Scrimshawed Powder Horn and Blowing Horn
Lot # 751 (Sale Order: 1 of 790)
The blowing horn shows deeply carved decoration and a scrimhawed hunting scene displaying a man on horseback following his dogs who are chasing a fox. The rider is blowing a horn and the scenery includes landscape and an old house. The horn measures approximately 15” in length.
The powder horn is approximately 10” overall including plug and shows a scene of a squirrel in the brush scrimshawed. Both horns have hide straps.
Condition: These two pieces are in overall very good condition.

Condition: Very good. Some carbon leeching on blade. Handle and pommel are loose.

Pair of Spanish Percussion Pistols
Lot # 753 (Sale Order: 3 of 790)
Condition: The stocks have been reduced to half stock from full stock most likely at the time of conversion. The metal surfaces show considerable original blue going to brownish patina with just slight erosion and minor pitting. The stocks are good to very good with very minor imperfections. The actions work well and horn tipped original to the period ramrods are included.

Condition: The metal has been polished to bright in the manner of European museums, All original flintlock parts and generally very good condition with crisp checkering on the stock. French proof on the barrel and a correct style iron ramrod included.

Condition: Good overall with smooth brown patina on the metal showing erosion and slight pitting. The wood is also good with minor imperfections and small losses. All original flintlock parts.

English Cannon-Barrel Flintlock Pistol Signed SeGlas, London

Condition: This gun is in overall fair to good condition showing a grey patina to metal surfaces of barrel and frame. Brass butt cap shows a light patina. The action needs adjustment as the hammer cocks, but does not release the folding trigger. The grips are overall good with some wire inlay missing.

Condition: This gun is in overall fair condition displaying a pleasing patina to the brass surfaces and simple engraving to the frame and triggerguard. The bore is good overall, the action is not working at time of description and the grips are overall good, but a replacement to this gun.

Condition: This gun is in overall very good condition showing a pleasing patina to the brass barrel and frame. The action is crisp, there are no markings or proofs and the bore is overall good. The grips are also good with two hairline age cracks at the top of the left side grip area.

Brass Cannon-Barrel Flintlock Pocket Pistol

Condition: This pistol is in overall fair + condition showing a deep taffy-colored patina to brass components. Good bore and good action. The hammer, however, is missing its top jaw and screw. The frizzen is loose as is the safety sliding bar. The grips are overall good and also show a pleasing patina.
A nice cannon barrel pocket pistol that would improve with a little restoration.

Condition: Some rust and pitting on the metal and minor distress to wood. Would clean up nicely.

American Flintlock Fowler
Lot # 767 (Sale Order: 17 of 790)
Condition: The metal surfaces show a dark patina with light to slightly heavy pitting. One brass escutcheon is missing around one of the two lock screws. There are a couple of major cracks at the wrist and by the lockplate with some losses of wood at the top edge of the stock by the front lock. Working and fair to good overall. This rifle could have been used as a militia arm in New England from the Revolutionary War to Federal era.

Flintlock Rifle

Condition: This long-barreled flintlock rifle is in overall very good condition displaying a pleasing brown patina on metal surfaces. There are no visible maker marks on the barrel or lockplate. The bore is strongly rifled, the action is crisp and the wood stock is very good with scattered old mars and scratches from years of carry and storage. Wood ramrod appears to be a later replacement.

Condition: Dark patina on the barrel and lock with minor rust and erosion. The stock shows a small loss at the toe and some other minor imperfections. Good to very good overall. The lock needs repair but all original small parts.

British Brown Bess Flintlock Rifle
Lot # 770 (Sale Order: 20 of 790)
Condition: This rifle is in overall fair condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces with scattered moderate erosion. The action is in the cocked position with trigger not currently able to release the hammer. The top jaw and screw of the hammer are loose but present. The wood stock shows "o 1152" stamped on the right rear of the buttstock with no buttplate. There are several areas of repaired damage and a couple spots where old filler was used including a large area on the right fore-stock.

Condition: Fair to good. Metal finish turning brown in spots, overall light pitting on the barrel. Stock has patch repair on the forearm, cracks behind the lock, some putty filling near the breech, heavy nicks on the wrist and buttstock.

French Napoleonic Model 1777 Flintlock Rifle
Lot # 772 (Sale Order: 22 of 790)
Condition: This classic French military longarm is in overall good to very good condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces that display scattered pinprick pitting, crisp action, dark bore and "01810" on the left side of the barrel at the breech followed by a script "B." Overall good wood stock with a stamped "E" on the right side of the butt stock and a carved "O" on the left side. Behind the rear triggerguard tang are several old mars and what appears to be a partial old "S" on the underside of stock in front of the triggerguard.

Condition: Good. Bore poor, iron dark with light surface oxidation. Hammer does not function properly. Normal age and service wear.

Half-Stock Kentucky Flintlock Rifle

Condition: Bore is pitted. Slight pitting to lock plate extending to the barrel near the flash pan. Barrel with rich plum to brown patina. The stock is cracked slightly near the upper tang and lockplate.

Spanish Military Flintlock Musket

Condition: Good to very good original condition. Some minor pitting and erosion with normal aging to the wood showing small losses and minor imperfections. A Spanish colonial era piece that may have come to the Americas when the Spanish manned forts and missions across the American South West and Texas.
