One of the oldest British motorcycle manufacturers, theBirmingham Small Arms Company began building bikes with proprietarypower as early as 1903 and by 1909 were using their own engines, starting with a 3.5hp belt-driven single. BSA went on to become oneof the most successful of all British manufacturers, both on andoff the track. A development of the successful A10, BSA's new rangeof A50 and A65 twins took advantage of unit construction tomodernise the packaging of the engine and gearbox in the late 1950sand would remain in production from 1962 until BSA finally wentunder over a decade later. The two models shared virtually allcommon parts with the 500cc A50 having a bore of 65.5mm and thelarger 650cc A65's bore 75mm. With a new frame came a new name, theso-called 'Power Egg', a reference to the design of the new unitengine and gearbox. The A65 was sold in a myriad of differentversions, including the Rocket, Thunderbolt, Lightning, Spitfire,Hornet and Firebird and was steadily improved over the years. This BSA was registered on 4th June 1970, the firstowner was Leicester & Rutland Constabulary; they subsequentlykept the motorcycle until June 1976. Royal Enfield Crusader

Lot # 104 (Sale Order: 4 of 136)

The Royal Enfield Continental was the dream bike of everylearner rider of the mid-1960s. Seen as the saviour of an ailingRoyal Enfield company from the massed hordes of Japanese andItalian lightweight. The bright red fibreglass tank,polychrome-silver frame, grey handlebar grips, hump-backed,two-tone seat and the natty fly-screen was arguably one of theprettiest production motorcycles of its day. After building theprototype, Enfield needed to out-plug the Japanese in theadvertising stakes. Honda were running full-page adverts in themotorcycle press, extolling the virtues of their high-tech machinesthat ran 'like Swiss watches'. The 250cc class was important in theUK as it was the largest engine which a learner could ride withoutpassing a test. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Royal Enfieldproduced a number of 250cc machines, including a racer, a Scramblerwith the biggest-seller being the Crusader, a 248cc pushrodoverhead valve single producing 18bhp.This excellent example of the Continental is supplied here as itwould have left Royal Enfield in 1964, finished with a black frameand red fuel tank and mud guards; this motorcycle is in goodcondition with only 67,816 miles recorded on the odometer. TheContinental is supplied with a V5C registration document and aRoyal Enfield Owners Club dating certificate, some MoT testcertificates and bills.

The AC4 was manufactured from 1928 through to 1932 and wasavailable in several body types; a saloon, convertible or a coupede ville. Porsche 911SC Targa

Lot # 107 (Sale Order: 7 of 136)

The iconic 911 can trace its history back some 44 years; itsfamily tree containing such memorable cars as the 911S, the 2.7Carrera RS and the notorious Turbo. The landmark SC replaced allnon-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims andflared wings, it was offered in either coupé or targa form. Powercame from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and afive-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to amaximum of 144mph. Ordered by Porsche cars UK in 1979 before registering new in 1980as NPW 510V, this 911SC Targa is presented in Guards Red withbiscuit leather interior. In 1995, this example was subject to atheft and, as such, classified at the time by the DVLA asstolen/recovered with the VIN plate having been removed by themiscreants. The DVLA re-issued a new VIN plate and registrationQ788 HVF. The current vendor has since obtained writtenconfirmation from Porsche UK and the DVLA that this is indeed theoriginal car VIN: 91A0131674 with the matching engine 6301552 andoriginally registered as NPW 510V. In the last 11 years, under theownership of the current vendor, much of this importantcorrespondence has been logged within the history file and can befound alongside a wealth of MoT test certificates and maintenancerecords. The current owner has maintained the car to a very goodstandard with MoT test certificate until August 2017 and the car ispresented in very good condition whilst offered, attractively, atno reserve. Do not be fooled by the odometer reading however, onany Porsche with the 2993cc engine; as with much Porscheengineering, these examples were built to last.

Mercedes-Benz S500 'ex Michael Crawford'

Lot # 108 (Sale Order: 8 of 136)

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a luxury saloon and was officiallyintroduced in 1972 succeeding previous Mercedes-Benz models datingback to the mid-1950s. As the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the S-Class has debuted many of the company's latest innovations, including drivetrain technologies, interior features and safetysystems (such as seatbelt pre-tensioners). The W220 S-Class wascompletely restyled in 1999 with a body that was slightly smallerand lighter than its predecessor. As with each new S-Class, theW220 brought in new innovations such as Airmatic air suspension andActive Ventilated Seats (which used miniature fans in the seats tomove air through perforations). Originally registered on 16th June, 2004, this S500 can only bedescribed as 'brand new'. It has only covered 17,750 miles and hasbeen, garaged, chauffeur driven and tucked away for a long time dueto the previous owner's work commitments. That previous owner isthe legendary actor, comedian and signer, Michael Crawford. Mr.Crawford best known for playing the hapless Frank Spencer in thepopular 1970s British sitcom, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (which madehim a household name) but was later famed in the title role in ThePhantom of the Opera, indeed it was this role that lead to thisimmaculate S500 as, when he left to play the title role onBroadway, it rendered his car in the UK surplus to requirements.Mr. Crawford however chose to store the car and, as such, we canoffer incredibly low mileage. The current vendor has confirmed thecar to be totally original and, to be expected, it drove with nofaults. The Tanzanite Blue paintwork does not have a mark on it andthe Dove grey interior is unblemished. The specification of an S500is comprehensive and this car is supplied with a V5 registrationdocument, a current MoT test certificate and some service historyfrom Mercedes-Benz including its most recent service in Decemberwith a main dealer. This one former keeper-example offersastonishing value for money given the cost when new.

Jaguar Mk. I Saloon

Lot # 109 (Sale Order: 9 of 136)

We are delighted to offer this 1958 Jaguar 2.4 litre Saloonthat, in today's market, is a rare sight indeed. In the late 1940sand early 1950s, Williams Lyons, Chairman of Jaguar Cars Ltd. andBill Heynes, Jaguar's Chief Engineer and designer of the iconicJaguar XK power unit, were working on the idea of a compact, unitary constructed saloon to be powered by a short-stroke versionof the six-cylinder engine. William Lyons, once again, hit themarket with the right product at the right price, the new car beingable to be purchased for under £1,300 including tax. The Jaguar'sHeritage Trust Certificate records that this Jaguar wasmanufactured on 2nd December 1958 with the colour ofMist Grey with red interior trim and was dispatched on5th December to Robb Motors, Cape Town, South Africa andsold by them to a Mr. A Barr. A well detailed history file includes the original sales invoiceand details of the five owners the Jaguar has had whilst residingin South Africa. The second owner, acquiring the Jaguar in 1966, aMrs. Margretta Cousins who bequeathed the Jaguar (and a gun), onher passing in 1997, to her son Michael Cousins. The 4thowner, having acquired the Jaguar in 2006, changed the colour fromMist Grey to Old English White.  On the 20th November 2014,John Ryall sold the car to a Mr Chris Cutler who became the 5thowner in 55 years. Mr Ryall celebrates the purchase of his newJaguar almost immediately, by purchasing a new set of tyres(including spare). Then in May 2015, re-commissioning works wereundertaken. Items such as the brakes, clutch master cylinder, propshaft, water pump, suspension bushes, new seals and washers, electric fuel pump, differential oil, full service and numerouslittle jobs were completed. With the odometer now reading 101,350miles, Mr Cutler hit the road and 250 miles later, tired ofwrestling with the heavy steering, opted to have a discreetelectric power steering system fitted. Thinking he'd reachedmotoring nirvana, Mr Ryall enjoyed a full four blissful monthsbefore his classic Jaguar 'failed to proceed'. The car wasrecovered and delivered to Steve Marsh Classic Autos to have thecylinder head reconditioned, a knock from the left front cured andsome door locks replaced. On a recent test, it was noticed just howsmooth the 2.4 litre engine actually is. Able to up with moderntraffic, the overdrive gearbox is of particular benefit and thefact that she's now knocking on the door of 59 years of age justadds to the occasion.Today, 875 UYT presents well. The attractive Old English Whitecoachwork is in good order and the contrasting red leather interioris also good whilst displaying areas of patina with sections of thefront seats having been replaced with new leather panels. Thehistory file confirms that this is a UK registered Jaguar with nopreviously recorded UK owners and with all the relevant UK importduties having been paid; also included is an original JaguarOperating, Maintenance and Service Handbook and an MoT testcertificate valid until October 2017. With the Mk. I Saloon nowbecoming quite scarce, we feel that this Jaguar is offered with avery tempting estimate, especially given today's market.

Peugeot 205 GTi Mi16

Lot # 110 (Sale Order: 10 of 136)

When the Peugeot 205 GTi was launched in 1984, it wasn't thefirst hot hatch on the block. It was following in the footsteps ofthe equally-legendary Volkswagen Golf GTi, while competition wasalso in development from Renault with its 5 GT Turbo, Ford FiestaXR2 and Escort XR3i. Early 205 GTi's had a mere 105hp which wasthen upped with the launch of the 205 GTi 1.9 litre but that wasbasically it in terms of the evolution of the 205 GTi. Some brightspark, however, noted that the engine in the 405 Mi16 boasted 160hpand began to put two and two together. It is an easy swap if youknow what you are doing and whilst values of hot 1.9 205 GTi's aresoaring, the lesser 1.6-litre is still relatively attainable and soit is these that are sought-after for modification. The weight hasnot really changed so the pick-up is still instant but now simplyexplodes towards the redline. This example has undergone extensive restoration in recentyears. Often road-weary today, a total refresh was well deserved. With the engine out, a full repaint was undertaken. The 405 unitwas then rebuilt, installed and run-in. It has now passed the 6,000mile mark since all works were completed. The interior has beenrefurbished and presents in good order throughout. Complete with ahistory file and an MoT test certificate valid until February,2018; this is the greatest GTi that never was.

Triumph Vitesse Mk. II Convertible

Lot # 111 (Sale Order: 11 of 136)

Introduced in May 1962, the Triumph Vitesse was a six-cylindersports saloon based upon the four-cylinder powered Triumph Herald.Having designed the Herald, Giovanni Michelotti made revisions tothe design evolving it into the Vitesse and resulting in theslanted 'Chinese Eye' four-headlamp design. In 1966, the original1596cc engine of the Vitesse was enlarged to 1998cc and, in 1968,the Mk. II Vitesse was introduced. Presented today is a 1969 Triumph Vitesse Mk. IIconvertible that is in the current ownership for the second time.It is important to recognise a genuine convertible as many saloonshad their roofs un-bolted without any further structural bracing, rendering then potentially dangerous. The original convertibleswere strengthened and may by identified by the CV towards the endof the chassis number. You may notice that this vehicle's chassisnumber ends with 'CVO', the 'CV', as mentioned, identifying the caras a factory convertible and the 'O' denoting that this left thefactory with an overdrive gearbox, as is currently fitted.Mechanically, the Stromberg carburettors were overhauled in 2014whilst works to the suspension were carried out about two yearsago. The soft-top is in good order with the further benefit of ahardtop also being included. A good history file includes invoices, old MoT test certificates and a workshop manual. A UK V5registration certificate and a current MoT test certificate validuntil August 2017 also reside within the file. Offered withoutreserve, this Vitesse, with its 'Historic' taxation class, represents an opportunity to acquire one of Triumph's six cylindersporting saloons that has that Italian design flair.

That Jaguar's XJS has become a 'bona fide' classic is beyonddoubt. Launched in 1975, its twenty one year production life was atestimony to the excellence of its basic design. The car wasre-engineered in 1991 with the rear side windows enlarged and a newfour litre engine. The rear section benefitted from the new'facelift' rear lights with the front as before, a series 1½ if youwill. This example is described as in good order throughout and comescomplete with an MoT test certificate valid until the end of 2017.The alloy wheels have been refurbished and re-shod with the correcttyres and it is reported to drive well. Porsche 944 Lux

Lot # 114 (Sale Order: 14 of 136)

The 944 was to feature new styling based upon the LeMans-styles-Porsche 924 Carrera GT, along with a brand-newPorsche-designed and developed 2.5 litre, four cylinder engine.Sales of the 168bhp coupé went through the roof with a massive26,800 Porsche 944s being produced by the end of 1982. To put thisfigure into context, the entire Porsche company made just 28,000cars in 1981. The new Porsche owners were attracted by the stunninglooks and presence of the model and in 1985, the 'Lux' coupéarrived with a completely new interior design dominated by asmooth, sweeping oval dashboard. This severed all ties with the 924and completed the move upmarket for the 944. The dash providedimproved ergonomics for the instruments with all useful componentsand buttons placed close at hand. With so many built, they were a familiar sight on UK roadshowever, it is fair to say that relatively few pristine examplesstill exist. This, however, represents one such manual example.Presented in Arctic White with tartan cloth 'tombstone' seating tothe interior, it is genuinely difficult to find fault with thiscar. The interior is as unused, it has clearly had 60,700 verycareful miles driven and the exterior is superb. Included in thesale is a UK V5C document, comprehensive files, papers and ownersbooks as well as an MoT test certificate valid until March, 2018.An extremely fine Porsche.

AC Cobra by Pilgrim

Lot # 116 (Sale Order: 16 of 136)

The AC marque is inextricably linked with the timelessly stylishbodies utilised by Carroll Shelby and married with 260ci and 289ciFord small block engines to produce one of the most desirable andcapable sports cars in motoring history. Light and nimble withbrutish American power under the hood, the Shelby Cobra was afearsome weapon both on the track and road. It is little surprisethat these muscular lines married to outlandish powertrains werecopied and indeed now underline a thriving industry dedicated tothe production of the AC Cobra in various guises.Pilgrim began in the late 1960's with the first few cars beingconstructed in the original owner's home garage in Sussex. Pilgrimslowly grew into the largest manufacturer of replica Cobras andSpeedsters in Europe. At its height, Pilgrim was producing ten kitsa week as well as building turnkey cars at the factory. Firstregistered in 2004 and presented on an age-related number plate, this virtually unused example has travelled an incredulous 1,073miles over the last 38 years. The basic build was undertaken by thefirst owner using a 2.3 litre Ford engine and running gear withPilgrim completing and undertaking the final 'finish'.  Thevendor acquired the car in 2011 and has used it little. Described as very good in all respects, it comes complete withracing stripes, a roll hoop as well as a number of receipts andfull MoT test certificate valid until October of this year. With agentle right foot, enormous fun is just around the corner.

TVR Cerbera Speed Six Coupé (4.0 litre)

Lot # 118 (Sale Order: 17 of 136)

The TVR name is derived from 'Cerberus', the three-headed beastof Greek legend that guarded the entrance of Hades. The car itselfwas designed from the start as a four-seater; however, the interioris designed so that the passenger seat can slide farther forwardthan the driver's seat. TVR have referred to this as a '3+1'design. Like all TVRs of the Peter Wheeler era, the Cerbera had along-travel throttle to compensate for the lack of electronictraction-control and very sharp steering. Prior to the Cerbera, TVRhad purchased V8 engines from Rover and then tuned them for theirown use. When Rover was purchased by BMW, the chairman of TVR,Peter Wheeler, didn't want to risk problems should the Germansdecide to stop manufacturing the engine. In response, he engagedthe services of race engineer, Al Melling, to design a V8 enginethat TVR could manufacture in-house and even potentially offer forsale to other car manufacturers. Wheeler also undertook the designof a Speed Six engine to complement it.We are delighted to offer this low mileage, four owner, SpeedSix Cerbera presented in Tahiti Blue with a contrasting magnoliahide interior. A good history file accompanies the car includingservicing records from 2000 to the most recent in October 2016,carried out by the renown, TVR, specialists Taylor TVR, with arecorded mileage at that time of 32,867. During the last service, the starter motor was replaced and the vendor also informs us thatthe critical valve clearances, so important for the Speed Sixengine, that they checked every 12,000 miles, have been inspectedby Taylor TVR at 32,599 miles, ahead of due the mileage, therefore,a new owner may feel confident that this important inspection hasbeen attended to. This UK registered Cerbera was first registeredon 14th July, 2000 and comes with an MoT testcertificate valid until October 2017. Also accompanying this TVR isthe leather book pack, alarm code card, two sets of keys, a SonyRadio/CD Bluetooth audio system, invoices and old MoT testcertificates. This has been in the current ownership since 2010 andhas been enjoyed with UK and Continental trips; it is presented invery good and unmodified order. With a keen estimate, we feel thatthis attractive TVR offers a great deal, especially in view ofcurrent market values.

Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster

Lot # 121 (Sale Order: 20 of 136)

The Mercedes-Benz SL has been in production since 1954 withperhaps the most influential model being the W113 Pagoda of 1963.This second generation evolved from the 230 SL to 250 SL, finallybecoming the 280 SL. The W113 was replaced by the W107 in 1971 and,as the engines became larger, the bodywork and weight of the carsalso increased, as so often happens in mid-life!  The SLimproved through the years with technical innovation but stillmanaged to keep its fundamental character and identity of anup-market, high-quality sports car.  Its reputation went fromstrength to strength and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas orDynasty in the 1980's without an SL making a star appearance. Thegenius soft-top mechanism which folds down out of sight under apanel ahead of the boot lid gave the car a beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. Of all the engine offerings the 280 remainsthe most sought after with the smaller 2.8 litre engine offeringplenty of power but with the advantage of less weight and thisimproved handling.First registered on the 1st August, 1983, this fine exampleboasts a full service history and was supplied new via EvansHalshaw in Chesham. Jowett Pick-up

Lot # 122 (Sale Order: 21 of 136)

Jowett was founded in 1901 by brothers Benjamin and WilliamJowett with Arthur V. Lamb. They started in the cycle business andwent on to make V-twin engines for driving machinery. In 1904, theybecame the Jowett Motor Manufacturing Company based inBack Burlington Street, Bradford. The production car quicklybecame popular. That year, 1919, a new works site was bought atSpringfield, Bradford Road, Idle, outside Bradford, Thereafterall Jowetts were 7hp until the introduction of the four-cylinderengine in 1936. It developed its maximum torque at low revs and wassoon famed for its pulling power, reliability and economy.Commercial vehicles based on the car chassis were also built from1922 and became an increasingly important part of the company'soutput. The first four-cylinder car arrived in 1936 with the1,166cc twin carburettor, Jowett Ten which continued until theoutbreak of war alongside the traditional twin-cylinder modelswhich grew to 946cc in 1937. In 1935 the company went public and in1936 Benjamin Jowett retired. This Jowett presents in good condition having had restorationwork carried out on her recently. However some minor issues willrequire attention as poor prevented finishing. The chassis is solidand the pick-up appears to be in a good condition mechanically, starting 'on the button' although the vendor has not used her inrecent times. The cab will need a little time and investmentalthough everything appears to be present. This righthand driveJowett is rare and with Jowett being a manufacture with a verystrong following, we expect this pick-up to create significantinterest. Lamborghini Diablo Evocation

Lot # 124 (Sale Order: 23 of 136)

The Diablo, or 'devil' in Spanish, was built between 1990 and2001; it was the first Lamborghini capable of attaining a top speedin excess of 200mph. Its power came from a 5.7 litre, 48-valveversion of the existing Lamborghini V12 featuring dual overheadcams and computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producinga maximum output of 492hp and 428 lb/ft of torque. The vehiclecould reach 62mph in about 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 202mph.It was rear wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid itsweight balance. In 1995, this model had a safety car role inFormula 1, most notably at the Canadian Grand Prix where, fortunately, it did not need to be officially deployed. Using a Pontiac Bonneville as the donor car, this LamborghiniDiablo Evocation is remarkably well built using many originalLamborghini parts including seats, lights and parts of thedashboard. The Pontiac 3.8 litre, V6 engine is coupled with anautomatic transmission thus alleviating notoriously heavy clutch. With prices for the Lamborghini Diablo on the rise, mainly becauseit is seen as the last true Lamborghini, a niche market has beencreated for those who covet the raging bull's aggressive looks andItalian flair without breaking the bank. Offered for sale with aV5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate validuntil November 2017.?
