Triple S Development Co. Inc. Wickliffe Model 76 .270 Win rifle

Lot # 4004

s/n 01442, brl length 26", very good plus condition except, falling block action. SSS Dev. Co. Inc. was in business from 1976-1980 selling very expensive for its time hunting rifles that were both reliable and accurate. This example is the most famous model bearing the Liberty Bell on the barrel. The fancy walnut pistol grip stock is smooth having a left side cheek rest, medium comb, silver plated embossed grip cap with area for a monogram the space of which is currently blank and a Bishop black composite checkered butt plate. The forend is fancy smooth walnut also and the rifle is fitted with a Redfield 6x 1" tube scope on Burris mounts. The receiver/frame is plum blued and the block is machinist jeweled having a serrated trigger and hammer spur. The deep blue high gloss bluing on the barrel shows very little handling as does most of the rifle and the reason the rifle was graded very good plus except for the bore, the rifle shows very little handling and or wear. The bore is very very dirty and it is unknown whether or not it will clean up. Item is part of the Mark T. Hoke Estate. All items sold As Is per terms of the auction. Please read terms. Functionality and completeness unknown. 19-17-7

V. Kern Ideal Target Model muzzle inside diameter is .3130" rifle

Lot # 4005

s/n 10, brl length 28", very good condition, falling block action. Manufactured in Nurnberg as it is marked on the top of the barrel flat at the rear. The bore is very bright having nice rifling the barrel is octagonal with a knurled top flat marked just forward of the chamber "V. KERN NURNBERG" there is also a section just forward of that where the top flat is flared to accommodate the mounting of a scope. Underside of the barrel around the area where the forend retaining wedge slides it is marked "2 H.W. 10". The receiver/frame retain most of the case coloring with the lever retaining some as well. The rifle has a tang mounted safety and a tang mounted Diopter peep sight with large eye cap. The front sight is fixed and serrated and the top of the receiver just behind the block is marked "IDEAL" in a partial ellipse. The walnut checkered pistol grip stock has a black grip cap, composite black serrated butt plate and a left side mounted cheek rest. The forend is smooth walnut in a Schnabel style. The entire rifle shows only very minor light handling in a few spots but looks like the whole rifle was varnished, it wasn't. It likely had whale oil put on it to preserve it and when whale oil dries it looks like varnish but with a little rubbing and cleaner it will come off and not affect the underlying surface. All items sold As Is per terms of the auction. Please read terms. Functionality and completeness unknown. 19-19-24
