Mouse Works Disney Drawing Orig + Production Cel Minnie

Lot # 10130 (Sale Order: 31 of 550)

This is an original production animation cel from the Disney TV show Mouse Works.  Mickey Mouse Works was created to recreate the golden age of Disney's animated shorts, featuring some of Disney's most popular characters. By using basic colors and the original sound effects, tremendous effort was put forth to capture the look and feel of classic Disney.  Each half-hour episode consisted of a variety of cartoons, varying in length from ninety seconds to twelve minutes. These shorts fell into three general types: the brief gag cartoons, the longer character-based cartoons, and the more classically-based "Mouse Tales" (usually the show's longest segment). The character-based segments also included "Silly Symphonies," carrying on the tradition of that series of theatrical shorts.  There is a matching original production drawing overlay that is on top of the cel.  Production cel: A hand-painted animation cel that was actually used to create one frame of an animated scene that appeared in a cartoon.  Shown here is Minnie with a puzzled look on her face. Original Production Cel Art with Background Copy Original "rough" animation drawing, with the notations in black.  Minnie has been penciled in with black. To create production cels, the original animator's drawing is transferred onto an acetate cel (by hand-inking and/or photo copying). The cel is then hand-painted on the reverse side.  The background accompanying this set-up is a hand-painted original production background. The cel and background are ready to be matted and framed.  The animator's notations are shown at the bottom of the background and cel; the cel is unevenly trimmed.  There is a protective cel that is on top of the background.  The cel and background have been stored and rolled.
