Good condition some wear on cover, title rubbed, inside a few inner pages are tanned including page with full signature of Kathleen Burke.

Arab Interlude by Kathryn Hulme, Published by Philadelphia Macrae Smith (1930). Nice travel memoir by two young American ladies in Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Illustrated by Helene Vogt with 75 handsome woodblocks. Good condition, no dustjacket. COMES WITH AUTHENTIC LTTERS BY KATHERYN HULME - Amazing reading, some from the 1920's, four long letters from Hulme, one letter "saving the money to get me again to Paris where I can fall in love with every sleep coiffed woman of chiselled visage, and with every dark eyed student touring through his inevitable bi-sexuality!", "I don't mean the poor perversion of the homosexual, I mean great roistering bi-sexuality... the sort of dangerous ominiscience that makes one fall in live with all things". This is just a paragraph. Four very LONG letters, amazing reading. The writer Kathryn Hulme made significant contributions to the humanitarian efforts in Europe after World War II as an administrator with the United Nations Relief and Refugee Agency (UNRRA); she wrote a number of books exploring life during and after the war, including The Wild Place (1953). AMAZING LOT.

Two 1918 WW1 Letters - One on French Decorative Hotel Stationary. One envelope is in good condition, one has tear on back. As shown, from a G. MILAN SMITH to family in New Hampshire writing from the M.J.C. Reception Park in France. At a Reception parkVehicles were unloaded, uncrated and assembled at these parks, then assigned a registration card and markings. Detailed records were kept on each vehicle's whereabouts and conditions. Vehicles and spare parts collected in these parks awaited assignments to specific army units as requested. With the exception of the highest-ranking officers, no officer had his own personal car during the war. A large reception park was located in St. Nazaire France - this letter was written 40 miles away in Nantes France.

New Edition on the 25th anniversary of the deadly fire. Good with good dustjacket. The Cocoanut Grove was Boston's premier nightclub during the post-Prohibition 1930s and 1940s. On November 28, 1942, this club was the scene of the deadliest nightclub fire in history, killing 492 people and injuring hundreds more.
