Excellent WWI U.S. Model 1918 Trench Periscope
complete with one rotating and one removable lens caps as well as the original leather carrying case with the original strap attached. Stamp marked "TRENCH PERISCOPE No 10/X7.5/MODEL 1918/MFG'D BY/WOLLENSAK OPT. CO./ROCHESTER. N.Y. USA./NO/8029/R.G.C". The periscope retains 96% plus original green paint with the brass surfaces showing a nice mottled patina. Folding deployable wood handle shows some light handling. One of the nicest examples of a U.S. Trench Periscope to come to market in a very long time.

The rifle has a wooden slide patch box cover dovetailed with a brass end cover and shell shaped keeper along with a custom made leather sling on steel swivels. The butt and toe plate, lock retaining plate, trigger guard, grip cap, both ramrod pipes and closed muzzle cap are all brass. The lock, hammer and barrel all appear to be in the white and the frizzen has a custom leather cover. The trigger is a set type with one straight blade and one curved. The stock is maple and has a left side cheek rest. The bore shines bright as new with only very minor handling wear present.

Metal surfaces show only minor light handling as well with the top of the receiver having a ground out crest and there is an import mark on the top of the barrel just behind the front sight. The walnut checkered pistol grip butt stock and checkered forend both show only minor light handling. The barrels are vent ribbed both in between and on top where there is a flat top having serrations and twin beads. 2.75" chambers. Very nice clean GTI.
