Group Of Four Antique Glass Target Balls

Lot # 316 (Sale Order: 301 of 440)      

Offered here for your consideration is a group of four antique glass target balls. Embossed Van Cutsem - St. Quentin, St. Quentin is a community in northern France and Van Cutsem was a Belgian gun dealer for whom these target balls were likely made. These were the predecessors of the clay pigeon. They were used by the gentlemen shooters of the day to demonstrate or hone their marksmanship and were also used widely in Wild West shows and other exhibitions. They are hard to come by today intact like this. Bid now on these highly collectible and hard to find glass targets.

World War One Era Troopers Hat, U.S. Holster and Cavalry Photos

Offered here for your consideration are a World War One era trooper's hat, a U. S. 1911 holster and a bunch of Cavalry photos which are all pre-WWII. The hat, holster and photos were the property of Harry S. Brown, a sergeant in the 13th U.S. Cavalry who was present in Columbus, NM when it was attacked by Poncho Villa and later served in World War 1. The hat and holster are in nice condition considering their age and the pictures of Cavalry action are amazing, indicating that the Cavalry was an active arm of the military at that time. PROVENANCE: Brought to us by an older man who knew Harry S. Brown in his youth.

Deer Lodge Horsehair And Calf Skin Bridle and Silver Bit

Lot # 320 (Sale Order: 304 of 440)      

Offered here for your consideration is an antique Deer Lodge hitched horsehair and calf skin bridle with a nice silver inlaid half breed bit. The bridle and reins are woven from hitched horsehair and calf skin with red background rosettes with a running horse.  The bit has silver inlay with flowing lines and large floral engraved silver conchos. Deer Lodge Montana's horsehair braiding program was a key among the various programs devised by warden, Frank Conley, to keep inmates busy and out of trouble. Horsehair items have been woven at the prison since the 1890s. This is a great item for your collection or decor, so bid now!

Deer Lodge Hitch Horsehair Belt With Colt Buckle Set

Offered here for your consideration is a nice Deer Lodge hitch horsehair belt with a Colt buckle set. Elongated diamond designs are skillfully woven to decorate the length of this belt. The belt has Francolin sterling hardware consisting of a buckle, keeper and tip honoring Colt. Deer Lodge Montana's horsehair braiding program was a key among the various programs devised by warden, Frank Conley, to keep inmates busy and out of trouble. Horsehair items have been woven at the prison since the 1890s. This is a great item for your collection or wearing pleasure, so bid now!

Antique Bird Bit And A Pair Of Spurs

Available here for your consideration is an antique bird bit and a pair of spurs. The old bird bit is decorated with chased floral designs, silver inlay and plain silver conchos/spots. The single mounted spurs have silver overlay along the heel bands and buttons. A great bit and pair of spurs for a starter collection. Bid now!
MAKER: Bit was likely a Buermann and the spurs McChesney. But both are unmarked.
APPROX AGE: Antiques (meaning made prior to the 1930s). 
SIZE: The mouth measures 5 inches wide, and is 7 1/4 inches long overall on the cheeks. The spurs measure 2 7/8 inches at the heel opening, 5/16 inches wide and the shank measures 2 1/2 inches overall.

Blanchard #6 Stainless Steel Spurs

Offered here for your consideration is a pair of E.F. Blanchard #6 stainless steel spurs. These are typical, plain, stainless steel spurs with small ten point rowels from the maker. Edward Blanchard was a cowboy and spur maker who lived and worked in New Mexico and Arizona. Blanchard produced a few patterns of spurs and his designs were unique to him in terms of the profile of the heel band, shanks and angle of the buttons. E. Garcia Bit With Studded And Engraved Shanks

Fancy E. Garcia Spade Bit

Lot # 336 (Sale Order: 320 of 440)      

Available here for your consideration is a fancy E. Garcia spade bit. Eduardo Garcia started making bits and spurs (having them produced in Mexico) in the late 1980s and continued until his death in the early 2000s. His legacy is carried on today by his grandson, who still produces bits and spurs under the E. Garcia brand. This bit has beautiful engraving on the silver inlay on the cheek pieces, as well as the slobber bar. The braces are copper wrapped and there is a small copper roller on the spade. It would make a nice display in your collection or put it to use.

E. Garcia Large Concho Bit And Two Bridle Conchos

Available here for your consideration is an E. Garcia large concho bit and two bridle conchos. Eduardo Garcia started making bits and spurs (having them produced in Mexico) in the late 1980s and continued until his death in the early 2000s. His legacy is carried on today by his grandson, who still produces bits and spurs under the E. Garcia brand. This bit has beautiful engraving on the silver cheek pieces including the two very large conchos. Along with this fantastic bit come two conchos for the bridle you decide to put it on. This bit is ready to be put to use or it would make a nice display in your collection.
