Each person wanting to bid must be at least 18 years of age and register through Proxibid with a valid credit card. There is no onsite bidding for this auction. A valid photo I.D. issued by a local, state or federal agency is required to complete all transactions at time of purchase. Make sure your name and/or company name and address are spelled correctly when you register so your documents are completed correctly. If you are a car dealer please make sure you register this way. There is a $25 fee for corrections after paperwork has been completed. Winning Bids are not contingent upon financing; If you don't have money in hand to purchase items, do not bid; you are legally responsible even if you cannot get financing. All sales are final. All persons entering the auction premises to preview will be required to show a valid ID to enter and be issued a numbered card with a time stamp, which must be returned as you leave the facility. Preview of the vehicles will be the day before the auction from 9AM until 3PM. There is no preview on the day of the auction. Due to Covid 19 state and/or local regulations, a mask or face covering may be required to enter premises and social distancing should be observed. Other restrictions may be in place due to Covid19 that were not known at the time of this posting. There may be a limit to the amount of people allowed in the yard at one time. No one under the age of 18 is allowed on auction premises. Any person found altering or tampering with any items at the Almonaster Towing Facility will be removed from the premises and forfeit their right to bid at the auction or future auctions. Buyers Premium of 15% plus a $25 notary fee will be added to each vehicle purchased (i.e. purchase price is 1,000 x .15 = $1,150 + $25 = $1,175 total). Sales Tax is not collected on vehicles; you will remit your taxes to your local OMV or title facility when you transfer the vehicle. Some items in this auction may be subject to seller's reserve; if reserve is not met the item will not be declared as sold. Sales Tax, if applicable on any auction item, will be collected on final bid amount plus any buyer's premium. Buyers who purchase for resale must present their resale tax certificate prior to payment, however if sales tax is later determined to be due, buyer agrees to bear all the liability of the sales tax for their purchases and remit such tax to the Auction Company and/or sales tax authority. If you are high bidder, Auction Company will send an invoice within a few hours after auction has concluded. No warranties are made as to the merchantability of any items or their fitness for any purpose. Please rely on your own inspection of item before bidding. The vehicles are from an impound yard and have NO KEYS; RUNNING CONDITION IS UNKNOWN. They were impounded for one reason or another. They may be a branded vehicle; please check lot listing for this information. Prior to bidding on a vehicle, please run Carfax reports, NMVTIS reports, recall checks and/or other checks you deem necessary to make your own determination on vehicle. Some vehicles may be missing the Catalytic Converters, therefore BUYER BEWARE all items are sold "as is" without warranty and with all faults/defects. Odometer readings are shown in pictures if they were readable; however vehicles that are over 10 years old are exempt from mileage disclosure. If the vehicle is within 10 years then the odometer will be required although it could not be obtained by seller as there are no keys to the vehicles. Vehicles may be wrecked, have dents, scratches, flat tires, tears in seat, missing catalytic convertors, etc. Although the lot description may not mention defects or missing parts, does not mean there aren't any, rely on your own inspection before bidding. All items "as is" without warranty and with all faults/defects. The vehicles will have a Louisiana Permit to Sell, which looks and acts like a title. It 'PERMITS' the tow facility to sell the vehicle to help recoup towing and/or storage fees. Buyer will be provided a notarized bill of sale and "Permit to Sell" issued by the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles in accordance with LA R.S. 32:1711-1732. Please make sure this is accepted in your state of residence before bidding on these lots, as there is no guarantee of transfer into other states and all sales are final. (See sample Permit to Sell copy in Downloads & Links under Announcements.) Once item has been declared sold, the buyer has entered into a contract and is responsible for the items. All items declared as "SOLD" by the auctioneer must be paid for in full within the required payment timeframe. If full payment is not made within designated time frames, then bidder will not be allowed to register or bid at any and all future auctions conducted by ServCorp International, Inc. and will be reported to Proxibid as a non-paying bidder. No shipping is provided, local pickup only. The City of New Orleans does NOT have loading equipment available for lifting vehicles onto trailers. Please note that if you send a company to pick up your vehicle they will need a winch to pull the vehicle onto the trailer, as there are NO keys. Large Transport trucks cannot pull into facility to load as there is no room for them to maneuver around the facility; They must have a way to get vehicle out to the road to load. It is Highly Recommended that purchasers have a key made and bring a hot battery when picking up. Purchaser may contact the impound yard at 985.658.8290 to verify if assistance can be provided with moving vehicle out to the road for loading, however this is at their discretion and are under no obligation to do so. Purchasers have Auction day, Friday after and Monday to Friday of the following week to remove the vehicle(s) excluding any designated holiday(s). THERE IS NO WEEKEND REMOVAL. All items purchased must be removed from the auction site by Friday, 12/10/21 by 3PM, no exceptions. Anyone who does not remove their purchases by 12/10/21 may be banned from participating in future auctions. See checkout for dates/times of removal. All loading/removal is responsibility of and at the expense of the purchaser. Storage fees from the Almonaster Towing Facility will accrue after allotted removal dates at a rate of at least $19.00 per day per vehicle. If storage is charged, the storage fee has to be paid in person at the Claiborne facility before you can remove your vehicle(s) and once paid you will have 24-hours to remove. All purchased vehicles must be signed for with the Almonaster Towing Facility prior to being removed. You must provide the Towing Facility a valid ID and paid invoice to release your vehicles. After vehicle is signed out, a release slip will be given to you for each vehicle, which is then given to the guard on duty as you remove the vehicle(s). If you are not picking up your own purchases you will need to let the driver know of the process that they will have to do for your vehicle/vehicles on your behalf. Once vehicle/vehicles are released by the Almonaster Towing Facility you can complete your vehicle paperwork with the Notary. The notary fee is added to your invoice, for all vehicles, boats & trailers and/or any other item that requires notarization. If purchaser is from out of state and is sending someone else to pick up vehicles, then a copy of vehicle paperwork for each applicable item will be sent to purchaser for signature. Upon receipt of these signed copies back to the Auction Company, the originals will then be sent by priority mail to the purchaser within 14 business days. If buyer is local, then paperwork can be picked up from the auction site or ServCorp's office in Slidell. PLEASE do not lose your vehicle paperwork; there is a fee of at least $125 for duplicates and could take up to 4 weeks or more to obtain. Purchaser does hereby indemnify and hold harmless the auctioneer and seller from any and all damages, claims or liabilities from injuries to persons or property of any type whatsoever caused during the sale or by the removal or shipping of items purchased. When entering any of the auction sites you do this at your own risk. Auction Company represents the Sellers interests in this transaction. Announcements whether verbal or through email made on auction day take precedence over any printed material and/or prior oral statements. The auctioneer and/or seller reserve the right to accept or reject any and all bids or re-catalog or remove any item from the auction at their discretion. Buyer is responsible for knowing which item they are bidding on. The Auction Company/Seller shall have no liability to the buyer of any lot for non-delivery of any purchased item(s), other than the return of the buyer's deposit and/or payment on the lot if applicable. All sales are final and no refunds of purchases will be allowed for any reason. Auctioneer shall have no responsibility for internet bidding interruption or delays beyond their control. Internet bidders should be aware that due to the nature of the internet, delays in transmission could result in the software failing to recognize your bid. Under no circumstances shall Bidder have any kind of claim against Auction Company, seller or anyone else if the Internet service fails to work correctly before or during the auction. Auctioneer will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. Internet bidders who desire to make certain their bid is acknowledged should use the proxy-bidding feature and leave their maximum bid 24 hours before the auction begins to close. This auction has an extending bidding feature. When a buyer places a bid on an item in the last moments before the item closes, the timer will extend up to 2-minutes to allow counter-bids to be placed. This will continue on that particular lot until there is no active bidding, then the lot will close. If you are an employee that works for the agency that this auction is being conducted for, please check with your supervisor before bidding, as most auctions for governmental agencies do not allow their employees to bid on their items.
