This is a wonderful 5 strand necklace with a beautiful 1" square clasp. The 18K clasp has a 5.5mm ruby with 12 small rubies. The ruby color is very good with some very minor inclusions in the ruby. Total ruby weight is between .85 & .90 carat. The 5 bead strands have alternating beads of garnet, pearls, and 14K gold. There are 405 garnet beads, 405 gold beads, and 405 baroque pearl beads. This clock is an 8-day quarter hour westminster chime with a 124 series chime movement and 3 winds. When westminster chimes, 5 hammers strike 5 rods...not just your usual 3! The wood case is just gorgeous. I believe the wood is Walnut. The case is the reason I listed it's condition as very good. There are two knicks (see photos) on the "3-o-clock" side. One moonstone, diamond and silver brooch, circa 1860. There are three beautiful bezel set moonstones with a total weight of 3.85 carats. Surrounding the moonstones are 74 prong set rose cut diamonds with a total weight of 2.0 carats. The back side of the brooch is finely engraved and has a yellow gold stem. The piece measures 2 1/4"long and 7/8" wide. The workmanship is fine and the condition is excellent.
