1981 Ruger New Model Blackhawk (7.5"), 30 Carbine, Revolver, SN - 51-22275

Lot # 100

According to Ruger's Serial Number Database, this New Model Blackhawk (with transfer bar) 30 Carbine revolver was made in 1981. SPECS: 7.5" barrel, adjustable rear sight ...morepinned to the channel, Patridge front sight, smooth walnut grips with silver/ black logo medallion inlays, grooved hammer and 6-shot cylinder. CONDITION: This gun is in nice condition with a few light scratches, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Ruger Blackhawk is a six-shot, single-action revolver that was introduced in 1955. The early Blackhawk models (pre-1974) still operated the same way as the Colt SAA, in that the hammer was half cocked to load and unload, and that the firearm was not safe to carry with all six chambers loaded due to the hammer resting upon the sixth chamber. In 1973, in order to eliminate accidents occurring from the hammer jarring against a round loaded in the sixth chamber, Ruger introduced the "New Model" Blackhawk. The New Model Blackhawk did not require the hammer to be half cocked for loading and unloading, and it employed a transfer bar mechanism which prevented the cartridge under the hammer from being fired without the trigger being pulled. The Ruger New Model Blackhawk is the most advanced single-action revolver ever made. New Model Blackhawk revolvers have earned a reputation as the most durable single-action revolvers on the market today.

This M1840 bears the maker’s mark of C&J (Clemen & Jung) at the base of the blade. C&J of Solingen was a company that sold swords to the Union during the war. There are no other markings. This sword comes with the original metal scabbard. SPECS: Bare wood grip, three branch brass guard, 35.75" heavy single-edged curved blade (1.25" wide) and 41.5" overall length.

1948 (Pre-64) Winchester Model 52B Target, 22 LR, Bolt-Action, SN - 68798B

Lot # 116

According to Winchester Arms Collector Organization, this Model 52B was made in 1948. SPECS: Smooth walnut Match-Grade stock with high comb/ full beavertail forearm & oil...moreed finish, checkered metal buttplate, 27" heavy barrel with 7/8" muzzle diameter, Redfield fully adjustable rear peep sight, Redfield Olympic front globe sight, lower forearm sling/ accessory rail, scope mounts, sling rings and 5-round detachable box magazine. CONDITION: This gun is in beautiful condition with extremely light wear, has a perfect sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Winchester Model 52 is a bolt-action .22-caliber target rifle introduced in 1920. For many years, it was the premier small bore match rifle in the United States, if not the world. Known as the "King of the .22s," the Model 52 was ranked by Field & Stream as one of "the 50 best guns ever made" and described by Winchester historian Herbert Houze as "perfection in design". However, by the 1970s, the World War I-era design was showing its age and had given way in top-level competition to newer match rifles from Walther and Anschutz; the costly-to-produce Model 52, which had long been a loss leader prestige product by that time, was finally discontinued when US Repeating Arms took over the manufacture of Winchester rifles from Olin Corporation in 1980. It was produced in several styles and sub-variations (updates) which were noted by an alphabetic SN suffixes - A, B, C and D were applied specifically to changes. Sub-models & variations included: Speed Lock (1930), 52A (1935), 52B (1937), 52C (1951), 52D (1961), International Match (1969), and 52E (1969). Initially, the Model 52 was priced at $42.35 for a standard model. This was a substantial amount for a rimfire at the time. Extra-heavy barrels tacked on $25 to that price. The reason for these then-exorbitant prices was the handwork that went into each rifle. Model 52s were given lavish hand fitting and tuning, and this was a significant reason that they were consistently winners in competition. From 1920 until 1980, 125,233 Model 52s were made, which may seem light, but recall that this was a high-end premium rifle.

There were primarily two patterns made, Pattern 1 with cotton outer covering made of fabric sewn together, and Pattern 2 with a felt covering. This particular example is a Pattern 2 with olive felt covering and original red felt lining, leather sweat band and chin strap. The two aluminum badges are intact and retain all of their original paint. This helmet is marked "58-1941" (size & date) on the inside of the sweat band and "JHS" (manufacturer) on the outside of the sweat band. Shipping cost $30.00 or $10.00 with any gun purchase, or free pick up.

1917 Winchester Model 1885 High-Wall "Winder Musket", 22 LR, Falling-Block, SN - 119360

Lot # 124

According to Winchester Arms Collector Organization, this Model 1885 "Winder Musket" was made in 1917. SPECS: 3/4 Length walnut stock with straight grip & grooved forearm...more, 28" barrel, curved metal buttplate, adjustable folding ladder rear sight, ramped dovetail front sight and sling rings. CONDITION: This gun is in good condition with some various light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Winder Musket was a .22-caliber training rifle used by the U.S. Army in the early 20th century. It was the brainchild of Colonel C. B. Winder who advocated marksmanship training with a rifle of similar size and weight to a service rifle but chambered in .22 rimfire which was both economical and suitable for indoor ranges. It was made by Winchester and was based on their Model 1885 single-shot falling-block rifle. Although it was never officially referred to as the "Winder Musket", the weapon was informally named in honor of Colonel C. B. Winder. Many Winder Muskets that were purchased by the United States Ordnance Dept. were issued to American N.R.A. affiliated rifle clubs. The Winder musket was superseded by the 1922 Model bolt-action as a training rifle. It was produced as a "high wall" version and a "low wall" version, with the name referring to the height of the side walls of the action alongside the falling block and the hammer.
