.257 Roberts, s/n 835, rifle, brl length 24", bolt action, excellent condition, Manufactured first year production 1936 having an upgraded Deluxe 5 panel checkered stock ...morewith black diamond inletted underside of forend and black forend tip. Steel checkered butt plate. There is a Baush & Lomb Balfur 5x32 scope mounted on a Baush & Lomb mount. Bolt is serial numbered to the rifle, original bluing on metal surfaces are in excellent condition except for a small amount of thinning on floor plate and trigger guard, the steel butt plate is in the white showing only light handling marks. There are a very few light handling marks on the wood with a brown grip cap and leather sling. Rear sight has been removed and replaced with a Williams wedge block. Bore shines bright. Beautiful example of a 3 digit serial number Model 70. 10-4-10

Parker Otto Ackley/Eddystone, Custom 1914 Action,

.358 Norma Mag., s/n 534979, rifle, brl length 24", bolt action, very good condition, P.O. Ackley the Famous Wildcat Cartridge Manufacture known for his Ackley Improved C...moreartridges custom built this example. Starting with a milled down Eddystone Pattern 1914 rifle, the rifle was sent to Kenny Jarrel? for glass bedding and has a magna port muzzle device. The walnut stock has a nicely executed checkered diamond design with single diamonds either side of wrist and 8 wrapping around the forend. There is a steel checkered grip cap and a NOSHOC red rubber butt pad. The stock is nicely figured with a cheek rest. Nikon Prostaff 2-7 vari scope on Redfield mounts. Entire rifle shows only very minor handling and the bore shines mirror bright. 10-4-9

.36 cal, s/n NSN, BP muzzleloader, brl length 36", percussion action, very good plus condition, One of a kind half stock rifle Manufactured in Northampton County Pennsylv...moreania having a beautifully executed Eagle Wing carved cheek rest into the smooth straight grip walnut stock. Brass locker plate and trigger guard are inletted into the stock with a brass butt plate, toe plate and forend tip along with German silver barrel key escutcheons. There are 2 iron pipe ramrod tubes a brass front and iron rear fixed sights set in dovetail. The lock is marked in 2 lines "J.J. HENRY/BOULTON" with some engraving. The bore has nice shine with light visible rifling. Wood shows a few light surface scratches and 1 scuff top of comb at butt plate. Octagonal barrel shows a few areas of freckling with some tool marks. Front barrel band is loose.

.640" bore, s/n NSN, BP muzzleloader, brl length 35.5", percussion style, very good condition, Northampton County Manufactured half stock fowler having smooth walnut stra...moreight grip stock and forend with steel shotgun style butt plate and brass forend grip cap, 2 iron ramrod pipes and single bead front sight. Hickory ramrod with screw extractor and brass plunger. Barrel is marked "WH" on top with "PT" on left shoulder. Receiver, barrel and trigger guard all show brown patina throughout with light flash pitting around bolster and top rear of barrel with few spots on bottom tang. Butt plate shows some freckling with a few areas of light pitting. Wood has been lightly sanded showing only minor light handling marks.

Lot # 43 (Sale Order: 48 of 980)      

10 ga, s/n 48, shotgun, brl length 31.75" Damascus, break action hammer, good condition, barrel marked "PRESENTED TO GEORGE D. MOORE 1st PLACE USMA LONG RANCE RIFLE MATCH...more MAY 22, 1888". Moore was appointed to West Point July 1, 1886 and was found guilty and was court-martialed 1889. It is unknown how Moore once found guilty and court-martialed was still able to get a degree with his class along with a commission as a Second Lieutenant and later to become a Brigadier General. Attached are all the files for George D. Moore including a photo of his grave at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. Side locks are engraved with waterfowl in flight as well as the underside of the trigger guard bow. The receiver frame, lock plates, hammers, trigger guard and rear portion of barrels are all engraved in a wondering scroll pattern. The concave solid rib is also marked W/ Richards London Laminated Steel with various inspection and proof marks under the forend which is retained by a barrel key wedge that has engraved escutcheons. Metal finish throughout is a mottled grey/brown with only a few light surface scratches to the barrels and a few light tool marks most noticeable above the "R" on the edge of the rib in the word rifle. Bore shows shien with light pitting towards breech end. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forend having round grip knob and steel butt plate show old wear with light and moderate indentations throughout and a small loss left side rear of forend. Forend also has a black tip with thinning checkering. Right side hammer is slightly loose but functions as it should. Nice example of a presentation shotgun from court-martial to Br. Gen.

Hammers are slightly loose. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with round grip knob showing indentations and a few scratches. The steel butt plate is slightly oversized with a 12.75" L.O.P. Receiver shows some case coloring with freckling as well as the back action locks. The bores have some shine with light pitting in some areas. 10-3-21

Bores have shine but show dirt. There is a gouge left barrel 4" from chamber but doesn't show inside. Solid concave rib showing a few tool marks on edges with single bead front sight. Spotty grey/brown mottled patina on receiver and locks with only a few light surface scratches. Bluing on barrels have started to patina show scattered light freckling in some areas. 10-3-10
