ONLINE-ONLY BIDDING INFO

Lot # 0

This is an Online Only "Timed Auction" with a "soft closing" and the only way to bid is through ProxiBid. When lot #1 goes "Live" at 10:00am CST there will be a 60 second...more time clock that will reset every time a new bid is placed, once there has been no bids for a full 60 seconds that lot will close. TWO NEW LOTS WILL GO "LIVE" EVERY 60 SECONDS, the software WILL NOT WAIT until one lot has closed before starting the 60 second time clock on the next lots. THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE LOTS SELLING AT THE SAME TIME throughout the day. The best way to participate is to leave "Max Bids" and let the software do the bidding for you. ProxiBid software executes the max bids, NOT THE AUCTION COMPANY, and will only bid for you up to your Max Bid price, if needed. For Example, if you leave a Max Bid on an item for $800 and that item only gets bid up to $400, you only pay $400. If you want to raise your "Max Bid", the software will not let you raise your current bid. This software is designed to work for you, not against you. It simply executes your bids competitively, just as if you were bidding yourself. Also note that "Live Bidding" problems can happen. For example, a slow internet connection or multiple people trying to bid at once can affect the speed at which you are viewing the auction and an item may sell before you are able to bid. So, once again, if you have not left Max Bids as a backup, you could miss out.

1979 Remington, XP-100, 221 Rem. Fireball, Bolt-Action Pistol (Case/ Manual/ Scope), SN - B7508073

Lot # 4

The Remington XP-100 is a bolt-action target pistol produced from 1962 to 1998 and was one of the first handguns designed for long-range shooting. It was noted for its ac...morecuracy and is still viewed as competitive today in the sport of handgun varminting, which it helped create, as well as in metallic silhouette shooting. The XP-100 was based on Remington's short action bolt action carbine, the Remington Model 40X, which influenced the later Remington Model 600 rifle. It was initially introduced with a 10.75" barrel set into a nylon stock with a unique center-mounted grip. The XP-100 went through a number of changes during its production run, and many variations were only available through the Remington Custom shop. The most significant changes in the later versions were to barrel length, which went to 14.5", and the grip location, which was moved to the rear of the stock. The calibers also changed with the elimination of the original 10.75" barrel. This XP-100 was made in 1979, and sports a 10.75" barrel, Mohawk Brown nylon stock with white diamond inlay/ black forearm tip & checkered grip, vent-rib, adjustable rear sight, sells with a Nikon Buckmasters 1x20 scope (mounts & rings included) and comes in original black hardcase with instruction manual. Circa 1957 Whitney, Wolverine 1 Of 13,371, 22 LR, Semi-Auto (W/ Box), SN - 23808

Lot # 8

The Whitney Wolverine is a semi-automatic .22 LR caliber pistol created in 1956, notable for its advanced, "space-aged" looks and then-new aluminum construction. The Wolv...moreerine was engineered by Robert Hillberg, who learned about aluminum casting during WWII while working with aircraft guns and later became a research engineer for High Standard Manufacturing Company. Only 13,371 of these .22 semi automatic pistols were made in its short period of production from 1956 to 1958, although sold by retailers as late as 1962. Its name, Wolverine, was after Hillberg's favorite football team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. The Whitney name was used because the factory was located near the old Eli Whitney factory site. A victim of extremely poor marketing in the beginning, financial problems and then being underpriced by $2.00 by both Ruger and Colt with their new semi-automatics .22, the company was doomed. No serial number list exists for dating, but it has been determined that SNs were sporadic and did not start a "1". This Whitney Wolverine sports a 5.75" barrel, Alcoa Aluminum frame, brown checkered Bakelite grips, silver trigger and serrated rib. This gun is in nice condition with some various light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore, appears to be in good working order and comes in original box.

1 Of 1 - 1979 Remington, 1100 SKEET-T Tournament (Makers Mark Wayne Leek), 12 Ga., SN - N195427V

Lot # 9

This Display Edition Maker's Mark Model 1100 SKEET-T Tournament Grade was made for display of the Quintessential Remington 1100 Skeet Gun at the Remington's Lordship Skee...moret Range, CT. It was manufactured in the Remington Custom Shop in 1979, and was assembled/ proofed by Wayne Leek, the principal designer of the Model 1100. This gun has a very interesting story. It was sold to a young man in 1981, when the Remington Lordship Skeet Range closed, rather than being sent back to Remington. The young man, now 68 years old, has included the full story of how he obtained the gun, which has been signed & notarized for the new buyer, as well as the original purchase receipt. The story behind the gun from the owner --- "I was brought to The Remington Arms Gun Club at Lordship Point on Long Island Sound by my uncle, godfather and namesake in 1981. Remington provided free use of guns of any gauge with every box of ammunition purchased and had an armory of several hundred guns on hand. Every few years Remington would sell off the armory stock of guns and restock the armory with new guns. Many years prior, I entered my name on the waiting list to purchase a used shotgun. The Club sold 250 guns one year, and while I was supposed to receive a gun, being less than 250 on the list, I never received one. After inquiry with the Club Manager, I was placed as #1 on the next list. When the next sell off occurred, I once again did not receive a shotgun. My uncle made inquiry with his friend, the Club Manager, who was baffled why I once again did not receive a gun. The Manager was twice embarrassed as an obvious chicanery was at work. "John", the manager said. "I do not have one gun left to sell to your godson!" "Well", replied my uncle, "You have an 1100 Shotgun in the Display Case!" "John, I could not possibly sell you that gun, it's the "Maker's Mark" display. It has to go back to Remington as the club is closing." said the Club Manager. Well the cat was out of the bag. The Club Manager then told us the venerable Lordship Gun Club was to be closed immediately, and he was ordered to sell all the guns as part of the closing. "All the guns you said?" Inquired my uncle. ''Then why not that one?" The Club Manager stopped, thought for a moment and said, wait here. He went into his office and came out with a letter which clearly said he was to sell "all the guns" presently at the club. "Well I have no instructions to return the "Maker's Mark 1100" to the Remington Museum (and now losing his own job, I did think he cared to be bothered), so I guess your son has his gun! You know, I do not think the showcase gun has ever been fired after leaving the factory! It was made to be put on display and has sat in that Display Case for several years!" The Club Manager then further looked at his instructions. Every 1100 was to be sold for the same price. So on 4/01/1981, I became the proud owner of a factory new 1100 "Maker's Mark" gun for the price of a used and worn inventory gun. Well like a big kid and a little kid, my uncle and I went right out to the range and shot the gun. I shot less than 100 rounds thru the gun before the range closed. My last round was a perfect 25 score, and considering the winds and tides of Lordship, that was no small feat. My uncle passed on a few years later, and the gun has sat in my closet unfired for the next 42 years. I am now 68 years old and downsizing. While I have an emotional attachment to the gun, it should have a better fate than to sit in my closet. I would like to find it a home with a proud collector. The gun was in the Display Case of the Remington Arms Gun Club located at Lordship, Connecticut. The gun was called a Special Edition Maker's Mark Model made for Display of the Quintessential Remington 1100 Skeet Gun at the Remington's Lordship Skeet Range."..... Features include a glossed walnut stock with deep cut Deluxe Pattern checkering & contoured forearm, black grip cap with white diamond inlay & white spacer, black ribbed buttpad with white spacer, scroll engraved receiver/ bolt, 25.75" SKEET barrel, serrated vent-rib with silver mid-bead & white front bead sight, silver action button, 2 3/4" chamber, 14.25" LOP and Wayne Leek proof marks on the barrel/ forearm & stock. This gun is in beautiful condition with light wear and appears to be in good working order.

1971 Belgium Browning, BAR Type-1 Grade-II, 30-06 Sprg., Semi-Auto (W/ Magazines), SN - 94801M71

Lot # 19

The Browning BAR is one of those key firearms which have defined the Browning mystique throughout the last century. Much of the fame of today's sporting BAR began through...more the fame of the original military BAR designed by John M. Browning near the end of World War I. Introduced in 1967, the Browning BAR Sporting Rifle is certainly a distinct and separate rifle from the military BAR M1918, but its design is the result of Browning's unmatched understanding and expertise with automatic rifles that started with John M. Browning. His grandson, Bruce Browning, was the driving force behind today's BAR. A large team of automatic firearms experts at the FN factory in Belgium also played a key role in its development. This group of FN automatic rifle designers, lead by Marcel Olinger, began serious work on the project code named "Carbine 66," with full-scale development and testing done throughout 1966 in preparation for an official 1967 product launch. The BAR rifle was initially produced totally in Belgium, and then assembly was transferred to Portugal in the early 1970s. BARs were manufactured in three production runs, also known as Types - Rifles before 1976 are called Type 1, between 1976 and 1992 are Type 2 and in 1993 the Mark II versions were introduced, which are still in production today. This Browning BAR Type-I Grade-II was made in Belgium in 1971, and sports an engraved receiver with cameos of an antelope & elk, outline checkered walnut stock with high gloss finish, black buttpad, high gloss bluing finish, 22" barrel, folding adjustable notch rear sight, hooded ramp front sight, scroll engraved floorplate, sling studs, comes with (3) 4-round magazines and sells complete with period correct Redfield 3x-9x scope. This gun is in beautiful condition with very light wear, has a nice sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order.
