1969 Land Rover Series IIA 88"

Lot # 101 (Sale Order: 1 of 169)      

The Series II Land Rover replaced Series I production in 1958initially sporting the original two litre engine from the series IOnce supply ran dry the 2286cc engine was introduced which hasproven to be a popular and reliable unit ever since Designschanged over the following years with the most significant beingthe moving of the headlights to the wings in 1969 this modelstill had the hard dash familiar with other Series II modelsAlso introduced at this time was the razor style bonnet and Maltesegrill later to be followed by the plastic grill as used on theSeries III The SII and the SIIA are very difficult to distinguishThere were some minor cosmetic changes but the most significantchange was under the bonnet in the guise of the new 225litrediesel engine Body configurations available from the factoryranged from shortwheelbase softtop to the topofthelinefivedoor station wagon From February 1969 home market theheadlamps moved into the wings on all models and the sill panelswere redesigned to be shallower a few months afterwardsThis particular Series IIA is running with the four cylinder2286cc petrol engine and freewheel front hubs We are informed thateverything works as it should and that this Land Rover has a nicefeel to it The bodywork is hand painted and although it showssigns of being used it is in good order and importantly on thismodel has a good bulkhead The driver and passengers front andrear may enjoy open country motoring but a good rag top willprotect them from the elements when required It has been used bythe current owner for light country pursuits such as point to pointand the like and will arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT testcertificate Offered at no reserve we feel that this Land Roveroffers great value for money for the person looking for thatclassic 4x4 experiencenbsp

1968 Jaguar Mk.II Saloon (2.4 litre)

The lineage of the Mk II can be directly traced back to itspredecessor the 24 saloon or Mk I as it would beretrospectively known in later years This sporting saloondesigned to fill the gap in Jaguars range between the XK sportsand voluminous Mk VII entered the market in 1956 Power came fromthe legendary XK straight six twin cam engine in 2483cc form The24 was notable as being a complete break away from the previousdesigns of Sir William Lyons and Co and was their first forayinto the modern world of monocoque construction Traditional Jaguarbuyers would not feel alienated by the new offering from Coventryhowever as the interior was up to their usual standards withleather and walnut being the order of the day With 112bhpavailable to the presson motorist the 24 was not overly burdenedwith pace so Jaguars response was to come in the shape of a 34litre version which was launched in 1957 to supplement its smallerbrother in their midsize saloon range As a result 120mph was agenuinely achievable pace necessitating the introduction of discbrakes a year later to keep speeds in check Rather than introducea completely brand new car Jaguar successfully redesigned the carfrom stem to stern and the Mk II was born debuting in 1959 Thechunky windscreen pillars of the early car were replaced by slimmerofferings giving a much more airy cabin which both improved thestyling and freshened up the design for the new decadeIn need of restoration this 24 litre Mk II Jaguar is acomplete car and offers any purchaser the opportunity to turn iteither into a useable example or a concours car Sitting on wirewheels and finished in red with beige trim this automatic Jaguaris supplied with a V5C registration document With everythingappearing to be present and correct this could be a greatsummertime project

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 Ponton

The 180190 and 220220 S Ponton models looked very similar inappearance from the windscreen back to the sixcylinder somewhatlonger 220s220 S220 SE models From behind one could not easilydifferentiate even the top of the line 220 SE from a 180 but forthe longer bonnet and chrome touches The 180190 fourcylinderswere widely used as German taxis Only these shorter Pontonsfeatured lowwattage parking clearance lights at front bumper toprear A simple leftright toggle above and to the left of thedrivers knee selected which side would illuminate so as not toneedlessly run down the battery in winter Heater air intakes wereon both sides of the radiator grille only on the 120121This 190 saloon in black with deep red interior importantly isrunning and driving and appears complete The chassis and floorplanare all in good condition and thus represents a very good startingpoint for a cosmetic restoration project for any potential newowner The car is offered with a V5 registration document and theoil pressure when the engine is running is very good so arestoration project that can actually be driven and represents verygood value

1998 Mercedes-Benz C 43 AMG

The Nuova 500 was designed by Dante Giacosa who was alsoresponsible for its predecessor the Cinquecento or Topolinolittle mouse as the public immediately christened it The Nuovais a masterpiece of packaging the rearwheel drive rearenginedlayout leaving a remarkably uncluttered cabin with adequate roomfor four passengers despite the diminutive length of just 974ftAt its introduction in 1957 the little Fiat was powered by atwincylinder engine of 479cc and just 13bhp but by the time ofthe later 500 F the capacity had grown to 4995cc and the output to22bhp sufficient for a maximum speed of around 60mph combinedwith a fuel consumption of over 50mpgOriginally supplied to the Netherlands this 1967 Fiat Nuova 500F was imported into the UK in the spring of 2013 Presented inrosso red with contrasting and original two tone beige trim theinterior boasts the pretty round ivory instrument binnacle andsteering wheel The floors have retained their original rubber matswhich remain in good conditionnbsp The coachwork was subject toan older restoration which has also stood well against the test oftime The paintwork presents very well and the full folding sunroofis in excellent condition and operates easily as it should TheNuova has been carefully taken care of since entering the UK withexpenditure on rebuilt brakes new drive shafts and new frontspringsnbsp This Fiat 500 is UK registered and has an MoT testcertificate valid until mid September 2016 The history fileincludes its original documents from the Netherlands including theoriginal registration papers These small Fiats are great fun andremain remarkably practical even todaynbspnbsp

1934 Vauxhall 14 Light Six Saloon

Vauxhall the innovative British manufacturer that brought ussuch automotive gems as the 3098 lost its independence to themighty General Motors in 1925 However it took some three yearsfor the American companys financial muscle and design influence tofilter through to the showroom First came the 2060 with its OHVengine coil ignition and central gearchange then the Cadet thatboasted a synchromesh gearbox However it was the introduction ofthe Light Six models in 1933 and the Big Six range the followingyear that finally propelled Vauxhall into the world of massproduction There were two models of the Light Six 12 and 14hpand two of the Big Six 20 and 27hp A range of body styles wasoffered including saloon limousine drophead coupé and fourdoorcabriolet The Big Six sold well with some 3788 examplesdeparting the Luton factory between 1934 and 1936This Vauxhall Light Six is fitted with the 12hp engine and hashad seven owners during its 82 years on the road the penultimatekeeper owning the car for nearly 40 years The car has not beenused for some years and although the engine runs unfortunately theclutch is seized Appearing to be quite solid this Vauxhall wouldbenefit from a little time and financial investment it would makea great summertime project Supplied with a V5C registrationdocument and the original buff logbook this Vauxhall is currentlyregistered as SORNnbsp

1937 Rover 14 Saloon P1

The Rover company manufactured cars between 1904 and 1967 whenit was sold to Leyland Motor Corporation becoming the Rovermarque The Rover marque was used on cars produced by BritishLeyland BL who separated the assets of the original RoverCompany as Land Rover in 1978 whilst the Rover trademark continuedto be used on vehicles produced by its successor companies TheRover 14 was a mediumsized family car manufactured between 1924and 1948 Civilian automobile production was interrupted in 1940because of the war however when the war ended in 1945 the Rover14 returned to the market and remained available until replaced bythe Rover 75 at the beginning of 1948nbspOriginally registered on 1st October 1937 this Rover 14 hasonly had four keepers during its 8 year history The current vendorhas had the car since 31st December 1962 and is onlyselling her due to poor health In 1965 he took the car off theroad and put her into storage before commencing a restorationproject in October 1999 This was completed in July 2006 and heenjoyed using EGH 946 until a couple of years ago when the car wasstored away once more Clearly some recommissioning work will needto be carried out on this Rover 14 Saloon however we did hear theengine running and are advised that there shouldnt be any majormechanical issues The interior was retrimmed during therestoration and has aged nicely and the bodywork shows no real signof corrosion A comprehensive and interesting history fileaccompanies this P1 saloon including the original buff logbookOffered without reserve this Rover offers an opportunity topurchase an interesting piece of British motoringhistorynbspnbsp

1980 Triumph TR7 Convertible

The Triumph TR7 was manufactured from September 1974 to October1981 and was initially produced at the Speke Liverpool factorymoving to Canley Coventry in 1978 and then finally to the RoverSolihull plant in 1980 The car was launched in the United Statesin January 1975 with its UK home market debut in May 1976 The UKlaunch was delayed at least twice because of high demand for thevehicle in the US with final sales of new TR7s continuing into1982 The car was characterised by its wedge shape which wascommonly advertised as The Shape of Things to Come and by aswage line sweeping down from the rear wing to just behind thefront wheel The design was penned by Harris Mann who also designedthe wedgeshaped PrincessThis TR7 convertible was originally registered on21st October 1980 and has had just two former keepersThe car presents in excellent condition all round the silver greypaintwork is virtually unmarked and the interior is very tidySupplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT validuntil 25th October 2016 we are informed that the engineruns well with no adverse rattles or noises and that JMU 246W alsodrives well Triumph TR7s never had the strongest followingamongst the purists however they are now being recognised as amodern classic and that can only help valuesnbsp

1971 Fiat 500 L

The Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 with limitedproduction of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977 It wasdesigned by Dante Giacosa and despite its diminutive size the 500proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughoutEurope capturing the hearts and minds of the public Launched asthe Nuova new 500 it was marketed as a cheap and practical towncarnbsp Measuring only three metres long and originally poweredby a tiny 479cc twocylinder aircooled engine the 500 redefinedthe term small car and is considered one of the first citycars This fabulous little 500 Lusso offered in lovely red coachworkwas first registered in Belgium in 1971 and after spells inHolland and Ireland is now residing here in London This examplehas been subject to a recent recondition with works including newrear window rubbers and new rear bumper along with a rebuiltcarburettor invoices for which amounted to in excess of2000nbsp The history file contains Irish registrationdocuments and copy of previous Dutch registration papers togetherwith bills for works since 2013 We are informed this Fiat runs assweetly as you would expect and mechanically a genuine 910 Thecurrent owner has also obtained a certificate of provenance fromthe Fiat 500 club confirming its build date It has been lovinglycared for since its purchase resulting in a very attractiveproposition and priced very competitively for a very collectableexample of the Fiat 500?

1973 Mercedes-Benz 350 SL Roadster

The Mercedes R107 was launched in 1971 and production continuedthrough to 1989 a hefty 18 years the longest single series everproduced by the firm besides the GClass utility vehicle The R107replaced the W113 Pagoda SL in 1972 and was replaced by the R29 SLin 1989 Some 237000 R107 SLs were built and about two thirdswere sold in the US The car was essentially a twoseater sportscar although a small seating arrangement was available behind thefront seats MercedesBenz offered a number of engine choices overthe years the first cars in 1971 being fitted with the 350 enginea V8 35litre unit By 1973 a larger 45litre V8 was availableconstructed primarily for the US market The SL Roadster has sincebecome the epitome of how a luxury roadster should look and is aspopular today as when first launchedThis early 1972 example was registered in January 1973 and isoffered in the very rare combination of Aqua Blue with deep bluehard wearing MBTexnbsp We are informed that it wasprofessionally restored by a MercedesBenz specialist just nineyears ago and has seen little use since leading to a fullrecommission in 2015 by the current vendor including an oil changeservice in Novembernbsp An extremely solid and honest example ofsuch a collectable roadster this 350 SL is presented with goodchrome work interior optional additional passenger seats and avery good optional hard top Carpets were replaced just three yearsago along with a brand new deep blue hood and all electrics areworking correctly The car also comes with an MoT test certificateuntil October 2016 with no advisories at which time it was alsonoted that the car has near new brake pipes and new rear callipersAlso present is the original hand book tools for the roof and eventhe original stereo Qualifying importantly for a historic taxclassification this 350 SL Roadster is sure to make a Sundayafternoon drive even more pleasurable and can genuinely bedescribed as a classic

1979 Volkswagen Campervan Westfalia

1984 Panther Kallista

1996 Sebring MX

Founded in 1994 Sebring International based in CheltenhamGloucestershire produce a range of opentop sports cars includingthe SX TMX MXR ZX and Exalt Using fibreglass or metal bodyworkthe style is reminiscent of the classic AustinHealey 3000 sportscars produced between 1959 and 1967 The name derives from theSebring International Raceway in the USA at which AustinHealeycars were very successfulThe vendor of this Sebring MX purchased this example with hisson some years ago and being the owner of a large garage he and hisson set about improving the car Presented in metallic blue withblack interior this now represents a car that can be consideredfar better engineered than when newAlong with stripping all suspension and brakes the V8 engineand gearbox were removed and the engine was sent to Real Steelwhich resulted in amongst other things a conversion to the fourbarrel Holley The engine was stripped and heads removed and foundto be in good order but all gaskets and seals were replaced and onrecommendation from Real Steel a new up rated distributor wasfitted Due to the increased power up rated callipers and highperformance pads were also installed It was whilst working withthe brakes that the Sebring was found to have been produced withthe brake pedal and clutch too close so the vendor had thisfabricated so that a reasonable distance existed between thepedals this idea was so good and fitted so successfully thatSebring adopted this design for all future cars Suspension wasreplaced with new Coilovers and the radiator replaced with a highperformance unit along with a Kenlowe electric fan The list offurther enhancements are countless and the cost of this build wouldrun in to many more thousands but with the vendors son all grownup the car is not being used and the decision has been made topass it onWe are assured that any prospective driver would back off beforefinding the limits of this cars potential it would certainly behard to find a more exiting example of the Sebring Healey replica the question is are you brave enough to turn the key

In the early 1990s long before AMGs involvement aMercedesBenz car was made to outlive its owner with superiorengineering and build quality Turbocharger kits were offered forboth the M103 and M104 engines by Turbo Technics MosselmanTurbobandit MAD modify and LoTec who at that time wereapprovednbspturbo charger tuner for the LoTec MercedesBenz 1000C supercar project details of which can be found here httpwwwtopgearcomcarnewssupercarincredible1000bhponemercsalenbspDetails of LoTec can be found on their website wwwlotecgmbhde These conversions typically raised engineoutput to between 300 and 800 horsepower and during the 1990s UKcustomers were able to buy new vehicles equipped with a TurboTechnics conversion directly from MercedesBenz dealer Hughes ofBeaconsfield who produced a limited run of 75 conversions Todayturbocharger kits for M103M104 engines are still available fromlater tuners in Europe and AsiaThis 1992 W 124 variation was first registered in early 1993 andis accompanied by a copy of the original build sheet registered toa Mr Fritz Kellermann of Rothenburg Germany Shortly afterpurchase Mr Kellermann commissioned LoTec to fit a turbo chargerto enhance the performance along with the necessary upgrades andremapping which raised the performance of this 320 E to 340bhp at05 barnbsp It was then TÜV inspected which can be seen withinthe original TÜV report card also supplied Following the enginemodification nbspMr Kellermann took the car to the thenindependently owned AMG the AMG package includedbodynbspconfiguration and suspension upgrades AMG split rimalloy wheels and also flared arches to comfortably house the newmodificationsnbsp The car was then TÜV inspected again anddocumented Whilst these upgrades were taking place the ownerfastidiously kept up with his annual MercedesBenz main dealerservice schedule which he continued until he sold the car to hisbrother Peter Kellermann in September 1965 Peter kept the caruntil 2010 adding another three service stamps before selling to aMr Jurjew who kept the car predominantly garagednbsp Very fewmiles were then covered until its recent MercedesBenz service inMay 2015 at 78321kms which also included fitting a new stainlesssteel exhaust systemnbsp The car was then sold to the new ownerwho had the car imported to the UK where he residedThis car presents in fantastic order throughout and is offeredwith the Sportline spec which includes airconditioning sunroofelectric rear blind and the manual dogleg gearbox also found inthe 190 25 EVOII The comprehensive history file contains theoriginal build sheet and TÜV papers which detail the inspections ofboth the LoTec and AMG enhancements together with the originalstamped service booklet a current TÜV which is valid until March2017 UK registration and a current UK MoT test certificate validuntil October 2016 This represents the chance to own a rare andwell documented example of this special saloon which also benefitsfrom over 20000 worth of enhancements for which the owner hassought advice from Hughes of Beaconsfieldnbsp Hughes have alsoconfirmed that they are happy to keep servicing this car alongsidethe Turbo Technics examples in their MercedesBenz dealership Agenuinely rare Autobahn charger anyone

1973 Triumph TR6

The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 andby the time production came to an end in July 1976 it was thebestseller of the TR range The bodywork closely resembled that ofthe previous model the Triumph TR5 but the front and rear weresquared off and all TR6s featured inline sixcylinder engines Forthe US market the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst forother world markets including the UK the TR6 was fitted withfuelinjection It featured a fourspeed manual gearboxindependent rear suspension rack and pinion steering 15 wheelsand tyres pile carpet on the floors and boot bucket seats and afull complement of instruments An optional equipment overdriveunit was a desirable feature giving drivers closegearing forspirited driving whilst remaining an excellent touring car for openmotorways In total 94619 TR6s were built of which 86249 weresold overseas and only 8370 were sold in the UKThis excellent 1973 TR6 fitted with overdrive was subject to acomplete rebuild in the 1990s and has been fully maintained andlooked after since Recent works carried out include the enginebeing uprated and improved fuel injection system when the car wastested on a rolling road the reading was 180bhp The starter motorhas been replaced with a high torque starter and the suspensionbushes changed with Polly Bushes Finished in Saffron Yellow withblack roof and black interior this lovely TR6 is supplied with aV5C registration document an MoT test certificate which expires inFebruary 2017 and a file containing old MoT test certificatesinvoices going back to the 1980s photographs of the bodyrestoration and various handbooks and manuals This excellentTriumph TR6 is ready to be used and enjoyed and is a highlyattractive and wellkept example of the marque

1948 Jowett Javelin

The Bradford based company of Jowett embarked upon nbspcarmanufacture in 1906 and rapidly built up a reputation for wellengineered robust cars which were particularly notable for theirhill climbing ability and rugged qualitiesnbsp However the bestremembered nowadays are almost certainly the stylish Javelin Saloonand its sporting counterpart the Jupiternbsp The Javelin Saloonwas introduced in 1946 and is regarded today as a true milestone inoriginal car designnbsp Certainly its performance standscomparison with many 1litre cars thirty years its junior andindeed the Javelin was the best performing 1litre saloon of itsdaynbsp The horizontally opposed fourcylinder engine gave a topspeed in excess of 80mph allied to extremely good fuelconsumption with around 3032mpg being the norm The Javelin alsoachieved a number of competition successes including a class winin the 1949 Monte Carlo Rally whilst another example won thetwolitre Touring Car Class at the Spa 24Hour race in the sameyearnbsp The 1953 International Tulip Rally saw an outright winfor a privately entered Javelin nbspOriginally registered on 25th November 1948 thisJowett Javelin presents in good order throughout and is bestdescribed as a sound solid and honest example There appears to beno areas of corrosion to give cause for concern although she hasobviously had work done over the years The previous vendor keptJOH 184 in his private collection for sixteen years These slightlyquirky cars have almost an art deco styling to them and as wellas some mechanical designs that were not often seen in 1948Supplied with a V5C registration document together with theoriginal buff logbook this Jowett is currently registered as SORNA rare sight on British roads this Jowett Javelin is offered at avery tempting estimate
