E. Garcia Tom Mix Style Spurs With Nice Straps

Offered here for your consideration is a pair of E. Garcia Tom Mix Style spurs with nice straps. Eduardo Garcia started making bits and spurs (having them produced in Mexico) in the late 1980s and continued until his death in the early 2000s. His legacy is carried on today by his grandson, who still produces bits and spurs under the E. Garcia brand. These single mounted spurs are covered from the heel band to the end of the shank in a silver floral design with twisted silver rope on the edges. In addition to the silver work, these spurs have 40 point rowels and chap guards (with their own 20 point rowels) plus two sets of jingle bobs. George Lawrence High Back Saddle

The George Lawrence Company was established in 1857 in Portland, Oregon as a saddlery and harness shop, but it was also esteemed for its holsters, cartridge belts, scabbards and other leather products related to the cowboy trade. Keyston Brothers Antique Saddle

Antique Read Brothers Saddle

Offered here for your consideration is an antique Read Brothers saddle. Established in 1883 in Ogden, Utah as J G Read Harness & Saddlery, the company has been making saddles ever since. This saddle was made for work around the turn of the last century and is a nice example of an antique working cowboy's saddle by a renowned maker of western tack. These horse hair chaps would go great with the spurs and bit in Lot #353 as the belt on the chaps is marked "Out West", just as the bit and spurs are. Shotgun chaps, sometimes called "stovepipes", are so named because of their straight and narrow legs. This style of chaps was used by the cowboys of the Old West from the 1870s. This gun belt and holster rig is constructed of quality leather that has been skillfully carved in a floral pattern. In the holster rests a nonworking prop single action Army pistol along with .45 cartridges in the cartridge loops. The George Lawrence Company was established in 1857 in Portland, Oregon as a saddlery and harness shop, but it was also esteemed for its holsters, cartridge belts, scabbards and other leather products related to the cowboy trade. Antique 101 Ranch Chuck Box

Offered here for your consideration is an antique 101 Ranch chuck box. A great piece of western and entertainment history, this chuck box was used for storing items related to cooking and eating out on the range or at the Wild West shows. It contains many original items from the days it was used. The outside is stenciled with 101 Ranch in the middle of a pair of longhorns on the top and the front is stenciled with the remainder of the steer's skull along with the letter W and the name Woody, likely the camp cook. 101 Ranch was a large cattle ranch near Ponca City, OK that was owned by the Miller Bros. It is where the 101 Ranch Wild West Show began in 1907. 101 Ranch Wild West Show began the tour circuit in New York. The Miller Bros all worked the show, but Joe Miller, the oldest brother, was an exceptional equestrian and star performer. Over the course of the show's history its cast included Lillian Smith, Bill Pickett, Tom Mix, Buffalo Bill and many others. Bid now to add this great item to your collection or decor!

Rare Pair Of Blanchard Iron Spurs From San Antonio, NM

Lot # 365 (Sale Order: 349 of 440)      

Available here for your consideration is a pair of Blanchard iron spurs (appear to be #4s) with the rare San Antonio, NM mark on them. These solid iron spurs are unadorned, except for the Indian Head penny mountings on the swing buttons. They have chap guards, six point rowels and plain leather spur straps. Edward Fred Blanchard was a true cowboy spur maker in the Southwestern part of the United States. He worked on ranches in New Mexico where he began making bits and spurs as a sideline. He eventually moved to Arizona and became a full time bit and spur maker. Items made by Blanchard have become very collectible since his passing in 1982.
MAKER: Although hard to see due to age and use, they are marked E F Blanchard San Antonio N. M. - for Edward F. Blanchard (1894-1982).
APPROX AGE: Vintage (somewhere from the 1940s to 1950s).
SIZE: The heel openings measure 3 1/2 inches, the band width measures 1 1/2 inches and the shanks measure 2 1/8 inches long overall.

Early 1900s Deer Lodge Horsehair Bridle

Offered here for your consideration is an early 1900s Deer Lodge hitched horsehair bridle. This bridle and reins are hitched horsehair with rosettes of a horse's head for accents. The Mexican bit has chevron inlays and Greek keys for decorations. Deer Lodge Montana's horsehair braiding program was one of the most known and popular inmate programs of its kind. Frank Conley, long time warden at Deer Lodge, created various programs in order to keep inmates busy as he believed it would keep them out of trouble. Horsehair items have been woven here since the 1890s. A great item for your collection or decor, so bid now!
MAKER: According to the tag attached, it is attributed to a Deer Lodge Prison inmate with last name Crusdale.
