation. Muzzle has a tiny chip of the gold plate missing. Both show great bores and mechanics. Box shows some scratches and faint dings. Superior Grade Austrian Boxlock 16 Gauge Double Barrel Shotgun

Features 29.5" solid rib blued SxS barrels with single bead front sight, 2.5" chamber and automatic ejectors. Choked full and full. Barrels are stamped "Bohler Blitz Stahl" and marked on the rib with a retailer's name. Scroll engraving extends 1" on both sides of the barrel from the receiver. Barrels have typical European sling studs. Double triggers. Receiver is a boxlock design with blued sideplates, blued side clips and floorplate. Each side has extremely fine scroll and floral engraving with 60% coverage. Top of the receiver has 90% coverage with scroll and floral engraving with a superfine punch dot background. Bottom of the receiver matches the engraving on sideplates as well as the trigger guard. Buttstock and forend are straight grain walnut. English straight grip and splinter forearm are hand checkered at 22 LPI. Rear European sling stud. Buttstock is fitted with a basketweave hard rubber butt plate and German silver oval vanity plate. A superb lightweight side by side. LOP: 13.25". DAC: 1.5". DAH: 2.5". CONDITION: Barrels retain 85% original blue with light to moderate handling marks and scratches. Bores are excellent. Receiver retains 85% original blue. Non-blued sections retain traces of case hardening in protected areas. The remainder is a gray patina. Shows moderated field use but no oxidation. Both barrels are stamped "Prima Essen" approximately 3" from the receiver. Receiver is stamped with Austria Feralch proof marks. Bottom of barrel has typical European sling mount. Receiver is a typical scalloped boxlock with side clips featuring two rabbits on the right and a fox on the left, surrounded by floral and scroll engraving with punch dot background. Bottom is extensively covered with scroll, floral, and punch dot background engraving. Trigger guard features a rising duck with punch dot background. Double triggers. Top lever is also heavily engraved. Cocking indicators. Stock and splinter forend with Anson Deeley release are straight grain walnut. Forend and pistol grip are hand checkered at 18 LPI. Features a 28" blued steel ventilated rib barrel with single bead front sight and 3" chamber. Invector choked with full choke installed. Left side of barrel is manufacturer stamped "MADE IN BELGIUM - ASSEMBLED IN PORTUGAL", with the right side bearing the caliber designation. Both sides of the coin finish receiver feature engraved duck scenes within circle and line borders. Right side is engraved "DUCKS UNLIMITED" and the left side is engraved with "WETLANDS FOR AMERICA". Engraved artwork created by artist Terry Redlin and features his signature. Exceptionally nice figured walnut with checkered forearm and round knob stock. Fitted with a Browning factory recoil pad. Shotgun is accompanied by an original Ducks Unlimited hard case with foam lining. LOP: 14.5". DAC: 1.25". DAH: 1.75". CONDITION: Retains 98%+ finish. In like new condition. Antique 1860-1895 H.F. Palmer Half Stock 36 Caliber Remington Barrel Percussion Muzzleloader Rifle

Antique late 1800's featuring a 30" half round, half octagon Remington marked barrel. Approximately 36 caliber. Front sight is a milled bead sight, rear is an early style buckhorn with slide elevator sight. 3" from the end of the barrel is stamped "H.F. Palmer Adrian MI". H.F. Palmer was a rifle maker in Adrian, MI from 1860 to 1895. Engraved back-action percussion lock. Hammer screw has been replaced. Back action features adjustable double set triggers that are fully functional. Engraved German silver trigger guard with finger loops. Engraved Silver crescent buttplate. One piece walnut half stock. Stock features a two-piece German silver round patch box on the right side, along with nine German silver adornments ranging from dogs to hunter, deer and flowers. Buttplate, toeplate and tailpipe are all fitted of German silver. Nose cap is of pewter. Muzzleloading tube is a replaced fire-striped hickory. CONDITION: Barrel overall has brown patina with light pitting throughout with more toward the muzzle. Overall the action has a dark gray to brown patina appearance with only faint pitting. Trigger guard is in very good condition and the double set triggers function well. Buttstock has 20% original finish with very faint original checkering lines. Just forward of the percussion cap area is a 4" crack toward the muzzle. One stress crack on the right side of the tang. Two stress cracks from top of buttplate to patch box. Hickory ramrod appears to be a late replacement. Dark bore with functioning mechanics. CALIBER: 36 Caliber. S/N: N/A. FFL STATUS: Antique.

Antique featuring a 37.5" full octagon rifled barrel signed in script "C. Baum". Made by Charles Baum of the Upper Susquehanna Region circa 1830's. Front blade sight, and rear sight is blacksmith made buckhorn. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware including a four piece patch box with nine piercings and "Q" style finial. Brass comb piece and saddle plate. "Football" style side plate with two bolt flintlock controlled by double set trigger - appears to be original with a light engraving. Inlays include silver thumbpiece. Each side of the full stock has half moon silver heart wrist, inlays along barrel, 16 total. Brass cheek brass inlay, missing top half moon style inlay. Stock incised pattern carving behind cheek piece. Flint lock with double set trigger control. Period hickory ramrod. CONDITION: Overall has a brown patina with moderate oxidation. Forestock has been replaced. Small crack at toe of stock with carving starting to wear flat. Brass and silver inlay has been cleaned. Dark bore with good mechanics. CALIBER: 45 Caliber. S/N: N/A. Black anodized finish, direct striker hammer and break action lever in front of the trigger guard. Black Bakelite checkered synthetic grips and lanyard ring. CONDITION: Retains approximately 60% of the original finish. Does show deep scratches on the muzzle ends, and light scratches and scuffs throughout. Bores show scuffs but mechanics are good. Stamped on top of the barrel is "4" circled below German proof marks. Left side of the frame is stamped with the Luftwaffe contract number "FL244833" below the barrel, with the "ECKO" logo, "1937" and German eagle proof mark at the rear of the frame. Right side of the frame is stamped with serial number "3341". Manual thumb safety on the left side. Barrel selector lever at the rear center. Double side-by-side triggers. Brass break action lever in front of the trigger guard. Brown molded checkered synthetic grips. CONDITION: Retains approximately 65% of the original finish. This notorious Luger is made by DWM/Mauser Oberndorf in Germany. Produced between 1930 and 1934. The serial number matches all parts visible except the magazine. Features a 4" barrel with original blade and rear notch sights. "DWM" clearly inscribed on top of the toggle. "GESICHERT" (German for safety) is clearly inscribed under the left side safety lever. Original blued finish frame with lanyard loop and stock lug on the back strap. Original style wood checkered grip panels and wood base magazine. Includes period correct leather holster. CONDITION: Retains 70% finish with most wear around the muzzle and high edges of the receiver. Does show some spots of oxidation. Approximately 30% straw finish remaining on the reverse of mag release, trigger and toggle rail. Good bore and mechanics. Holster is missing the top cover strap and does show age wear.
