Thick pressed wax finish over paper mache form with rich gleaming brown complexion depicting a young boy with up-tilted head, large glass brown side-glancing eyes, highly...more characterized expression, fleecy wig, padded cloth body over metal armature, wax hands, the boy is wearing flannel baseball uniform with red felt letters A.J., matching socks and cap, shoes. Generally excellent, hands are worn. Mary McEwen, circa 1920, according to oral history she had intended to make a complete boy's baseball team.

18" Very Rare German Mohair Blue-Eyed "Petsy" Bear by Steiff. $2500/3500

Designed as baby cub bear, the center seam teddy has light brown curly mohair, excelsior filling, elongated nose, stitched light brown nose tip, grand-sized blue glass ey...morees, over-sized stitched ears, shortened torso, elongated arms with shoulder disc-jointing, hip disc-jointing, felt paw pads, with original Steiff underscore button in ear. Fair/good condition, some thinning of mohair at muzzle and left arm, few old repairs to paw pads. Germany, Steiff, the baby bear marketed as Petsy and with unique facial modeling and grand eyes was introduced in 1928, and is very rare.
