Maker: Shelley Chamberlain, Kneeling wood faced fan dancer with the fan rings made out of thin balsa. The fans have fur and caribou tufting. On her head she is wearing a helmet mode of copper, with glass beads decoration She is wearing a jpurple cloth summer kuspu with a leather belt around her waist that is decorated with bone and glass beads. Her leggings re fan corduroy and leather mukluks are contrasted with rust suede. Signed on bottom of sole. 8" tall from kneeling position. Condition: Excellent Inv. #862

Maker: Amelia Kingeekuk, Siberian Yupik, Savoonga. Seal Hunter with an ivory carved face with mustache. The face and skull cap and detailed fingers on both hands are ivory. In his right had he holds an ivory club and in his left a 12" harpoon with ivory spears on each end as well as the tracking line. He is wearing a beaver parka with seal fur pants and mukluks. Around his neck is a skin pouch 2 1/4" with a thread and fishing hook inside. Condition: Excellent Features: pierced ears, but one baleen earring missing. The parka is rabbit skin and the thumb-detailed mittens are seal fur. Around his neck is a beaded necklace of seal fur as are his mukluks. The man has an ivory knife tied around his waist and is holding a baleen pole breaking ice and in his right had holding his ivory spear and in his left hand a coil of sinew. His sealskin parka has beaver ruff and rim. Over his shoulder is a sealskin pouch. His white mittens are carved ivory. He is anchored to a piece of whalebone disk. His face is detailed down to is nostrils and his open mouth displaying carved teeth. This is unique. His ivory cap tops his head and his gut skin parka is trimmed in seal fur. The pants are seal fur as well as the tops of his mukluks. Walrus gut for soles and red trimming. His under parka is fur.
