The back is correctly stippled with a 3-digit marking (no maker marks) and the brass tongue is correctly integral (not applied). The brown leather belt still retains all original stitching. The entire plate appears to be authentic, but polishing may have been done in the 1950s-60s. (D) Rare U.S. Army Medical Pannier (Chest). 1937 Winchester Model 12 SKEET Grade (26" SK), 28 Ga., Pump Shotgun, 749559

Lot # 2

According to the Winchester Arms Collectors Organization serial number database, this "Pre-War" Model 12 Takedown 28-gauge "SKEET Grade" slide-action shotgun was produced...more in 1937. According to estimated factory records, fewer than 5 percent of Model 12s were manufactured in 28-gauge, with only about 2,900 produced prior to WWII. This shotgun is numbers matching receiver & barrel collar and is correctly marked "28" internally on rear of receiver collar & lifter pin, as well as the magazine band. This shotgun is marked "SKEET" on the bottom of the receiver (SKEET Grade) and also marked "SKEET" on the barrel (SKEET Choke). The barrel is correctly roll marked: "2 7/8 CHAM./ WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL -MODEL 12-28 GA." SPECS: 26" barrel with solid serrated rib & dual bead sights, select grade walnut stock with diamond cut dual-outlined checkering/ fluted comb & glossed finish, black hard-rubber grip cap marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.", black hard-rubber checkered buttpad with Winchester Repeating Arms Co. circle logo, checkered cross-bolt safety on the trigger guard, serrated receiver top and 14" LOP. CONDITION: This shotgun sports a very tasteful/light rebluing on the barrel & receiver, is in beautiful condition with very light age wear, has a clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Winchester Model 1912 (also commonly known as the Model 12) is an internal hammer pump-action shotgun with an external tube magazine and popularly named the "Perfect Repeater". Initially chambered for 20 gauge only, the 12 and 16 gauge versions were first cataloged in 1913, and the 28 gauge version came out in 1934. With forged and machined steel parts, the ultimate reason for its discontinuation in 1964 was that it was too expensive to produce at a competitive price. Special production examples were produced by Winchester & Browning through specialized gun collector purchase programs, but the original "Perfect Repeater" shotgun was never mass produced after 1964. It was offered in several grades to include: Standard Field Gun, Tournament, Riot Gun, Trench Gun, Trap, Heavy Duck, Skeet, Pigeon and Super Pigeon. The 28-gauge version was built on a 20-gauge frame and was produced from 1934-1960. In 1950, the 28-gauge Field Grade was discontinued "as a standard offering" while the Skeet Grade continued to be offered until 1960. The Model 12 28-gauge is the most valued by collectors with so few produced. It has been mentioned as one of today's top five "investment grade" shotguns due to the continuous popularity of Model 12s in the American market throughout the years. According to the current Blue Book Of Gun Values, a Winchester Skeet Grade Model 12 28-gauge has a fair market value of $3,850 - $11,750 depending on condition with 10% added for a solid rib model. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.

The Type 14 Nambu is chambered for the 8×22mm cartridge and gets its name from the year it was produced - the 14th year of the Taisho era, or 1926, and were used mostly by officers who had to pay for their pistols themselves. From 1927, it was a standard issue sidearm for officers and used through WWII. It is believed that around 400,000 Type 14 Nambus were produced, but the exact number is unknown as Japanese soldiers considered their weapons property of the emperor, and many chose to destroy their pistols or throw them into the ocean to avoid them falling into enemy hands. NECKAR" (factory & patents office) on the right sight, "515446" (serial number) on the left side of the receiver flat/ rear frame & rear rocker, "5446" (partial serial number) on the bolt handle, "446" (partial serial number) on the hammer & lower sight leaf, "2563" (non-matching serial number) on the bolt stop, German proof stamp on the left side of the barrel flat, "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF AN" on the top of the barrel flat and various German proof stamps. This pistol is import marked by "KFS". SPECS: 3.9" barrel, ribbed walnut "Broomhandel" style pistol grips, adjustable folding tangent rear sight, fixed front post sight, lanyard stud, grooved rear strap for a shoulder stock and 10-round stripper clip fed internal box magazine. CONDITION: This pistol is in nice condition with light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The German arms manufacturer Mauser produced the C96 pistol from 1896 to 1937 in a variety of variations for military & commercial sales. It was used by many countries, including Germany, Spain, China, and the Soviet Union. The distinctive characteristics of the C96 are the integral box magazine in front of the trigger, a grip shaped like the handle of a broom and a wooden shoulder stock which doubles as a holster or carrying case. The grip earned the gun the nickname "broomhandle" in the English-speaking world, and in China the C96 was nicknamed the "box cannon" because of its rectangular internal magazine and because it could be holstered in its wooden box-like detachable stock. The Treaty of Versailles (signed in 1919) imposed a number of restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Pistols for German government issue or domestic market sales could not have a barrel longer than 4 inches and could not be chambered for 9 mm cartridges. Mauser manufactured a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale from 1921-1930, known as the Model 1921. It featured smaller grips, a shorter 3.9 inch barrel, and was chambered for the standard 7.63×25mm Mauser. It was sold in quantity to armies in the contested Baltic region and was carried by the Poles, Lithuanians, German Freikorps and White Russians. The Bolshevik government (and later the new Red Army) of the embryonic Soviet Union purchased large numbers of this model in the 1920s and also appropriated them from defeated enemies. The distinctive M1921 pistol became associated with the Bolsheviks and was thus nicknamed the "Bolo". The "Bolo" Model was also popular elsewhere, as the shorter barrel and smaller overall size made the gun easier to conceal. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.

1976 Colt-Sauer Sporting Rifle - Leupold (24"), 300 Wby. Mag., Bolt-Action, CR12681

Lot # 16

According to Colt Archives Serial Number Database, this Colt-Sauer Sporting Rifle (300 Weatherby Magnum) was produced in Germany by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in 1976. SPECS: Glos...moresed walnut Monte Carlo stock with deep-cut skip-line checkering & fluted high comb with raised cheek, Rosewood forearm tip with white spacer, Rosewood grip cap with Rampant Colt medallion inlay & white spacer, black textured rubber ventilated recoil pad with embossed COLT SAUER SPORTING RIFLE & black/ white spacers, high luster polished blued receiver with a Magnum Action , 24" barrel with recessed crown & high luster polished blued finish, grooved trigger with adjustable stop, detachable box magazine with high luster polished blued finish, sling studs and mounted Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10 scope. CONDITION: This rifle is in beautiful condition with no wear to speak of, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Colt-Sauer bolt-action rifle was produced in Germany by J.P. Sauer & Sohn from 1971 to 1985. These high-quality bolt-action rifles were built primarily for the American hunting market at the behest of Colt with very strict specifications. The design was unique to the time. To increase operating speed, a Colt Sauer’s bolt locks up without rotating by utilizing three internally-cammed locking lugs. These rifles are known for having a very smooth bolt travel and were advertised as “The most accurate rifle ever made,” and “These are the smoothest actions you will ever cycle & are remarkably accurate”. The bolt has a lift of 60 degrees, making the rifle easier to operate with a mounted scope. The receiver was produced in four variants: (1) Short-Action chambered for 222 Rem., 22-250 Rem., 243 Win. & 308 Win.; (2) Medium-Action chambered for 25-06 Rem., 270 Win. & 30-06 Sprg.; (3) Magnum-Action chambered for 7mm Rem. Mag., 300 Win., 300 Weatherby Mag. & 375 H & H; (4) Safari-Magnum only chambered in 458 Win. Mag. All variants offered sleek lines and clear attention to detail from end-to-end. While Sauer was building the specific rifles at the behest of Colt, that was for the American market. The design held an allure for Europeans as well. Sauer produced the Model 80 for its home market. Shortly thereafter, whether at the prodding of Colt or not, Sauer incorporated enough minor design changes to re-brand as the Sauer Model 90 and 92 for the European market. These rifles were built with essentially the same action, but each offered small part changes, aesthetic options, and caliber additions. Production continued on these European wonders until the early 2000s, a much longer run than that of the Colt Sauer. Rumors from Colt historians indicate that Colt provided the wood to Sauer for use on all Colt Sauer-branded guns for both control and continuity in the rifle’s appearance. This would make sense, as the rifles produced solely by Sauer use a more varied repertoire of stock types and finishes. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders.

The manual safety was eliminated in the fourth variation. A ‘Patent’ mark on the left side of the slide was eliminated within the last two variations. The JP Sauer & Sohn Model 38H was a well made and reliable pistol that served the German forces and police very well during World War II. It has become a very popular pistol among collectors due the low production, as well as its unique design and features. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US.
