This hand-painted production cel is a "ONE OF A KIND" piece of art that was actually used in the making of the animated television commercial. This two-cel set-up comes with the two matching original production drawings. The piece may get stuck to the paper drawing and care should be taken if seperated. THIS GREAT SET OF 2 "HORTON HEARS A WHO!" PRINTS WOULD BE PERFECT FOR ANY DR. SEUSS FAN! These 2 awesome animation prints are a tribute to the 2008 CGI- animated film "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!". One print features the star Horton the elephant and is Hand Signed by the artist Scott Beaderstadt. The second print gives us Horton's friend/student Tommy and is Hand Signed by his voice Jonah Hill. They both measure 8 ½"x 11" and each come with a Certificate of Authenticity. This would make an excellent addition for any collection or as a gift for a fellow collector. Horton the Elephant , voiced by Jim Carry, is that rare grown-up that never lost the rich imagination he had as a child. It was that imagination along with his unwavering dedication that makes Horton a great teacher, unconditional friend and a force to be reckoned with. He is usually found saying the most sentences of comedy ("We're all mammals!" "An elephant never forgets."). Walter Lantz Bio: Early years and start in animation Walter Lantz was born on April 27 , 1899 (some sources incorrectly list his birth year as 1900 ) in New Rochelle, New York into a family of Italian immigrants , his parents being Francesco Paolo Lantz (formerly Lanza) and Maria Gervasi (later Jarvis), the latter coming from Calitri , Italy. According to Joe Adamson in his book The Walter Lantz Story , his father was given the Lantz name by an immigration official upon his arrival in the United States. He got his first taste of animation when he watched Winsor McCay 's cartoon short, Gertie the Dinosaur . This, perhaps, inspired him to become a cartoonist himself later on. THIS LIMITED EDITION SERICEL ENTITLED "BEWARE THE EYES OF MARS" IS A COLLECTORS DREAM FILLED WITH STUNNING EYE CATCHING COLOR! This is a stunning sericel with timeless imagery of Marvin the Martian, one of the most adorable Loony Tunes cartoon characters in history! "Beware the Eyes of Mars" is a Sold Out Limited Edition animation sericel that includes Certificate of Authenticity attached in verso! It measures 25" x 10 ½" and is in pristine condition. This sericel is from the 1963 film "Mad as a Mars Hare". Just as many of our astronomers and scientists gaze at Mars, this scene shows Marvin continuing his preoccupation with Earth and man, whom he refers to as the most interesting insects on Earth. This sericel comes with a Seal of Authenticity by Linda Jones Enterprises in the lower right corner. BIO: Chuck Jones was born in 1912 in Spokane , Washington . He was raised in Hollywood where he witnessed the talents of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. As a child he occasionally worked as an extra in Mac Sennett comedies. Jones graduated from Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles (now California Institute of the Arts). He often drew pencil portraits for the price of one dollar each and sold them on Olvera Street . In 1932, Jones got his first job as a cel washer for Ubbe Iwerks, a former Disney Animator. In 1936 Jones began working for Leon Schlesinger Studio (later sold to Warner Bros.) after being hired by Friz Freleng as an animator. After Warner Bros closed Jones briefly worked for Disney before moving to MGM where he worked to create new episodes of Tom and Jerry and directed features such as The Dot and the Line, which went on to win an Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
