Inscribed Civil War Range Smith & Wesson No. 2 Old Army Revolver

Manufactured prior to 1865. Butt inscribed "G.L./U.S.A." S&W rework star on back of barrel lug, grip frame, and cylinder. Grip frame stamped "R.F. ENEWOLD." Enewold was a retailer/collector from Reno, Nevada, and stamped many of the guns he sold.

Very fine overall as factory refinished with finished over pitting, handling marks mostly on grips. Mechanically excellent.

Very good, original finish with nice case colors in the brown coloration, some original case colors on the action, some minor spotting, and light handling evidence. The wood has tiny cracks at the upper tang and the rear of the lockplates, a few marks, and sharp checkering. Mechanically functions, though firing pins are absent/broken.
