1978 Porsche 928 4.5 Auto Single Mirror

Lot # 226 (Sale Order: 26 of 42)

Featured and reviewed in 'GT Porsche' magazine by Andrew FrankelOriginal and unmodified with exception of the exhaustOriginal service record, handbook, and 1978 Sales BrochureGood history file. Porsche Certificate of Authenticity95,000 miles over 40 years. Original 'Telephone Dial' wheelsPorsche's intended replacement for the 911 may not have achieved that particular goal, but it wasn't for a lack of performance or technological wizardry. An alloy V8 was attached to a rear-mounted gearbox, and the galvanised body had aluminium doors and bonnet, plus body-coloured plastic bumpers - pretty radical for its time. The 928 was launched to a fanfare and surprised many by being named 'European Car of the Year', an award that traditionally went to worthy, but dull, family hatchbacks. Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911, and the car was universally praised as one of the greatest 'GT' cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B-roads with ease, thanks to super-direct steering, 50/50 weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted. The 928 was produced from 1978 until 1995, and from '78 to'80 the initial displacement of the water-cooled, single overhead cam, V8 engine was 4.5 litres which produced 240bhp, resulting in a top speed of 158 mph and a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds. The styling was the same in both 1978 and 1979, with the body lacking both front and rear spoilers. The distinctive rounded rear end without a spoiler is an unmistakable distinguishing feature of the early 928 - and is now considered the purest example of the design. This particular example is a, now rare, early single mirror variant presented in classic Guards Red with black and white Pasha upholstery. and was manufactured in August 1978 prior to being supplied to its first owner on 8th October 1978 by Porsche dealer Glenn Henderson at a list price of £19,499. This lovely Porsche has been enjoyed by a number of owners, one of whom, Mr Saunders, purchased it in 1984 @44,000 miles. He obviously got on well with the car and kept it for 24 years until 2008 when, with the odometer reading 86,000 miles, he sadly parted with it to 928 enthusiasts, Doug Harvey Garages, where it was displayed for a number of years until 2013.It was also featured as the 'cover car' for the first issue of Ultimate Porsche and been driven and reviewed by Andrew Frankel. The car remains in its original state sporting no modifications with the exception of the exhaust silencers, with the originals now being difficult to obtain. It benefitted from a fresh coat of Guards Red approximately 10 years ago and remains in lovely condition. Our vendor has owned the car for the last 2 years and has continued the servicing and maintenance schedule using Porsche Hatfield where it also spent some time on their 'classic' stand. Unusually, for a 95,000-mile 40-year old car, it's still enjoying the company of its original manuals and service book and there is even a 1978 Sales Brochure published by Porsche GB. The history file offers further insights into the car's interesting life story and is home to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This venerable old Porsche is now looking for a new home and we feel that it's highly unlikely that you will find another original 928 with such provenance and in such lovely original condition.

1970 Porsche 911T 2.2

Lot # 228 (Sale Order: 28 of 42)

Left-hand drive US-supplied '70 911T 2.2 Striking in Signal Orange over black with a rebuilt engine and gearbox Supplied with a NOVA reference number and MOT Accompanied by original service book and copy sales invoice Introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show the basic Porsche 911 design would run virtually unchanged for twenty-nine years. Ferdinand Porsche had been working on the design since the late fifties as a better performing replacement for the 356. Today his design still underpins the production of Porsche AG of Stuttgart. Before long the merits of using the Porsche 911 in competitive motorsport became apparent and history records it as one of the most successful campaigners of all time. From the 24 Hours of Le Mans to grass-roots motorsport, the 911 was simply the car to have. For 1970, the 'C-Series' 911 was introduced with a larger bore to give a capacity of 2165cc, producing 125bhp and now badged as a 'T'. Alterations to the suspension geometry improved the handling and added a bit more weight to the steering feel. The standard Fuchs alloy wheels gained a bit of girth and were now 6 inches wide. Offered here is a left-hand drive Porsche 911T 2.2 delivered new through Norm Bishop Porsche of Boise, Idaho on 12th February 1970 and finished in the striking colour of Signal Orange (colour code 1414) over a black leather interior. Factory installed options include, front and rear bumperettes, Koni shock absorbers, 5-speed transmission, alloy wheels, and front and rear stabiliser bars. Incredibly, the original service book remains intact recording 6 service stamps and also shows the cars' engine number, confirming it is a matching numbers example. Always cherished, the car had only three owners whilst it remained in the USA. There are invoices in the file dated May '16 from Mayo Performance for what appears to be recommissioning work carried out. Our vendor imported the car to the UK in 2017 and immediately set about removing the engine, dismantling it, having the original engine block machined and the whole unit re-assembled with new parts along with a rebuild of the gearbox. At this time the car was also totally resprayed in its original colour, Signal Orange, resulting in the beautiful car that sits before us today. Offered with a NOVA reference number, an MoT to enable prospective buyers to register the car in the UK with the DVLA, the original Service Book, and a Driver's Manual. Early 911s possess a certain purity of line, particularly in bright colours, a complete world away from the aerodynamic extravagances of the eighties and nineties, and in terms of style, it's the early cars that engender the most appreciative glances. A well set-up and maintained 911T, 'E' or 'S' driven with an intelligent right foot will provide some of the most quintessentially rewarding driving experiences you have ever had, and even the 125bhp 911T, will leave you with a serious grin.

1974 Porsche 911 3.0 RSR FIA Evocation

Lot # 229 (Sale Order: 29 of 42)

Converted to RSR spec in Germany by race team in-periodRecently updated to obtain HTP papers valid until 2028 (Period H1- 1972 to 1975. FIA Class GTS 27)Signed off by Jurgen Barth and the FIA in May 2018917 brakes, RSR suspension, twin-spark heads, MFIComplete engine rebuild in 2013 and has only completed a few laps of Silverstone sincePreviously raced with HTP papers in 2007/2008 at the Spa 6-Hours, Masters series and in Spain and PortugalFor the privateer in the mid-1970s who wanted to go sports car racing, and in particular compete successfully at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, there was really only one viable option, the Porsche RSR. Introduced in 1973, the RSR was a factory-built racing car based on the 911 chassis. These were not converted road cars, but rather purpose-built competition models, designed and built from the ground up for motor racing at International level. In 1974, the factory made significant changes to the car including a new 3.0-litre engine, wider wheels with centre-lock hubs and improved aerodynamics. The result was a car that would dominate the GT category and challenge for overall wins around the world for years to come. The car presented here we believe (from its chassis number 9117300660) began life as a German-market MY 1977 J-programme 911 'S' before being converted in Germany during the 1980s to a full 3.0 RSR race car-spec by a professional race team. It went on to race with HTP papers in circa 2007/2008 at the Spa 6-Hours, in the Masters Series, World Sports Cars, and in Spain and Portugal. We understand that in 2013, the engine was completely rebuilt by AWS Engineering at considerable expense, including new rings, new bearings, new valves, new rod-bolts and new crankcase studs. The correct injection system was also fitted. The car was acquired by our vendor from Andy Bruce (who himself bought the car in 2015) and has been vastly improved. We are informed that the car now has all the correct components/specification worthy of an RSR, including 917 brakes, RSR suspension, twin spark heads, MFI etc. Our vendor has spent a considerable amount of money on the car to obtain HTP papers which are valid until December 2028 (Period H1- 1972 to 1975. FIA Class GTS 27). The FIA rules have become very strict, so the car was thoroughly prepared accordingly by 'Roger Heavens Racing' with the fitting of a new period-correct roll cage and correct rear spoiler, and was happily signed off by Jurgen Barth and the FIA in May 2018. Other updates include a new Corbeau driver's seat, a new Willans fuel bladder (dated until 2021), a new exhaust and manifold, brand new Avon Historic Tyres, and a sympathetically retrimmed dashboard. If International racing is not for you, then this amazing car may well be eligible for some UK championships or even the occasional hill-climb or sprint and represents incredible value for money given the price of a factory original RSR. This is quite simply a stunning Porsche 'racer' in every respect and is not to be missed.

2002 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo X50

Lot # 230 (Sale Order: 30 of 42)

Showing just over 55,000 miles with a seamless maintenance recordArguably the most desirable configuration with the X50 upgrade and manual gearbox'Triple Black' colour scheme boasting options including embossed, electric, heated leatherSuperb condition, ticks all the boxes, act now before all the good ones are out of reachLaunched in 2000, the 996 Turbo offered genuine supercar performance in a compact and practical package. Arriving with four-wheel drive as standard, a water-cooled engine, a smooth new bodyshell, and a radically updated cabin, the new 996 Turbo was a thoroughly sophisticated, all-weather, competent supercar and although it went out of production in 2005, in real terms, it's still as quick as anything on the road. The 2002 model, sometimes known as the Mk.2 or Facelift, also saw body revisions which increased stiffness, improving handling and crash safety.Mid-range punch is the 996 Turbo's party trick and while 420bhp might not be a headline power figure today, it still feels seriously rapid with instant thrust that ensures you are pressed against the back of the seat and a flow of power that feels almost linear. The chassis and brakes are a perfect match for the engine's performance, whilst the ride is taut but retains enough suppleness for long journeys to remain comfortable. With four-wheel drive and the engine slung out the back, both grip and traction are incredibly strong promoting a feeling of confidence that can border on invincibility!Delivered new by Stratstone of Wilmslow, this very well-specified Facelift manual Turbo in Basalt Black has the all-important X50 pack that included larger turbochargers, a revised ECU, and an uprated exhaust, the combined effect of which was to raise output to 450 horsepower. This C16 UK-model was factory ordered with a specification that included, Arctic Silver interior furniture, Red seatbelts, and embossed electric heated seats. The car is supplied with its original book packs, tools, and a substantial history folder including a maintenance record that is complete and documented.Service intervals are shown as follows,Miles 3,463, Stratstone of Wilmslow 6,175, Porsche Centre West London 8,769, Porsche Centre West London 8,768, Porsche Centre West London 12,291 Porsche Centre West London 18,095 Porsche Centre West London 24,277 Porsche Centre West London 28,713 Porsche Centre West London 31,923 Fernssport Silverstone 37,930 Fernsport Silverstone 46,309 Fernsport Silverstone 49,301 Fernsport Silverstone 52,512 Fernsport Silverstone 54,197 Paul Stephens The current indicated mileage is 55,358.As you can see, this example has clearly been well maintained by either Porsche main agents or known marque specialists.X-Pack cars are fairly rare and this is a great opportunity to own a car revered for its excellent build quality and supercar performance, in arguably the 'most desireable' colour combination of 'triple black', with a great maintenance record, and in such wonderful condition.

1958 Porsche-Diesel 308 'Super' N Tractor

Lot # 231 (Sale Order: 31 of 42)

Powered by an air-cooled, four-stroke, 2466cc, three-cylinder dieselRecently-completed, total restoration included a full engine rebuildPainted to a Porsche car-grade finish and detailed to a show standard'This is a wonderful piece of Porsche history, and extremely desirable. Following spells at the Austro-Daimler, Mercedes-Benz, and Steyr companies, all of which benefited greatly from his monumental engineering prowess, Dr Ferdinand Porsche set up his own design consultancy in Stuttgart on 25th April 1931. Dr Ing. F Porsche's most celebrated product of the 1930s was, of course, Hitler's 'People's Car - the Volkswagen - but the company was also active in other fields, literally so in the case of its tractor project. Several prototypes were constructed prior to WW2, the earliest of which were powered by petrol engines, before Dr Porsche turned to diesel power, eventually developing a series of one, two, three and four-cylinder air-cooled engines ranging in output from 14 to 55bhp. As with all things from Dr Porsche's fertile imagination, the tractors owed little to convention and much to creativity, imagination and efficiency. An unusual feature of Porsche's drive system was its hydraulic coupling between the engine and the gearbox, which permitted smooth, clutch-less gear changes, reducing wear on the transmission components with the bonus of being simple to use and maintain by unsophisticated farmers. After the end of the war, Porsche was barred from producing its own tractors and only companies that had been making tractors prior to and during the war were permitted to carry on, forcing Porsche to license its designs to other manufacturers. Agreements were concluded with two companies, Allgaier GmbH in Germany and Hofherr Schrantz in Austria, and then in 1954 Mannesmann AG diversified into tractor manufacture by acquiring the rights to Porsche's engine and Allgaier's tractor design, setting up Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH.Here then we have the sports car of tractors! Porsche launched the Super N 308 as a sophisticated vehicle for medium-sized to large farms in 1957. Replacing the P133, the optimised engine delivered significantly more power with the same displacement and fuel consumption. Of course, it retained the typical Porsche look: red paint and a sleek, inclined engine hood.Offered here is a fully restored 1958 Porsche 308 Super, powered by an air-cooled, four-stroke, 2466cc, three-cylinder diesel, and now superbly finished in Red and Cream. The extremely thorough, recently-completed, restoration included a full engine rebuild with new pistons/rings, con-rod bearings, injectors and pump. The fuel tank was stripped, lined and sealed, whilst the front and rear axles, all drive and drawbar brackets and the steering column (with new fittings and bushes) were also fully stripped down, refurbished and rebuilt. The bell crank was repaired and many new parts were fitted - including the hydraulic pump, stub axles, track rod end seals, dash casing (with wiring harness, switches, instruments and lighting), seat and cushion, tyres and exhaust. It has also been painted to a Porsche car-grade finish and detailed to what our vendor describes as 'show standard' This is a wonderful piece of Porsche history, and extremely desirable.

1980 Porsche 924 Turbo S1

Lot # 233 (Sale Order: 33 of 42)

Total ground-up restoration by marque specialists to factory standardsJust 45,000 miles showing, huge history folder with lots of invoices and all work documentedComplete rebuild including, engine, turbo, transaxle, suspension, brakes, fuel system, interior.Magazine featured. A rare car in superb conditionPorsche was commissioned by Volkswagen to develop the 924 project - originally conceived as a replacement for the VW-Porsche 914 - but bought the rights to the car back when VW changed tack. Build quality was to the usual superb Porsche standards, and from 1976 the 924 was an instant sales success. In production terms, the 924 was the first Porsche model powered by a water-cooled, front-mounted engine. This arrangement, coupled with rear wheel drive was normal for most other manufacturers, but it was unusual for Porsche having previously only used mid or rear-mounted engines all of which had been air-cooled.With Porsche at the forefront of turbo technology, and the 924 chassis ripe for exploitation with more power, the 924 Turbo's development was inevitable. With a 45bhp power boost that raised top speed by nearly 20 mph, a five-speed gearbox, and uprated suspension, the car was very well received and more than 12,000 were sold over a five year period. Introduced in 1978, the 924 Turbo featured a distinctive row of four extra air-intakes in the nose panel and a NACA duct in the bonnet. Other unique features included aluminium 15-inch spoke-style alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, 5-stud hubs, and a discreet but effective rear lip spoiler.Today, the 924 Turbo is a rare car, with Phillip Watson of the 924 Owners' Club stating 'We reckon that there are only about 60 left in the UK.' Their appeal is widening, especially in mainland Europe, says fellow club member Steven Cooper and prices are on the march. Steven also points out that Porsche Centre Bolton chose a 924 Turbo to demonstrate its restoration skills in an inter-dealer restoration competition. Phillip claims that an independent classic Porsche dealer is quietly buying all models of 924 because he sees them as the 'next big thing'. Another 924 Turbo fan is high-profile Porsche enthusiast, Magnus Walker of the USA, who has treated himself to a 924 Turbo. VUY 546V was despatched from the Porsche factory on the 7th October 1979 having been ordered in Alpine White. First registered on the 1st May 1980, the original service booklet shows this car returned to the supplying dealer for its initial service just two weeks later with a recorded mileage of 811 miles. Now displaying 45,000 miles with a clean HPI certificate showing 5 previous keepers and the current owner since 2015. The current owner happens to be a Porsche specialist who acquired the car to add to his collection and decided to set about a complete ground up 'nut and bolt' restoration which has been finished to an extremely high standard. The car was stripped to the bare chassis and totally rebuilt using mostly genuine Porsche parts where necessary. The engine and transaxle were removed and sent to a known specialist for a total overhaul, the retrim of the interior in the correct 'Pasha' was also outsourced, but all other work was completed in-house. All work has been photographed, documented and a CD will accompany the car within the history file along with the V5, current MoT, umpteen invoices, the original book-pack, spare keys, tool roll, and lightweight jack. What we have here is a super opportunity to purchase a rare 924 variant that has been restored to an exacting standard. The cost of restoration would far exceed the high estimate on this genuine, matching-numbers 924 Turbo, and with the market for unusual 924s continuing to bubble, this could well be an excellent long-term investment.

1986 Porsche 911 Supersport 3.2 Carrera Coupe

Lot # 234 (Sale Order: 34 of 42)

From 26-years long-term ownership. In storage for the last 18 yearsMechanical overhaul by Zuffenhaus Porsche Specialist. New fuel tank, fuel pump and pipes, brake discs and padsNew battery and recent full service including spark plugs. Supplied with a fresh MoT Striking in Guards Red, red-piped black leather, and matching Fuchs alloysPossibly the ultimate version of the 3.2 Carrera was an 'Option M491-Turbo-look', or 'Supersport', as it later became known in the UK. Initially, Option M491 was only available on a coupe via the Special Wishes programme, but was later extended to include a Turbo-Look Targa and Cabriolet in 1985, then became an official model from 1986. From 1987 the designation was officially known as SSE (Supersport Equipment).'M491' was not just a sop to the excesses of the 1980s, with flared arches evoking the appearance of some dramatic Porsche models from the past, but was a popular option offering the 'macho' good looks of the Turbo without the mechanical complexities. However, it was not cheap adding over £10,000 to the cost of a standard variant by the end of the model's life in 1989, possibly explaining the relatively small build numbers. The spec also included a limited slip differential, the stiffer suspension and superior braking system from the 930 Turbo, a wrap-around deep chin-spoiler, the famous 'tea-tray' rear spoiler, and wider Fuchs alloy wheels. The rarity of M491/Supersport models is undeniable, especially in right-hand drive, but official figures are hard to come by. A respected source quotes that just 651 C16 (UK-supplied) M491 cars (including all Coupes, Targas and Cabriolets) were manufactured between 1984 and 1989. The car presented here is a 1986 Porsche 911 3.2 'Option M491-Turbo-look' or, as it was officially known in the UK for 1986 only, a 'Carrera with Sport Equipment' It is believed to be 1 of only 100 such C16 models produced in 1986. Finished in the classic colour combination of Guards Red with red-piped black leather it is certainly evocative of the late 1980s. Our vendor has owned the car for the last 26 years and when he purchased it back in 1992 it was his daily driver. In 2000 the decision was taken to SORN the rare Porsche and put it into dry storage. At that point, the car had covered 98,000 miles.Perhaps influenced by the recent surge of interest in Supersports, XON 7 has been returned to activity and sent to the well known and respected Porsche specialist Zuffenhaus to have a mechanical overhaul. It was fitted with a new fuel tank, fuel pump and pipes, brake discs and pads, and a new battery prior to being fully serviced including spark plugs, and a bit of a clean and polish in exchange for a very reasonable £3,500. The Carrera was then taken away and given a bit of a clean and polish and then supplied with a fresh MoT. This 911 is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. This is a real opportunity to join an illustrious group of 'Supersport' owners at a very accessible guide price. With prices for the standard 3.2 Carreras on the march, securing a rare and desirable example such as this, while you still can, may well be one of your better decisions. Please note private registration number to be retained.

1994 Porsche 968 Club Sport

Lot # 235 (Sale Order: 35 of 42)

A UK-delivered (C16) 'Club Sport'. 1 of just 179 RHD UK examplesComprehensive history file. Porsche Certificate of Authenticity Invoices totalling £18,000 on maintenance and servicingFull book-pack, complete Porsche tool-kit, all keys and immobiliser fobs, original spare wheel A verifiable mileage of only 61,000 milesLong-term Porsche devotees will be all too familiar with the 968, introduced to the world back in 1991, and as it turned out, was to be the end of the line for Porsche's enduring front-engined four-cylinder model line. The 968 was developed directly from the 944, which meant adopting its well-honed and well-proven running gear, whilst presenting a fresh design aesthetic that made it feel like a significantly new model. The standard 968 was a great all-round sports car, but as a last 'hurrah' to this enduring lineage Porsche wanted to create a car tailored more for the pure enthusiast and, in particular, one that would excel in competition. In late 1992, the 968 'Club Sport' was introduced and, whilst it was mechanically identical to the standard 968 and shared the same 3.0-litre engine (producing 225lb-ft of torque and 240bhp) and 6-speed gearbox, it differed in a number of important ways. This track-focused run-out model adopted the philosophy of 'less is more' by removing all luxury-related equipment from the basic build specification. With the no-frills approach, less weight, and clever suspension, Porsche could now focus media attention on the Club Sport's fast road and track abilities. As soon as the press got hold of the Club Sport and discovered what a brilliant drivers' car it was, the credibility of the 968 went through the roof. Even Walter Rohrl reckoned it was the best handling car that Porsche made. The CS achieved a 'Performance Car of The Year' award in 1993 from Performance Car magazine in the UK. In total, just 1,923 CS examples were produced worldwide, of which only 179 were UK right-hand drive models, making the Club Sport a very rare Porsche indeed. There has been, over the years, a misconception in the motoring press that Club Sports are only Club Sports if they have bucket-seats, wind-up windows, no sunroof, manual hatch, etc., however, the Club Sport was available to order with any number of options - and indeed it frequently was. It's very common to see Club Sports with Recaro cloth comfort sport front seats, electric windows, sunroof, air conditioning, and even rear seats whilst still sporting the 'Club Sport' badge - especially in parts of Europe and Australia. The car presented here is a C16 (UK-delivered) right-hand drive 1994 Porsche 968 Club Sport. Its CS status is confirmed by its specification, chassis number and accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This striking example, in the much sought-after combination of Black paintwork with red decals, was first registered on 6th June 1994 and pre-delivery inspected and delivered by HR Owen on 11th July 1994. This particular CS was ordered new with black Recaro cloth comfort seats, central locking, and an electric sunroof. The car has covered just 61,000 miles and presents extremely well. According to the vendor it drives as well as it should too, adding that the engine idles quietly and accelerates smoothly, and the gearbox is said to feel exactly as it should swapping cogs with the precision you'd expect from a Porsche. The mileage is supported by a comprehensive history file, demonstrating that the car has been maintained to strict standards throughout its life, as evidenced by invoices totalling circa £18,000. The file indicates that the cambelt was replaced at 47,000 miles, along with the balance belts and PAS belts. A new clutch and a new dual mass flywheel were fitted at the same time and additionally, the alternator has been replaced and new gearbox mountings fitted. Other recent work has involved a new windscreen and the steering rack and pump being overhauled. Rarely do you come across one of these legendary 968 CS models that is such a complete package. Details like a full book-pack, a complete Porsche tool-kit, all keys and immobiliser fobs, and an original spare wheel help support this dutiful ownership. The 944, the 968 and even the 928 are seeing their values rise in the wake of the '911 explosion' and front-engined Porsches are having the Renaissance they richly deserve. This is simply a lovely genuine example of arguably the most coveted front-engined Porsche model and, competitively guided, opens the door into a very exclusive club.

1973 Porsche 911T 2.4 'RS Evocation'

Lot # 236 (Sale Order: 36 of 42)

Original, UK right-hand drive car, first registered on June 18, 1973, in GlasgowIn current ownership since November 1997 (21 years)Engine and gearbox rebuilt in 1997 with the odometer showing 94,000 miles Only 12,000 miles since to date in dry weather. Currently 106,000 Matching engine and chassis numbers. Porsche Certificate of AuthenticityEvery MoT back to 1990, Two sets of keys Thatcham alarm, new spare tyre, jack/tool rollThe 911T (Touring) had been introduced as a new base model in 1967, initially with a 2-litre engine in 110bhp form before gaining the 2.2-litre unit, along with the rest of the range, in 1969. The T's power output then was 125bhp, increasing to 130bhp with the introduction of the 2.4-litre engine across the range for 1972. Externally similar, the differences between them are manifest in trim details and mechanicals. The 2.4 cars are identifiable by their black engine lid grille with a 2.4 badge, a gunmetal 911 badge instead of the previous gold, bumper over riders changed to all-black, and horn grilles and sidelight-cluster rims changed from chrome to black. Being the base model, the T is fuelled by Zenith 40 T1N carburettors, and the 2.4s were first to receive the new 915 five-speed gearbox, with the Sportomatic box only available to special order. Most Ss and Es had sunroofs and electric windows, while the T had to make do with wind-up windows. This 911T is a genuine, right-hand drive, UK car which was first registered in Glasgow on June the 18th, 1973. Porsches were rare in Glasgow in the early seventies and finished in bright Oxford Blue with a Beige leatherette and corduroy interior, this distinctive car must have turned a few heads in Sauchiehall Street on a Saturday morning. It was enjoyed by a number of owners over the following years until November 1997 when EUF 695L came into the possession of our vendor. At this point, the car was White and Red and had been rebuilt as an accurate evocation of the legendary 2.7RS, also hailing from 1973. Although he has carried out a considerable amount of work on the car, the bodywork today is essentially the same as 1997 and looking at the photographs it appears to be a subtle homage to the RS without going to the excesses that occasionally creep into RS recreations. The car's history prior to our vendor's purchase is a little sketchy but, as far as he can tell, the owner before him in 1996 carried out the conversion fitting the revised bodywork, Fuchs Alloys, triple-choke Weber carbs, and a Momo steering wheel.Shortly after his purchase in 1997, the engine and gearbox were rebuilt, and the car was fitted with new front wings, Corbeau seats, four-point harnesses, and later a stainless steel exhaust system by Techspeed Racing of Leamington Spa. There are photos in the files showing all this work.Since the 1997 engine rebuild, just 12,000 miles have been covered, and the car continues to enjoy regular use in dry weather and is always garaged. He informs us that the 'Car is MoT'd every year, and any matters addressed to ensure continuous use. The car has never broken down in my ownership.'As we said, the 911's history, prior to our vendor's purchase is a bit limited but there are MoTs going back to 1990 and an interesting DVLA 'Vehicle Record' showing a complete history of ownership since its first registration. In addition to the old MoTs and Tax discs, there is a Porsche C of A, and invoices for parts and maintenance from Tuthill Porsche, Two plus Two, and local specialists Track Day Toyz Ltd. All four tyres are in good condition, it's fitted with a Thatcham Alarm, and the vehicle is accompanied by an unused spare wheel, jack and tool roll, two sets of keys, and a 911 T/E/S owner's handbook. The car is not perfect and would benefit from some minor bodywork attention, a little TLC, and fine detailing, but it has never been fully restored and quite frankly looks lovely. 1973 was the last year of lightweight cars before the advent of impact bumpers and, for many purists, the 2.4 is the last 'old-school' 911 and therefore all the more collectable particularly when they look like this.

1998 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo S

Lot # 238 (Sale Order: 38 of 42)

Pastel Yellow over black leather A 'C16' UK-supplied right-hand drive car - one of only 26Has covered 71,155 miles from newFull main dealer service historySupplied with books, UK V5c and an MOT until 3.7.19Sitting near the top of the 993-generation hierarchy, Porsche's 911 Turbo S was introduced as the first-ever model of its kind in 1997. The basic facts can look a bit dry, Type 993, 450 bhp, 3605cc air-cooled flat six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers and electronic fuel injection, six-speed manual transaxle, front and rear independent suspension with coil springs, and four-wheel ventilated steel disc brakes, however, the Turbo S was a big step up over the standard 911 Turbo in terms of performance and price. Headlined by a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds, the Turbo S could hit 100 mph from a standstill in 8.9 seconds, only half a second faster than the standard Turbo. But that didn't matter, the Turbo S was special and getting your name on the waiting list to buy one was nigh on impossible unless you were very closely related to a Dealer Principal. All 345 examples of the 993 Turbo S were built by Porsche's Exclusive department and the specification included a number of unique features when compared to other 911s of the period. The car sported yellow brake callipers, a unique rear spoiler, polished five-spoke Turbo S wheels, an Aerokit front spoiler, an air intake in the rear wings, and four exhaust pipes at the rear. Inside, the 911 Turbo S luxuriated in carbon fibre trim contrasting with the softest of leathers and provided the type of luxury that customers had come to know and love from Porsche's top-shelf models. We are pleased to offer this super rare 'C16' right-hand drive UK-supplied Porsche 911 (993) Turbo S, one of only 26 delivered in this configuration. Supplied new through Porsche Wilmslow on 16th March 1998, this striking car is finished in Pastel Yellow (colour code: Q1Q1) with a full black leather interior which includes touches of carbon fibre in the cabin. Optional equipment included sports seats, top tinted windscreen and a sunroof. This car has been well-serviced over the years, with the service book (a replacement) having been stamped 15 times, all by Official Porsche Centres, with all but 2 services having been carried out at the supplying dealer. There are multiple invoices included in the history file which document the works at each interval, with the most recent service having been done in November '17, some 126 miles ago. Now showing 71,163 miles on the odometer, this car is supplied with its book pack, manuals, a UK V5c and MoT tested until 3rd July 2019. Our vendor has owned this beautiful car for 16 years, and with infrequent use recently he has decided that it's time to offer this rarity for sale. As one of the last air-cooled 911s, the Turbo S is one of the most powerful models to have worn the 911 moniker and as a result makes it hugely desirable and collectable. Of the 26 UK-supplied Turbo S models produced, there can't have been many in Pastel Yellow, and we urge you to come and view this rarity in person.

1990 Porsche 911 (964) Carerra 4

Lot # 239 (Sale Order: 39 of 42)

Finished in Guards Red over a light Cream Leather interiorJust 83,000 miles supported by a detailed and comprehensive service history fileFitted from new with a number of Sport options including three-piece alloys and rear spoilerFull engine rebuild not long completed. Fresh MoTWhen the 964 was first brought to market, Porsche were keen to emphasise that, although it was patently still a 911, it was in fact 85% different from the outgoing model. The design featured more integrated bumpers and a host of mechanical changes, most significant of which was the availability of four-wheel drive. The displacement was now up to 3600cc, producing 250bhp, power steering and ABS brakes were now fitted as standard, and the torsion bar rear suspension was replaced with coil springs and shock absorbers. Careful attention to the aerodynamics reduced the drag coefficient down to 0.32, and with virtually zero lift, stability and road holding at high speed were greatly improved. A new feature was the retractable spoiler which automatically extended at 50 mph and in addition to seriously increasing downforce, also doubled the volume of cooling air fed into the engine compartment. Fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, most variants were reputed to be capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of over 160mph. H583 DUF was first registered on the 26th of October 1990 and was clearly ordered with a very high specification which included genuine RS Club Sport three-piece Speedline wheels along with a Club Sport Steering Wheel, Mirrors, Rear Spoiler, and Body Kit. Presented in the traditional Guards Red with a Cream Leather interior, it's predominantly an original car having been cosseted all of its life. It's supplied with a full Porsche Service History kept within a Black Leather presentation folder alongside all of its MoT Certificates, some old tax discs, and a file of actual receipts detailing the upkeep of this stunning Porsche. The current custodian of this 964 is an ex-F1 Technician and, being a bit of a perfectionist, decided to utilise his hard-won skills by fully rebuilding H583's engine although it didn't actually require it. The car has only covered a few miles since the rebuild which is supported by a ream of parts invoices from the Porsche Centre at Kendall. At the same time, the gearbox was overhauled with the whole drivetrain inspected and fluids changed making sure that the car was in top form with a new lease of life. Having laboured over every detail, our vendor believes that the engine itself is now in better shape and presents better than when it was new and from the photographs, it certainly appears immaculate. The wheels have been polished and treated to a brand new set of Pirelli P Zeros moulded to an original 1990 pattern. The cabin is said to be in fine fettle and untouched and, pleasingly, is still fitted with the original Radio Cassette Player. The car has been inspected by PCGB in more recent times and they have given it a rubber stamp in terms of authenticity, originality, and panel gaps, making this car a serious contender if you are looking for the best 964 you can find.

1968 Porsche 912

Lot # 240 (Sale Order: 40 of 42)

Sympathetically restored to a very good standard, owned for 30 years prior to importPurchased by a Porsche enthusiast with over 20 years racing experience including 24h Daytona and 24 Le Mans works drivesJust under 42,000 miles showing, attractive burgundy metallic bodywork with correct black leatherette interiorRevered for their excellent balanced handling, a short-wheel-based Porsche for sensible moneyThe Porsche 911 was introduced in 1963 to great acclaim and has become one of the world's most enduring sports car designs. In replacing the 356, customers immediately noticed the differences from its predecessor, as in addition to being more modern and more powerful, it was also considerably more expensive, especially in the US. In Europe too, this was a problem, so to remedy this, a year after 911 production commenced, Porsche had a bit of a rethink and introduced the similarly bodied 912 as an entry-level/transitional model with the new car entering production in April 1965. Essentially a 911 fitted with the well-established 1600cc 356-type flat four, the 912 was a very capable modern sports-car in period, but was importantly more affordable, selling at near-356 prices. The 912 produced 90bhp, some 40 horsepower less than the 911's six-cylinder engine, but this deficit was offset by significantly reduced weight, resulting in a better-balanced car with greatly improved road manners and better economy. The combination of the four-cylinder engine and the 'slippery' 911 shape was capable of achieving 30 mpg. This new model had all the looks and style of the 911 whilst sharing its gearbox, monocoque steel chassis, independent front torsion bar and trailing arm rear suspension, and all-round disc brakes. Despite being down on power, the agile 912 had a respectable top speed of 119mph, while the UK list price of £2,467 undercut the 911 by around 16%. A little over 30,000 examples were produced at Karmann's works (Porsche's factory was fully occupied with the 911) between 1965 and 1968, and today the 912 is a relative rarity when compared with its better-known sibling. The car presented here is a left-hand drive, short wheelbase, 1968 (model year) Porsche 912, and although not matching-numbers, is fitted with a correct year 912 unit. Imported from California in 2014, the car is now UK-registered, with a current MoT, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a driver's manual, tool kit, and spare wheel. Our vendor confirms that the car is in excellent driving condition, being mechanically strong and rust-free, it starts well and the transmission is smooth and responsive. It's attractively finished in a striking Medium Burgundy Metallic with good panel gaps and the interior, refinished with the correct black leatherette, is also in fine order. As enthusiasts know, these 912 models are becoming more and more desirable, with good examples becoming much harder to find. This delightful 912 is certainly a practical classic that could be lovingly used for many years to come.

2005 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo S Coupe (manual)

Lot # 241 (Sale Order: 41 of 42)

One of only 1,500 produced PCCB Porsche Carbon Ceramic BrakesService book with 9 stampsDesirable manual gearbox, C16 UK carThe car will come freshly serviced and with a new MOTThe 911 (996) Turbo offers genuine supercar performance in a compact and practical package. The turbocharged version of the 996 appeared in 2000, three years after the normally aspirated 996 had replaced the much loved 993 and was as radical a departure from the 993 Turbo as its, opinion-dividing sibling had been. Arriving with four-wheel drive as standard, a water-cooled engine, a smooth new bodyshell and a radically updated cabin, the new 996 Turbo was a thoroughly sophisticated, all-weather, competent supercar and although it went out of production in 2005, in real terms it's still as quick as anything on the road.Water cooling, a first for Porsche, allowed an engine redesign that included four valves per cylinder, enabling higher power outputs to be achieved with much better fuel economy. Although the Turbo is water-cooled it's not the same engine that's in the regular 996. The 3.6-litre Mezger engine in the Turbo can trace its ancestry back to the old air-cooled units and is directly related, not only to the 996 GT3, but also the GT1 racer with 3.2 litres and 600bhp. This engine has proved virtually bulletproof and the standard 420bhp can be comfortably extended to 500bhp with confidence.Boasting a production run of just 1,500 units, the 996 Turbo S came at the very end of the 996 production cycle in 2005 and was given the full house treatment of options. The engine was essentially the same as the standard Turbo but was fitted with VarioCam Plus, a further development of the familiar VarioCam system, which changes both the intake camshaft timing (by as much as 25degrees) as well as the intake valve lift. Bigger turbos, from theX50 Powerkit, were fitted boosting power to 450bhp and the car's top speed broke through that magic 300km/h barrier, with a maximum of 190mph (307km/h) placing it firmly in supercar territory. PCCB Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes were fitted to the 'S' as standard. This Porsche 911 (996) Turbo S is a UK-supplied (C16), manual gearbox car first registered in March 2005. Ordered in Polar Silver with ruffled blue leather it has covered 53,000 miles and has a comprehensive service history with the service book showing 7 Porsche main dealer stamps and the most recent 2 with a well known Porsche specialist. It will be freshly serviced and have a shiny new MoT before the sale ready to enjoyed by its new owner.

Although the Turbo is water-cooled it's not the same engine that's in the regular 996. 1986 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera

Lot # 242 (Sale Order: 42 of 42)

A stunning left-hand drive 3.2 showing only 32,700 miles. One owner in the US until our UK vendor acquired it in 2016. Now in European specification and recent Concours winner.Launched in 1984, these were the ultimate 1980's sports cars. The 3.2 Carrera is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963, before being replaced by the 964 series in 1990. These final cars were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche's original design. The all-alloy flat-6 engine, which had been fuel injected since 1971 received a final stretch to 3,164cc, giving a torquey 231hp, enough to propel the lithe and slippery coupe to over 150mph, with 0-60mph coming up in 5.6 seconds. This stunning, left-hand drive 911 3.2 Carrera is showing only 32,700 miles and was originally delivered to the United States where it was enjoyed by one owner. With the car are the.original purchase invoice from the Porsche dealer and the spec sheet from 1986. Our vendor acquired the car in 2016 with an indicated mileage of 31,539 and registered it to these shores in September of that year. Since then he has taken the decision to re-present the car in a European specification (USA spec lights and overriders boxed) and the accuracy of his efforts and his patent attention to detail has resulted in well-deserved success at recent PCGB Concours d'Elegance at Chatsworth with 2nd place (Aircooled) in 2017 and 1st place (Aircooled) this year. It may only be a simple 3.2 Carrera but the deep shine in the Black coachwork and the pristine interior make it into a real head-turner.We understand that the Sunroof, Air-Con and the factory fitted radio are in good working order. Supplied with a good history file, Service book with stamps. original tools and tyre compressor, and the normal books and manuals, this lovely example offers its new custodian entry-level Porsche ownership delightfully wrapped in that classic 1980's silhouette.
