Shadow Box Display for Captain George W. Yates Company F 7th Cavalry

The shadow box includes two photographs (one a tin type and one that appears to be daguerreotype) that appear to be of Captain George W. Yates. There is also an informational piece about Yates' military service, which came to a conclusion at the Battle of Little Bighorn. There is also a Boston Regalia Co. envelope containing a ribbon marked to Custer Post No. 7 of the Grand Army of the Republic in St. Joseph, Missouri. The tin type shows a dark aged patina with faint image while the daguerreotype has a distinct image with minimal wear and some of the case lining stuck to the back of the frame. The ribbon and envelope show some mild wear.

1) Guest of Custer Camp No. 10 button featuring image of George Custer with red white and blue ribbon marked for the 24th Encampment "S. OF V." in Lewiston, Maine in June of 1906. 2) Button with image of George Custer marked "1839-1876" with yellow ribbon marked for the dedication of the Custer Monument in Monroe, Michigan in 1910. 3) Large ribbon commemorating the 9th Annual Reunion of the Harris Light Cavalry Association, Second New York Volunteers in Peekskill, New York in 1899. There are images of two men attached to the ribbon, one being George Custer, and a silvered clasp/pin at the top.
