Wonderful Turquoise and Sterling Silver Ketoh (Bow Guard)

Presented here is a wonderful turquoise and sterling silver ketoh (bow guard). It has a wonderful older, supple brown leather cuff or "bow guard", with a gorgeous silver plate that is set with eleven turquoise cabochons in handmade sawtooth silver bezels. The stone settings are accented with twisted wire, intricate cutouts, repousse and dazzling hand stamped designs throughout. The leather is accented with vintage coins on one side and decorative silver dots on the other. This great ketoh...look to be made by the same artist (Roger Skeet Jr) as lots 140 & 141 yet is not stamped (which commonly happens on vintage pieces). MAKER: Unmarked (possibly by Roger Skeet Jr as it looks like the same workmanship as lots 140 & 141). APPROX AGE: Vintage. SIZE:...The leather bow guard of the ketoh measures 11- 1/4 inches wide (end to end) x 4 inches tall. The silver piece/plate measures 3 inches wide x 4 inches tall. It weighs a total of 214.3 grams.
