Walnut forend & buttstock with brand on right wrist of stock. Brass crescent buttplate & plated forend bbl. band. CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube have 70% reblued finish with lacquer over spray. Receiver is heavily polished with rounded edges, dents & scratches having lacquer over spray to imitate antique finish. Unusually nice rifle mfg. 1885. 22 Cal. rifles with the tapered pin takedown system are exceedingly rare & are usually observed in the S# range of 155,000 to 180,000. Full mag. Sporting sights. Blue finish with case colored hammer & lever. Walnut forearm & straight grip rifle stock with crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: rifle retains over 80% original blue turning dull & fading to plum on bbl. while remaining brighter on sides of action. Inside mag. tube is in very good condition. Stocks show light wear with scattered scratches & handling marks. Bbl. & action are tight at takedown point with no indication that pin has been removed for takedown. Mag. shortened to 1/2 length. Forearm cap has plugged hole for sling attachment. Top tang has plugged screws in 2 holes for sight attachment. Bottom tang screw is missing. Walnut forearm & rifle stock with crescent steel buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Museum info request stating, "Bbl. type: round. Received in warehouse on August 12, 1887.
