Unique oil on canvas portraying or symbolizing the End of the Great War with a lion crushing a dead eagle beneath which is a tattered German flag & with allied soldiers on horseback in the background. Signed & dated 'J. F. Van Leemputten 1918 Antwerpen' LR. Also additional info to label on verso. SIZE: 40" x 30" overall 48" x 39" CONDITION: Good, moderate scratch marks, craquelure & creasing to canvas, modest paint loss. Frame shows gesso loss in places.
