Here is a 1954 Mercury Monterey Station Wagon finished in Parkland Green over complimenting Green/Ivory interior! This exceptional classic Monterey comes from the esteemed Dick Burdick collection, better known as Dick's Classic Garage based in San Marcos, Texas. After his passing February 2018, his outstanding collection, totaling nearly 100 cars dating from 1901-1959, was sold to fund the Richard L. Burdick Foundation, an educational organization helping with grants and scholarships to deserving individuals and charities in need. Mr. Burdick was an avid car enthusiast, who sincerely loved to drive his cars participating in The Great American Race (predecessor to the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty) 25 times, earning Grand Champion honors 5 times, and World Class Champion in 1995! An astonishing accomplishment within the automotive world!

In frame off fashion, this classic Monterey for sale was treated to a stunning nut & bolt restoration in approximately 2005/2006. The frame has been fully repainted and fitted with new brakes, fuel system components, and suspension system. The body was stripped and brilliantly painted in period correct Parkland Green (originally Granby Gray) showing superb results. The exterior faux wood side trim consists of factory correct Di-Noc mahogany centers highlighted in ash wood simulated trim. Inside the cabin, the interior matches beautifully in Ivory and Green with a fully carpeted interior floor. The entire car was fully rewired with correct cloth-covered wiring harnesses, but converted to a complete 12-volt, negative ground generator charging system for optimum lighting and amperage.

1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Hertz Rent-a-Racer

Lot # 127

ABSOLUTE PERFECT RUNNING AND DRIVING 1996 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT350 HERTZ!
  • Barnfind in Quitman, MS with 81,438 Miles
  • Hertz Sports Car Club members could rent for $17 a day and .17 a mile
  • Cobra 289 High-Performance V8
  • 306 HP and 329 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-6 in 6.6 seconds with and standing quarter mile in 15.2 seconds at 93mph
  • Impeccably restored with attention paid to the highest detail
The 1966 Ford Shelby GT350-H became a legend from the moment it was introduced. It wasn?t just the design that created such a buzz ? it was also the incredible opportunity given to regular working-class people to be able to rent these dream sports cars through Hertz.

Over 50 years ago, in September of 1965, the General Manager of Shelby American, Peyton Cramer, and the Hertz Corporation came to a brilliant business agreement: They would offer the 1966 GT350-H as a rental car through the now-famous Hertz Rent-a-Racer Program. This deal created 1,000 Shelby Mustang GT350-Hs for use in the Hertz rental fleet, allowing customers to do more than just rent a standard rental vehicle for their needs.

A brochure from 1966 introduced the cars to eager renters, These cars are available to business travelers who want a change of pace in motoring, by sports car owners away from home and by vacations who consider driving an enjoyable sport.

The Rent-a-Racer Program inspired more customers to rent with Hertz (who wouldn?t jump at the opportunity to rent their dream car for the weekend), while also creating more potential buyers for Shelby Mustang ? talk about a genius business idea.

Members of the Hertz Sports Car Club in 1966 who were 25 years of age or older would simply pay $17 per day and 17 cents per mile (a pretty great deal for the time) and get to drive away from the Hertz lot in a performance 306 horsepower Mustang fastback. For most drivers, this was a chance to sit in the driver?s seat of a luxurious and powerful vehicle for a great deal?when purchasing that model may have been out of their price range.

You are looking at an outstanding example of the car GM never built! A 1966 Chevrolet Nova convertible built on a 1963 convertible platform. This car underwent extensive custom body work in order to fab on a 66' front and rear clip to a 63' convertible.

The overall fit and finish is top notch as this entire build was done by professionals in the industry. The undercarriage shows how high quality the build is with custom sub-frame connectors and everything else being extremely clean and well presented. The car is sitting on very nice Hurst 15in wheels with Front 195/55/R15 and rear 205/55/R15 tires. The stance of the car is simply sinister and unique to the build.

Under the hood sits a nicely detailed 350 cubic inch V8 with all the right speed parts; MSD electronic ignition, aluminum heads, and a simply great sounding ceramic coated dual exhaust system. You will not find a single bolt anywhere on this car untouched. This motor paired with a 4-speed in a custom one-off convertible is breathtaking to say the least. Lot # 112

  • 31,620 Miles
  • Offered from the William B. Ruger Jr. Collection
  • Among the rarest of its kind, 1 of 1,684 built
  • Cosmetic restoration with specially reproduced correct upholstery
  • Accompanied by a copy of its factory build sheet
  • An outstanding potential CARavan automobile
  • CCCA Full Classic
This particular Series 60 Special was sold new by Bob Feferman Motor Sales of South Bend, Indiana, as noted in its factory build sheet. William B. Ruger Jr. acquired it from longtime fellow CCCA member Ray Levy of Frankfurt, Illinois, in whose ownership it had undergone considerable mechanical sorting, including a rebuilt transmission and cosmetic restoration. Once acquired, additional work was undertaken by Chris Charlton?s Classic Car Services of Oxford, Maine, to Mr. Ruger?s usual perfectionist standards; for example, leather was sourced with a grain similar to what was used by GM for the seat-bottom and seat-back upholstery in place of the original cloth. The result made a wonderful comparison to the V-12 and V-16 Cadillacs in the Ruger fleet as Cadillac?s most modern Full Classic statement in engineering and design.

1956 Ford Sedan

Lot # 123

  • Formerly of the Richard L. Burdick Collection
  • Rare 225 bhp Thunderbird Special Station Wagon
  • Special order color combination
  • Texas built and delivered; a true Lone Star wagon
This 1956 eight-passenger Country Sedan is quite unusual, having the 225 bhp, 312-cu. in. Thunderbird Special engine seldom installed in wagons. The car?s data plate indicates a special order of Buckskin Tan, a dark shade resembling coral, and White, combined with light and dark brown vinyl interior. The latter features a cattle-brand motif on the seats, particularly appropriate for a Texas wagon. Built at the Dallas plant on 2 March 1956, it bears a Powell Motors dealer emblem. A freshened original car, it features Ford-O-Matic transmission, power steering, heater, electric clock, push-button radio, and wire motif wheel covers. Driven fewer than 80,000 miles, it presents very well inside and out.
