Walt Disney's DuckTales was the first daily animated cartoon show to air weekdays on the Disney Afternoon. DuckTales debuted in 1988. The 1988 - 1989 season consisted of 65 episodes. The next season (1989 - 1990) included an additional 35 episodes, totaling 100. DuckTales is an extremely unique and original cartoon. Episodes such as "Sweet Duck of Youth," "Dr Jekyll and Mr. McDuck," "The Golden Fleecing" and many more play off of legends, literature, and actual historic events.
