1978 Marlin Model 39M (Mountie) Original Golden (20"), 22 S L LR, Lever-Action, SN - 22260072

Lot # 100

This Marlin Model 39M (Mountie) Original Golden 22 caliber lever-action rifle was produced in 1978 (SN - "22" = 1978). Features include a smooth walnut stock with fluted ...morecomb & gloss finish, black checkered buttpad with white spacer, gold trigger, 20" Micro-Groove barrel, adjustable elevator semi-buckhorn rear sight, hooded ramped dovetailed bead front sight, sling rings, 15-round tube magazine and quick take-down screw on the right side of the receiver. This gun is in nice condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. The Marlin 39A is the oldest and longest continuously produced shoulder firearm in the world. It started life as the Marlin Model 1891, the first lever-action rifle ever chambered in .22LR, and the magazine was loaded through a conventional side gate in the receiver. Due to updates, it became the Model 39 in 1921 and Model 39-A in 1939. The Golden Mountie Model 39A was introduced in 1954, and produced at various points in the rifle's life. These rifles have been alternately called Model 39M or 1897 Mountie. The Mountie featured a 20" barrel, as opposed to 24", and a straight stock. Since the early 1950s Marlin has used their proprietary Micro-Groove rifling in the Model 39A. This rifling uses many small lands and grooves rather than 2, 4, or 6 deeper grooves used by the majority of rifle makers. The rifling is also made to a 1 in 16" right hand twist. The combination of these two factors arguably adds to the accuracy of the rifle and indeed the 39A's reputation would seem to bear this out. The Golden 39A is still considered one of the finest examples of a lever .22 rifle, and one of the most accurate .22 rifles ever produced.

1973 Smith & Wesson Texas Ranger Bowie Knife Designed By Blackie Collins (NIB)

Lot # 101

This 1973 Smith & Wesson Texas Ranger Bowie Knife comes in the original wood presentation case. This New-Old-Stock knife has not been used or sharpened. In 1972, Smith & ...moreWesson was approached by the Texas Ranger Commission to build a commemorative revolver in honor of their 150th anniversary. While attending these meetings, Roy Jenks of Smith & Wesson Collectors Association, and a Smith & Wesson Historian, proposed what could be offered in the way of a commemorative handgun. At this time, the Commission was also considering the purchase of a commemorative service knife. Roy, and John Wilson, a member of the Texas Commission, developed a design similar to an early style Texas knife for a Bowie knife. This pattern was presented to Smith & Wesson, and the Bowie knife, designed by Blackie Collins, was modified closer to the style originally used and purposed by Mr. Wilson. Smith & Wesson felt an excellent entry into the knife market would be the Texas Ranger Commemorative Bowie knife. A package deal consisting of the Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver and a Bowie knife was presented. The idea was accepted, production was initiated, and in 1973, Smith & Wesson announced the Texas Ranger Commemorative. Production plans called for the manufacture of 8,000 knives cased with a Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver. In addition, 12,000 individual knives in their own presentation case were offered starting at number 8001. The Texas Ranger knife, like all the early Smith & Wesson knives, was produced from a forged 440 series stainless steel and handcrafted in a series of 47 different manufacturing operations. Each knife was serial numbered on the top of the blade beginning at serial number TR1 through TR20,000. Information is from the well-researched book, "The Knives of Smith & Wesson", by C.E. Rinke. This knife is numbered TR9440. Shipping Cost $20.00, or free with gun purchase or free pick up. If you buy multiple "knives only", there will only be one $20.00 shipping cost applied.

1915 Winchester Model 1890 (24"), 22 Long, Pump, SN - 572100

Lot # 102

According to Winchester Arms Collector Organization, this Model 1890 (.22 Long) was produced in 1915. Features include a smooth walnut stock with ribbed forearm, curved m...moreetal buttplate, 24" octagon barrel, quick take-down screw on the left side of the receiver, adjustable notch rear sight and dovetailed front sight. This gun is in beautiful condition with very light wear, has an excellent sharp/clean bore and appears to be in good working order. This gun is from the Terry Lee Brown Estate. The result was the Model 1890 pump-action which proved to be the most successful repeating rim fire rifle for general all around shooting ever made by Winchester. It was produced from 1890 to 1932, after which was replaced by the Winchester Model 62 rifle.

This 1975 Smith & Wesson Model 6030 Survival Knife W/ Sheath comes in the original box. This New-Old-Stock knife has not been used or sharpened. In 1972, Smith and Wesson...more worked with well-known and innovative knife designer Blackie Collins to introduce the company into the knife business. According to Winchester Arms Collector Organization, this Model 74 was produced in 1952. Lot # 116

This Type 1 National Match Springfield M1 Garand reflects a serial number that is within the correct range for a 1953 (first year) conditioned rifle. Markings include: Ba...morerrel - "T" (targeted), "P" (proofed), "2-53" (February, 1953) & "M" (magnetic particle testing); Barrel between the rings of the gas cylinder - "NM" (National Match); Stock (left) - boxed Eagle & Stars (Defense Acceptance Stamp); Stock under grip "P" (double proofed); Front sight - "NM/ .062"; Slide lever - "NM". Perhaps the most refined version of the M1 is known as the National Match (NM) rifle. In March, 1953, Springfield Armory was directed by the Ordnance Department to furnish 800 M1 rifles for use at the High Power National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. These rifles were to be capable of a higher degree of accuracy than standard service grade rifles. The rifles were carefully assembled and the trigger pull adjusted by Springfield Armory's most skilled armorers. National Match conditioned M1 rifles were produced at Springfield Armory through 1963. Two versions of the National Match M1 rifle exist, referred to as Type 1 and Type 2. The Type 2 is differentiated from the Type 1 by the addition of glass-bedding of the receiver and trigger housing (adopted in 1960). All National Match M1 rifles feature receivers of Springfield Armory manufacture. National Match M1 barrels were selected by meeting or exceeding specified air-gauge requirements. National Match M1 barrels are usually of Springfield Armory manufacture. However, original rifles have been observed with uLMR, HRA, and Marlin National Match marked barrels.

1974 Belgium Browning, P35 Hi-Power, 9mm Luger, Semi-Auto (Manual & Magazines), SN - 74C24395

Lot # 119

According to the Browning Serial Number Database, this P35 Hi-Power pistol was made in Belgium in 1974, (SN "C" = Hi Power "74" = 1974). Features include a 4.7" stainless...more barrel, two-piece checkered walnut grips, polished blued finish, adjustable dovetailed rear sight and grooved spur hammer. This gun comes with the original manual and (4) magazines. This gun is in beautiful condition with extremely light wear, has a nice sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. The Browning Hi-Power Pistol was introduced in 1935, based on a design by John Browning, and completed by Dieudonn Saive at Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium. The pistol is often referred to as an HP or BHP, and the terms P-35 and HP-35 are also used based on the introduction of the pistol in 1935. During WWII, production was moved to Canada as the Germans occupied Belgium, and this is where the name was changed to "Hi Power". The name change was kept even after production returned to Belgium after the war. The Hi-Power is one of the most widely used military pistols in history, having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries. Browning P35 Hi-Powers were first imported into the US in 1954. After 82 years of continuous production, FN Herstal announced that the production of the Hi-Power would end, and it was discontinued in early 2018 by Browning Arms. However, in 2022, presumably to compete with the sudden surge in Hi-Power popularity, FN announced they would resume production of the Browning Hi-Power.
