This rifle was actually produced on the same exact manufacturing line as their military counterpart using the same military grade factory original parts. Although the receiver is marked "M16" on the magazine well, it is actually an M16A1 configuration that has the late features such as the forward assist on the right side, improved buttstock with the trap compartment for the cleaning equipment, closed flash hider and a chrome lined bore with the standard 1-12 twist. The receiver is roll stamped "COLT M16/CAL. 5.56mm. 5096764"; farther back it is marked "COLT FIREARMS DIVISION/COLT INDUSTRIES/HARTFORD CONN." along with the standard "SAFE/SEMI/AUTO" receiver markings. This is an excellent all original Colt M16 fully automatic rifle in the highly desirable 5.56mm cartridge that is complete with one of the early Japanese manufactured Colt 3X20 marked sniper scopes that is mounted directly to the carrying handle. World War II Auto-Ordnance M1 Thompson DEWAT Class III/NFA Submachine Gun

Lot # 549 (Sale Order: 547 of 920)

World War II Auto-Ordnance M1 Thompson DEWAT Class III/NFA Submachine Gun

The M1 and M1A1 were introduced in April 1942 and was a simplified wartime version of the original M1928 Thompson Submachine Gun. These SMGs exhibit numerous wartime, manufacturing shortcuts that were developed to facilitate a cheaper/easier to manufacture SMG with a higher production rate, while still maintaining their reliability. The wartime features are a simple stamped, "L" type fixed rear sight, horizontal walnut forearm, fixed butt stock and side-mounted cocking handle, with no cooling fins on the barrel and no compensator. Additionally the entire bolt mechanism was redesigned for faster production that includes a one-piece forged bolt with a simple firing pin mechanism. The receiver is marked: "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/CALIBER 45 M1/NO. 39249", and the right side is marked: "AUTO ORDNANCE CORPORATION/BRIDGEPORT CONNECTICUT U.S.A.". The left side of the receiver is stamped with the Rochester Ordnance district, inspector initials: "R.L.B." with a encircled "GES". The lower trigger housing is marked: "AUTO/SINGLE" and "FIRE/SAFE", with the serial number "188670" stamped on the underside of the trigger guard. This SMG is complete with two 30-round magazines. This is the same exact type of SMG that was used for many years by Vic Morrow, in the hit TV show "COMBAT" and again in the excellent movie "Saving Private Ryan". As noted this example does not have a matching numbers on the receiver and lower trigger group. This SMG was DEWATED by welding a plug inside the barrel/chamber area along with a small tack weld at the junction of the barrel and the receiver face.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 98% of the GI parkerized finish overall, with wear on the edges and high spots. The wood components, stock, pistol grip and forearm, appears to be new wartime replacement parts that show only minor handling marks. Overall an exceptionally nice Thompson M1 SMG. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E) that has been classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. Although listed as unserviceable, they are still considered weapons that are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. Before bidding on this item, it is the sole responsibility and obligation of the bidder/Class 3 FFL holder to understand and comply with all the State and Federal transfer laws and restrictions that apply in their current place of residence.

Desirable World War II German Luftwaffe Issue Model 30 Survival Drilling Complete with Metal Storage

Lot # 552 (Sale Order: 550 of 920)

Desirable World War II German Luftwaffe Issue Model 30 Survival Drilling Complete with Metal Storage Case and Accessories

This is a very fine, all original WWII J. P. Sauer and Sohns M30 German Luftwaffe survival drilling. The M30 Drilling was standard issue to Luftwaffe bomber crews in North Africa and the Mediterranean Theater from 1941-43. They are a three-barreled combination gun; double barrel 12 gauge, over a 9.3X74R rifle barrel. These drillings exhibit beautiful pre-war workmanship as produced by the J. P. Sauer and Sohns factory that show a high polish rust blue barrel with a beautiful color casehardened receiver, trigger guard, grip cap and forend attaching metal, with an oil finished, European walnut stock and forearm. The quality of these drillings, rivals anything that was produced in the US prior to WWII. The bottom of the rear barrel lug has a single "stick Eagle/2" Luftwaffe acceptance mark and the underside of each barrel has the Commercial "Eagle/N" proofmarks, along with the bore and gauge/caliber markings, "12/65" and is dated "12-41" for the month and year of manufacture. Both shotgun barrels and the rifle barrel are marked "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL". The serial number "337483" is stamped on the underside of the rifle barrel, the left receiver rail, rear receiver tang, with the last four digits (7483) stamped on the forend attaching iron, showing all matching numbers. The right rear breech area of the shotgun barrel is correctly engraved with the large "Luftwaffe Eagle" mark carrying the Nazi Swastika. The barrel has a matted rib with brass bead front sight. These drillings have a Greener type cross-bolt receiver/action with a tang mounted safety lever. The top right edge of the receiver rail is also marked with the intertwined "SS" proof for the Sauer & Sohns factory along with the Commercial Eagle "N" firing proof. Both sides of the receiver are marked with "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" with a larger intertwined "SS" logo on the underside of the receiver. The left side of the stock has a small European style oval cheekpiece with a large prominent "Luftwaffe Eagle/Swastika" insignia stamped on the right side of the buttstock with a black plastic serrated buttplate marked in the center with the intertwined "SS" logo of the Sauer & Sohns factory. The top of the receiver tang has a sliding barrel selector catch. When engaged the rifle barrel selector raises a folding, 100 meter, rifle rear sight on the barrel rib and engages the forward trigger for firing the rifle barrel. The front trigger can be pushed forward to activate a "single set" trigger. This rifle has a diminutive high quality scroll engraving on the receiver, trigger guard, and engraved screw heads with the forearm and pistol grip finely checkered. The drilling is packed in an aluminum carrying case that has the gray painted exterior, which is divided into compartments for the drilling, ammunition, cleaning equipment and sling with the inside of the lid stenciled with a listing of the original contents. The drilling includes an original three section wooden cleaning rod, a rifle bore brush, two shotgun bore brushes and an original M30 field manual. The Length of pull of this drilling is 14 inches.

Excellent with 95% of the original blue/color casehardened finish overall. The left barrel showing minor wear and blue loss on the side from where it was carried with some edge and high spot wear. The receiver shows 85% of its original color casehardened finish overall, with most of the finish loss on the front sides and front under sides of the receiver, where it was probably carried in the field or lightly hunted with during WWII. The stock and forend are both in very fine condition overall with only minor handling marks with nice distinct checkering on both sides with only a couple of minor handling marks. The larger Luftwaffe/Eagle/Swastika is clear and distinct. The case retains 85% of the original Luftwaffe gray painted exterior with wear on the edges and corners from movement during storage. The accessories are all in very fine condition. This is an excellent example of a real and unaltered, WWII Luftwaffe M30 drilling that is showing original honest hunting/handling wear.
