Manufactured circa 1955 with the standard markings and features. Has a beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. Mounted on a 17 groove flat bottom walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine, 98% of the original blue finish remains with some cycling wear and a few nicks and spots of freckling on the forward sides of receiver. The refinished wood is also very fine with a few scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

Desirable Pre-World War II Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle in Rare 250-3000 Savage

Manufactured in 1937 in the rare 250-3000 Savage caliber. Winchester introduced the 250-3000 Savage caliber in 1937 to its line of Model 70s before discontinuing the caliber in 1949. As Model 70 expert and author Dean Whitaker has noted, that of the approximately 135,000 units manufactured during the first thirteen years of Model 70 production, 250-3000 Savage chambered variations make up an "extremely small percentage." The barrel features a ramp front sight with provisions for a hood and a filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot with the rear barrel section tapped (4 holes) for scope/sight mounting. A Griffin & Howe scope mount has been added to the left side of the receiver. Standard markings including Winchester proof on the barrel and receiver. Polished bolt numbered to gun, pre-war safety (top has been shortened), cloverleaf receiver tang and leather sling. Checkered straight comb pistol stock with checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue on trigger guard). The rifle retains 85% original blue finish with some minor loss at the muzzle and a smooth brown patina on the floor plate and trigger guard. The buttplate is a smooth gray patina with minor pitting. The stock is fine with some minor handling marks and some wear in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Very fine. The carbine retains 85% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina (mostly on the buttplate). The refinished stock is very fine with a few very scattered mild handling marks and overall crisp re-cut checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Checkered high comb pistol grip stock with solid factory recoil pad.

Fine as partially refinished/customized. The rifle retains 98% original blue finish showing some loss at the muzzle with a few minor handling marks. The bolt and extractor have been custom jewelled with the bolt handle having been polished. The refinished stock is very good with a hairline crack near the receiver tang, a few minor handling marks and re-cut checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Manufactured in 1956. It has a hooded beaded blade front sight on a short crosshatched ramp and the rear dovetail has a scope block installed. There is also a scope block installed on the rear receiver bridge. There is a reproduction "USMC-SNIPER" marked Unertl 8x scope attached to the two scope blocks with Unertl style rings. Has after market recoil spring assembly. Has the late style safety and straight tang. Has a trigger shoe and a single shot adaptor on top of the standard follower. Mounted on a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with sling swivels, raised comb and a checkered aluminum buttplate and screw on lens caps.

Very fine, the barreled action retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered minor freckles and a few light handling marks. The floor plate has been covered in cold blue with some areas of wear. The stock is excellent with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The scope needs work with frozen front objective and no cross-hair reticle

A) Each of these Ultra Grade Model 70 rifles is chambered in a different caliber, which further enhances the rarity of this set. The Ultra Grade rifles were made to be sold as individual rifles and all production rifles were chambered in .270 Winchester. There were only a few of these sets ever manufactured and each of the eleven rifles in this set are chambered in a different desirable caliber. All rifles are consecutively serial numbered with a special "UG" serial number and all are signed "Bottega C. Giovanelli" on the top left of the receiver. This rifle features a barrel manufactured without sights. The right rear is marked "ULTRA SET" and the left side is marked with the standard two line Model 70 XTR marking. The top of the barrel at the breech end is marked with the Winchester oval proof. The receiver is engraved with a very fine floral scroll pattern with gold inlaid border accents. The left receiver wall has gold inlaid "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-" and the right front of the receiver has the serial number "UG 967" in gold. The floor plate, trigger guard and grip cap are engraved with the same floral scroll design, as well as a big horn ram in the center of the floor plate with gold bordering. The top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. Jeweled bolt and follower, with floral scroll engraving on the bolt handle. Mounted with an attractively figured American black walnut stock, fancy bordered checkered forearm with Schnabel forend, and pistol grip with engraved grip cap, solid rubber Winchester recoil pad and sling swivel studs. Complete with the original box and shipping box with matching end labels that read "Model 70 Modified ULTRA featherweight/BOLT ACTION RIFLE 222 REMINGTON 22" BARREL" over the Winchester and U.S. Repeating Arms Co. addresses. Each rifle in this lot is also accompanied by a letter from Winchester. The letter congratulates the buyer on selecting the Model 70 which is part of a unique set of 11 rifles consecutively serial numbered, chambered in 11 different calibers and known as the "ULTRA SET". A letter explains that the work was done in the Model 21 Custom Shop, that the components of this model have been custom fitted and finished by hand and that the Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Ultra Grade 1 of 1000 barrel was replaced with a standard barrel in a specific caliber. The letter tells of the markings and it authenticates the caliber, serial number and completion date. The completion date for this rifle is February 7, 1985. The letter is signed by Winchester President and CEO Richard M. Pelton.

The barrel is marked with the "WS-1" choke marking and with the "2 3/4 CHAM." marking. The proofmarks are stamped slightly to the left of the vent rib. Mounted on a nicely figured, diamond pattern checkered extended forearm and pistol grip stock with steel grip cap an checkered plastic buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches.

This example was manufactured in 1954 and was subsequently embellished by "N. Hartliep". The left side shows a gold inlaid dog pointing at two gold inlaid grouse taking flight in a field scene with floral scroll engraving surrounding it. The right side shows four gold inlaid ducks taking flight from a marsh with floral scroll surrounding it. There are wedges of floral scroll on the breech end of the barrel with flourishes of floral scroll at the muzzle end, on the barrel band, on the takedown ring, on the trigger guard, on the shell lifter and on the breechblock. The proofmarks are stamped to the left of the two pin duckbill vent rib which has two white bead sights. The barrel is choked full and has a 2 3/4 inch chamber. Mounted on a beautifully figured, diamond pattern checkered extended walnut forearm and weighted pistol grip stock with engraved German silver grip cap and Pachmayr recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches.

Excellent as custom embellished, 98% of the high quality blue finish remains with a few minor scratches, some minor discoloration at the front left of the receiver and some minor cycling wear. Nearly all of the gold inlay remains. The rib is slightly loose at the breech end. The wood is good with some scratches, dings and a few long hairline cracks that run along the grain. Mechanically fine.

Winchester Model 1897 Two Barrel Matching Number Set Slide Action Shotgun

Manufactured in 1924. The matching serialized 32 inch barrel has a single steel bead sight, is choked full and has a 2 3/4 inch chamber. The 28 inch barrel has a single steel bead sight, is choked cylinder and has a 2 3/4 inch chamber. Mounted on a round grooved walnut forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches. With a canvas takedown softcase that holds both barrels and a four piece wooden cleaning rod.

Fine, the 28 inch barrel assembly retains 85% of the original blue finish with some scattered scratches, dings and cycling wear. The 32 inch barrel assembly retains 75% of the thinning original blue finish with scattered scratches, dings and cycling wear along with some areas of brown patina. The receiver retains 90% of the original blue finish with scratches and high edge wear. The lightly sanded wood is very good with some scattered minor scratches and dings along with the buttstock refinished. Mechanically fine. The case is good with wear, stains and repairs.

Bead front and notch rear sights, with the 4-line Marbles address on the left side of the breech and "UPPER BARREL 22 S.L.LR. & N.R.A./LOWER BARREL 410 GA. 2 1/2"" on the left. Fitted with a serrated hammer with mobile striker, ribbed brown plastic grips, and a nickel finished folding buttstock with a length of pull of 14 inches.

Excellent, with 99% of the original blue finish, showing some light handling marks and a small amount of spotting. The stock shows a few minor scuffs, but is otherwise excellent, and there is a small amount of play in the grips. Mechanically excellent. Manufactured in 1956. The barrel has two steel bead sights on the donut post vent rib, the choke gauges light full and has a 3 inch chamber. The proofmarks on the receiver and barrel are slightly offset to the left. Mounted on a 14 groove round walnut forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with red rubber Winchester recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Excellent, 90% plus of the original blue finish remains with some high edge and cycling wear along with scattered light scratches. The wood is also excellent with light scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Winchester Model 12 Pigeon Grade Slide Action Skeet Shotgun

This shotgun was manufactured in 1956. There is a red bead front sight and a white mid bead sight on the two pin duck bill vent rib, the choke marking is "WS-1" and the chamber is 2 3/4 inches. The proofmarks are stamped to the left of the rib, there is a pigeon engraved on the takedown collar and the breechblock and shell lifter are engine turned. Mounted on a nicely figured, diamond pattern checkered extended walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a steel grip cap and Pachmayr recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches with spacers.

Excellent, 90% plus of the original blue finish remains with some high edge and cycling wear along with some scattered minor dings and scratches. The revarnished wood is very good with repaired cracks at the wrist along with some scattered minor scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.

Mounted on a grooved round walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Very fine, 85% of the original blue finish remains with cycling and takedown wear along with some high edge wear and some scattered minor scratches and light dings. The wood is very good as refinished with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
