Winchester Deluxe Model 1892 Lever Action Takedown Rifle

Per the Madis serial number data published by Winchester, this rifle is legally an antique. The factory letter indicates the serial number was applied on 24 April 1899, the rifle was received at the warehouse on 26 April 1899, and it shipped in order number 26735 on 27 April 1899. The factory letter also confirms the current configuration. The left side of the lower tang is marked "7524 XXX", with "7524" repeated on the butt of the stock and inside of the buttplate.

Fine, with much of the original finish on the barrel and magazine tube, traces of refinished blue on the receiver and takedown collar, some scattered light surface pitting/spotting, and some scattered minor handling marks on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Manufactured 1886. An included photo of the Cody Firearms Museum research request lists the rifle in .22 Long, with an octagon barrel, plain trigger, Lyman and Beach sights with no rear sight seat cut, and casehardened finish when received at the warehouse on 14 January 1886 and shipped the next day.

Fine, with most of the refinished blue and case colors, rerolled barrel address, and only the slightest handling marks on the replacement wood. Mechanically fine.

New Haven Arms Company Henry Lever Action Rifle

Manufactured late in 1865. Approximately 14,000 Henry's were manufactured between 1860-1866, and half of them are believed to have been used by Union soldiers, mostly purchased by the men themselves, some using reenlistment bonuses. The Henry was one of the most advanced weapons of the Civil War and featured prominently after the war during the period of continued westward expansion on the American Frontier. The top flat of the barrel has the two-line Henry's patent and New Haven address. Serial number "10941" stamped top of the barrel at the breech, the lower tang, and buttstock, with the partially visible matching number "109" visible inside the buttplate. Fitted with a brass blade front sight, replacement notch rear sight, and sling swivels mounted on the left of the barrel/magazine and stock.

Fine, with the iron components showing mostly an attractive brown patina, crisp original barrel address, sharp edges, some scattered light pitting/oxidation, and the once lightly cleaned brass showing an attractive applied patina. The otherwise fine refinished stock has a few hairline cracks and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

Attractive Antique Special Order Winchester Deluxe Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle with Factory Letter

Manufactured 1884. Included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as receipt at the warehouse on 12 July 1884 and shipment the same day in order number 13382. Fitted with special order half magazine, casehardened frame, and checkered wood. Left side of lower tang marked "5282 XXX 38 R", stock inlet marked "2160", which is repeated inside the buttplate. Includes a four-piece cleaning rod.

Very fine as partially restored, with much of the original blue finish, some of the restored case colors, some scattered light spotting, and the replacement wood restored/recheckered with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Sheriff's Model Single Action Army Revolver in .32 Caliber

Antique Black Powder Frame Colt Sheriff's Model Single Action Army Revolver in Rare .32 Colt Caliber with Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1889. Includes a letter from Ron Graham about the revolver and its rarity as a possibly one of a kind .32 Colt Sheriff's Model. The factory letter lists the revolver in .32 caliber with a 3 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and rubber grips and indicates it shipped to Colt's San Francisco Agency on December 3, 1889. Page 365 of "The Official Record of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 1873-1895" lists only one revolver in .32 caliber with a 3 1/2 inch barrel and blue finish under the list of .32 Colt "Plain Revolvers with Ejectors." They included revolvers listed in the records as ".32/c" like this one as well as those recorded as ".32 Colt" for their survey. They do not list any Sheriff's Model revolvers in this caliber nor .32 S&W. This revolver may be the lone example included in the revolvers with ejectors. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard, and butt.

Fair with gray and brown patina, scattered pitting, and moderate to heavy overall wear. The grips are very good with aged tones, distinct designs and checkering, and mild age and handling wear. Mechanically functions fine.

Colt Sheriff's Model 1878 Double Action Revolver

Extremely Rare Colt Sheriff's Model 1878 Double Action Revolver in .38 Colt with Factory Letter

Factory letter states revolver was shipped on July 20, 1889, and delivered to E.C. Meacham Arms Co. of St. Louis, MO, with a rare 2 1/2 inch barrel in .38 caliber, nickel finish, and hard rubber stocks. This was a shipment of two guns of this type. Per Don Wilkerson, only 1 ejectorless 2 1/2 inch barrel, nickel plated Model 1878 was manufactured by Colt (see page 302 of "Colt's Double-Action Revolver, Model of 1878").

Good overall with metal surfaces polished bright, pitting, softened grip checkering. Mechanically fine.

Arizona Territory Shipped Engraved Colt Single Action Army

Arizona Territory Shipped Engraved Colt First Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Ox Head Carved Grip and Factory Letter

The factory letter lists this revolver in .38/40 with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, nickel finish, and grip carved with "ox head" and indicates it was shipped to Phelps-Dodge Co. Bisbee, Arizona Territory, c/o Detroit Copper Co. on December 29, 1911. The powerful mining company Phelps-Dodge Co. owned stakes in the Detroit Copper Co. and the Copper Queen Mine. The records did not list engraving. This revolver is documented by serial number on references p. 156 of Keith Cochran's "Colt Peacemaker Encyclopedia Vol. II." The engraving includes complex scrollwork, beaded backgrounds, wavy line and dot patterns, an interesting serpentine design on the butt, and floral designs. The right grip is engraved with an ox head and has "Gunart/Lakewood/N.J." (Sol Weisenfeld's company active in the 1970s and 1980s) on the inside. Matching serial numbers are visible on the frame, trigger guard, and butt.

Very good as professionally embellished with crisp engraving, much of the nickel plating remaining, minor pitting, general mild wear, and lighter wear and crisp carving on the grips. Mechanically fine.

Colt Model 1878 Frontier Double Action Revolver

Desirable Browning Brothers, Ogden, Utah Shipped Antique Colt Model 1878 Frontier Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

The factory letter states the revolver was shipped to the famed Utah retailer Browning Brothers on June 27, 1893 with an illegible barrel length in the records, .45 caliber chambering, nickel finish, and type of stocks not listed. This was a single gun shipment. The Browning Brothers, particularly John Moses, were made famous by their various legendary firearms designs including multiple Winchester lever actions and Colt automatics.

Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and butt.

Very good as restored with most of the refinished blue and case colors remaining, cylinder drag lines, and mild wear. The revolver functions, but the cylinder does not lock up due to polished cylinder stops.
