The left side of the frame is marked "D. GILL" in an oval surrounded by floral engraving and the right side is marked "LONDON" in an oval surrounded by the same design. The underside is marked with recessed "crown/GP" and "crown/V" proofmarks. Screw off barrel with geometric design engraving around the muzzle. The frame was casehardened, the folding trigger, frizzen spring and hammer safety are niter blue and the barrel silver plated. Fitted with a bag shaped, smooth one piece walnut grip.

Condition: Refinished. The frame shows a smooth artificial mottled gray patina on the balance. The small components retain half of the original bright niter blue finish. The barrel shows some pin prick sized blistering and remnants of silver. The grip is also very good with only a few minor dings and handling marks. The markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine.

Produced without sights, with the heavily ribbed barrel and chamber both numbered "13" on the left hand side, with a pair of crossed scepter proofs on the underside of the chamber. The lock, hammer and sliding safety are engraved, with "SOUTHALL" on the left side and "LONDON" on the right, surrounded by stands of flags and arms. Equipped with a flip up nipple protector, shaped as a flash pan and frizzen. One piece bag shaped grip, with checkering on back and bottom, and a silver inscription oval on the back.

The scroll engraved frame is marked "PARKINSON / DUBLIN" behind the fixed rear sight. The fish sculpted hammer is also scroll engraved. The over under smooth bore barrels rotate at the breech with each barrel having a bead front sight, a band of engraving at the muzzle and scrollwork on top of the breech plug. Note that there is one hammer with both barrels having their own percussion nipple. There is a single swivel iron ramrod mounted between the barrels. The underside of the frame has a percussion nipple shield and a folding trigger. One piece grip with extensive fine checkering, monogrammed German silver initial shield, and engraved buttcap with compartment.

Produced without sights, with a pair of decorative ribs in the center of the barrel and a small crowned monogram proof on the top flat. A dogs head is engraved on the side of the hammer, with the lock showing a scroll accented scene of a crane snatching a snake out of a tree and feathered designs on the frizzen and frizzen spring. The stock is made from very fancy maple wood, equipped with a brass tipped ramrod, floral engraved ramrod pipe, scrollwork and a grotesque face on the trigger guard, raised and pierced-through scroll reverse plate with a devil head design, raised carvings around the lock, tang and furniture, and an engraved brass buttplate. The layout of the grain shows an attractive tiger stripe pattern on the wrist and a cat's eye burl pattern on the butt.

Frizzen has been refaced, otherwise mechanically fine.

The Damascus barrel has a solid rib on the underside, "W: JEWELL." gold inlaid on the top near the breech, and a worn bead front sight with a silver inlaid diamond centered around the sight. The breech plug has a pair of gold inlaid bands. It has a swivel Forsythe style "scent bottle" pellet primed bolster and a fish sculpted hammer featuring a scroll engraving on the side. The upper tang has a floral engraving. The floral border engraved lock plate is faintly marked "W. JEWELL" with a bird game scene engraved behind the hammer. The straight grip half-stock has a checkered wrist, thumb shield, and a German silver forend cap.

Fitted with a ramped blade front sight, replacement "V" notch rear sight and a short range peep sight. The top of the barrel is silver inlaid "G. DIETZ IN KLEINSCHMALKALDEN". The lock, barrel tang and hammer are engraved with floral scroll designs and the hammer head is in a fish motif. Double set triggers and mounted with a full length straight grip walnut stock secured by three wedges with silver escutcheons, silver engraved left flat insets, silver buttplate, horn end cap and wooden patch box. The wrist and rear forearm area are checkered with a decorative border. The ramrod pipes and trigger guard are silver with floral and scroll engraved designs and decorative engraved finials. Sling swivels and wooden ramrod.

Condition: Very good. The barrel retains traces of the original brown finish with areas of smooth gray patina. The lock and hammer have a dark patina with some minor pitting. The silver components have a nice aged patina. About half of the silver inlay remains on the barrel marking. The stock is also very good with some scattered minor dings and dents. The checkering on the forearm shows moderate wear, while the wrist checkering remains crisp. The makers marking and the engraving both remain clear. Mechanically excellent.

Produced in Austria, this percussion cavalry carbine has no visible maker markings. Fixed sights, with saddle ring bar and ring on the left side of the stock, a museum or collector's number (B642) on the underside of stock in front of trigger and flat iron buttplate, and a smooth stock with cheekpiece. Many of these found their way into the American Civil War.

Produced without sights, with brass wire scrollwork on the top flats and a pair of deeply stamped proofs just ahead of the tang. A clamshell pattern is engraved into the drum style bolster, the lock plate is fitted with a swiveling nipple guard, and the plate is marked "C. YBARRA/ P" and "crown/ AR" ahead of the hammer and "1859/ 1643" behind. Smooth straight grip stock, with a wide brass barrel band, sling swivels and a flat buttplate.

The border engraved lock plate features a floral type engraving and is marked "Ls Tce Borel / A NEUCHATEL." Adjustable tang peep sight with a globe front sight missing the post. The Schuetzen buttplate and the spur trigger guard with finger grooves are also engraved. The side plate is a mythical winged creature with a fierce dog head and the breech plug has two gold inlaid bands. The full length stock has multi-point checkering on the forearm and wrist, a horn forend cap, sling swivels, three stock wedges, and a carved floral blossom on the left side. The buttstock has a raised cheekpiece on the left side and a shallow cheekpiece on the right side. Double set triggers, three iron ramrod pipes, and a wooden metal tipped ramrod.

The refinished stock is very good with a minor crack on the buttstock (left side) and a wood filled repair near the breech (left side), along with some very scattered minor handling marks. There is some wear in the overall crisp checkering. The action is frozen.

Engraved Klawitter Double Barrel Side by Side Percussion Shotgun From the Collection of Legendary Country Singer Johnny Cash

This percussion shotgun has the distinction of once belonging to legendary country singer Johnny Cash (February 26, 1932-September 12, 2003). Included are two letters and a photo of this shotgun signed by Johnny Cash attesting to the fact that this shotgun was indeed in his collection. A third letter signed by his secretary Kelly Hancock states that she was present and witnessed Cash sign the photo and letter. The shotgun has a single brass bead front sight on a solid rib with Damascus barrels. The fish sculpted hammers feature a scroll engraving and are equipped with hammer stops. The lock plates are engraved with field scenes with the left plate marked "HERZBERG" and the right plate marked "KLAWITTER". August Franz Klawitter (1824-1893) was the court gun maker for the king of Hannover. The scroll trigger guard is engraved with a rabbit in a field scene and the top of the frame has a dog grasping a bird. Smooth forearm and checkered straight grip stock with sling swivels and an iron buttplate marked "2004".

Fitted with a dovetailed blade front and notch rear sights, with provisions for a sight on top of the wrist. The lock is nicely engraved with deer in a forest scene and marked "E. BLANCKE IN NAUMBURG a/S." around the rear of the hammer. The hammer, barrel tang and breech plug are engraved with floral scroll designs and a maiden in a mountain scene is also engraved on the upper portion of the barrel tang. There are two gold inlaid bands around the breech end of the Damascus barrel. The upper hammer is decorated in a fish head motif. Brown barrel and casehardened remaining parts with a replacement decorative brass trigger guard. The rifle is equipped with a safety mounted just ahead of the hammer and double set triggers. The safety and screw are also engraved with scroll and floral designs. The rifle is mounted with a full one piece straight grip stock with a horn forend cap and buttplate, and patch box with sliding wooden lid decoratively carved. The wrist area has skip line checkering with floral designs and numerous small silver studs, and the forearm has a carved animals head with ebony and ivory eyes with the ramrod going into the animals mouth. The cheekpiece has floral scroll carving at the rear. The trigger guard plate has a decorative engraved finial. The stock is fitted with sling swivels and wooden ramrod.

The top flat of the rifled barrel is marked "H. LAUDENSCHLAGER". In Frank Sellers' book, "American Gunsmith," Henry Laudenslager is noted as a Pennsylvania gunsmith (note the spelling differences between Laudenslager in the book and Laudenschlager as marked on this gun). The rifled barrel gauges at approximately .44 percussion and the smoothbore barrel gauges at approximately 410 gauge. The lock plates have scroll engraving. Double set triggers and fixed sights on the rifled barrel. The crescent buttplate and spur trigger guard are brass. Curly maple straight grip stock with patch box. A dog and stag sculpted brass wall hanger with the hook bound in leather is included in this lot.

Fixed sights on a barrel marked "E.L. PANCOST" and "E.L. PANC" (rear sight slot removes the rest of the Pancost marking) on the top flat. In "AMERICAN GUNSMITHS," firearms expert Frank Sellers lists E.L. Pancost as working in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, circa 1861 and specializing in full stock percussion rifles. The ramrod pipes, trigger guard, patch box, forend cap and buttplate are silver plated brass. Double set triggers and mounted with a smooth full length stock fitted with a crescent buttplate.

Cased Blunt & Syms Medium Frame Under-Hammer Pepperbox Pistol with Unique Engraved German Silver Grips

This medium frame, double-action, six-shot, under-hammer, percussion pepperbox was sold by the firm of Orison Blunt and John G. Syms in New York City in the 1830-1850 period. The pistol has a blued barrel group, with deep flutes, frame and grip strap with casehardened ring trigger and bag-shaped two piece floral scroll engraved silver grips. The receiver is engraved with simple scroll and floral designs and the top of the frame is marked "BLUNT & SYMS / NEW YORK". There are no other visible markings on the gun. Complete in a wooden case with red velvet lining, a iron bullet mold, brass charger and key.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 60% of the original blue finish mixed with smooth brown patina. The very fine original grips have an attractively aged patina. There are a few minor chips on the inside and the lining shows some minor contact wear and soiling.

Ribbed six chamber barrel, marked "ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER" and "PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL" (faint) on the ribs. The left side of the bar hammer is marked "ALLEN'S PATENT" and the frame has broad leaf and scroll engraving, with floral engraved detachable nipple shield. The frame under the grip and each grip panel is marked "106", the hammer spring, inside of the trigger guard and breech end of the barrels is marked "10C". Blue barrels and shield and casehardened remaining parts. Complete with a partitioned wooden case with maroon velvet lining, which holds a leather wrapped brass flask, brass bullet mold, cleaning rod and about 15 round and conical lead bullets.

Condition: Very fine. The barrels have original blue with the balance a smooth brown patina. The nipple shield is a mix of 40% original bright blue finish and smooth brown patina. The hammer retains strong original case colors with the balance having a smooth brownish patina. The frame has a smooth mottled gray patina with some dark original case colors in protected areas. The grips are also very fine with 75% original varnish and a few minor dings and dents. The engraving is crisp. The action is excellent. The case is fine. The lining has faded , some of the partition walls have been repaired and there is some wear and fraying of the lining.

Made without sights, ring trigger and under hammer and fitted with two piece smooth ebony grips. Complete in a wooden case with silver initial plaque on the lid, maroon velvet lining, cardboard Braun & Braun cap container, bullet mold and brass flask.

Condition: Very good. The barrels have a smooth mottled gray patina with most of the Damascus pattern remaining. The frame has silvered out and the trigger and grip straps have a smooth gray patina. The grips are also very good with most of the original varnish and a few minor dings and dents. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The case is fine with some minor dings and scratches, and finish wear on the exterior. The lining is slightly faded and shows some minor contact wear. The flask is good, the unique mold is very fine with most of the blue.

The only visible markings are the numbers 1 through 4 marked on the breech ends of the barrels and corresponding number on the breech block. Damascus pattern barrels, floral scroll engraved frame and backstrap, made without sights, ring trigger with under hammer and fitted with smooth two piece walnut grips with engraved triangle shaped escutcheons. Complete in a wooden case with fitted green felt lining and key, a nickel oiler, Ely Bros. cap tin (partially full), iron bullet mold, cleaning rod, combination screwdriver/nipple wrench and silver plated "rifle butt" pattern powder flask.

Produced circa 1880s with total quantity estimated in the hundreds, with only some bearing the "MONARCH" marking. An eight shot, 22 caliber revolver, with a single shot 32 rimfire barrel resting below, doubling as the cylinder pin and a pivoting striker on the hammer. Blade front sight, with "MONARCH" on the latch. The barrel, latch and cylinder are engraved in zig zag and punch dot patterns, with the frame decorated with scroll designs. A gold wash is visible in the cylinder flutes. Checkered hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the barrel lug, cylinder and frame.

Produced in the 1890s. Rebated barrel with a band of floral engraving and the frame has a similar pattern around the edge, with the patent marking in a circle inside the checkered hard rubber panel. Side plate is checkered around the edge, marked with the address, twists off to reveal the magazine and is numbered to the gun. The lever is fitted with a hard rubber grip, checkered with diamond patterns.

Measuring 6 1/2" in overall length with the blade open, this pocketknife is of all-steel construction, with smooth side panels and a 2 3/4" clip point knife blade. Running alongside the folded blade with the pistol barrel, marked "PATENTED" on top, with the trigger on the underside. No other markings are present on this item. With a page from the publication "World of the 22.", author unknown, which features pictures of a near-identical pistol. Definitely of 20th Century manufacture, and subject to Curio and Relic handgun status.
