Palace Theatre Show Poster San Francisco 1970
Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 327)
Offered is another seldom found poster. It is for the Midnight Films held at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco (located at Columbus and Powell). These shows started as some of the promoter's favorite little known, cult, and bizarre films. The showings eventually became just as famous for the audiences they attracted as for the unusual films that drew them. Unique to these events were the wild and bejeweled nature of the generally unruly audiences. The artwork was by Bay Area artist Steven Arnold, who created graphic art for local San Francisco performance venues and boutiques. This poster is from October 1970 and is 22" x 17" on thin paper stock. This is original and has condition issues such as tears, stains, edge damage, and paper loss

Spring Vacation The Rubberband 1967 Handbill
Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 16 of 327)
Here is an original 8 1/2" x 11" green variant handbill promoting a week of rock & roll entertainment with the U.S. Cadenza and Rubberband at the Caffé Espresso in Portland, Oregon. While the Rubberband were returning for an encore performance after their well-received February debut, it was business as usual for the U.S. Cadenza who was becoming a mainstay of the Portland coffeehouse scene. This handbill is in Good overall condition, showing wear from folding, tape residue, and general handling. The Caffe Espresso handbills are very difficult to find and nice examples of Portland's psychedelic era.
