Fine condition specimen of 1944 British sniper rifle w/ Griffin & Howe scope mounts numbered "74L0...more178" w/ Lyman Alaskan scope number "45378". Both scope rings are number "1" w/ forward ring reversed. "BNP" export markings. High profile wooden cheekpiece. Top of stock at wrist numbered "4390S" (scope just a few numbers off). "N" cartouche on top rear of buttstock w/ clear cartouche marks at wrist to rear of trigger guard. Maltese cross under forend (Weedon store mark for imported arms). Leather U.S. pattern sling. A very attractive firearm w/ this example being only 1 of 99 produced. MAGS: 1-10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather scope cover. CONDITION: very good to near excellent arsenal refinished metal parts. Near excellent original finish on scope. Scope tube has a noticeable ding 1" from forward end of objective. Lower band retained by Mauser style spring catch inletted into forend. Brass trap buttplate has short tang. Matching walnut stock set.
