Kids Wooly Chaps With Stand (Bear Hide)

Antique Wooly Chaps - Miles City Saddlery

These chaps retain the dark thick wool that protected a rider in colder regions and they have a leather waist band stamped Miles City Saddlery. Wooly chaps became popular in the late 1800's and remain highly collectible to this day. Designed to protect in rough country and cold, rainy weather, because of their look they became popular with Wild West Show performers and became emblematic of the old west. Deer Lodge Prison Hitched Horsehair Quirt

Offered here for your consideration is a Deer Lodge prison hitched horsehair quirt. Quirts are short riding whips carried by horseman, but this quirt is special as it comes from Montana's Deer Lodge Prison. It has colorful horsehair designs. Deer Lodge Montana Prison's horsehair braiding program was one of the best known and popular inmate programs of its kind. Frank Conley, long time warden at Deer Lodge, created various programs in order to keep inmates busy as he believed it would keep them out of trouble. Deer Lodge Prison Hitched Horsehair Bridle With Crockett Bit

Offered here for your consideration is a nice Deer Lodge Prison hitched horsehair bridle with a Crockett bit. Hitching requires a series of horsehair strands to be knotted over a string wound on a wooden dowel. The painstaking workmanship and elaborate design make this one excellent bridle. The bit is decorated with silver overlay and the bit/bridle set is fantastic! Bid on this lot for your chance at owning a truly spectacular prison made bridle with a Crockett bit!

1977 Oil On Board Painting By Henry De Keukelaere

Offered here for your consideration is a 1977 oil on board painting by Henry De Keukelaere which is being re-offered due to a non-paying bidder from a previous auction. A Native American woman dressed in decorated buckskin stands on parched land with a longhorn skull at her feet and rows of young corn plants to either side. She holds a medicine bundle above her head that is framed by a darkening moon. Against the night sky background the artist has painted a huge white cloud rushing out from the land and the leading edge of that cloud contains the fierce heads of a bear, a cougar, a lynx and a wolf. A colorful painting evoking mystery and spirit that would look very nice on your wall. Bid now!

Antique Highback Al Furstnow Saddle From Miles City, Montana

Offered here for your consideration is an antique highback Al Furstnow saddle from Miles City, Montana which is being re-offered due to a non-paying bidder from a previous auction. Al Furstnow's Saddlery conducted business from its Miles City site from 1894 until 1982. The founder, Al Furstnow, moved to California around 1922 where he built saddles for actors in early westerns. The Miles City saddlery facility was operated by his descendants until its 1982 closing. This saddle is a dark brown leather with two silver conchos. This is a saddle made with work, rather than show, in mind that would be a great add to the back of your horse, your collection or tack room decor. Bid now!

Two Sombreros Used As Set Decoration On Clint Eastwood's "Cry Macho"

Offered here for your consideration are two sombreros possibly used as set decoration on Clint Eastwood's "Cry Macho".  They appear to be in the background of the cantina/store scene with Clint Eastwood dancing with the Mexican lady. If you look closely in the movie, there are several sombreros up on the shelf. They also come with tags on them that say as much and just a verbal story of that history was passed along to the last purchaser. No other provenance known.
