1971 DODGE CHALLENGER R/T

Lot # 933 (Sale Order: 9 of 335)

This car underwent two-and-a-half-year meticulous rotisserie restoration. Almost $120000 was spent restoring this car to its original showroom condition. It is currently sporting TTI headers and exhaust system and an Edelbrock Performer RPM carburetor and intake manifold. All the original manifolds are shrink-wrapped and included with the car as is the original Carter Thermoquad carburetor. The car was well-equipped and sports two Fender Tags. The current owner changed the color from Tawny Gold (GY9) to Tor-Red (EV2) and added a vinyl top. For novelty reasons only a new set of Fender Tags was produced that indicate these two changes (original tags are available with the car). Other than the color and top the rest of the options listed on the tags are there and are restored originals NOS or high-quality replicas. No expense was spared. It was a very detailed and quality restoration. All major components including the engine transmission rear and body are matching-numbers.

1967 FORD FAIRLANE CUSTOM COUPE

Lot # 944 (Sale Order: 18 of 335)

Hubert Platts last project car a documented re-creation of his 1967 NHRA-winning car is called Georgia Shaker. The original 1967 Paul Harvey Ford Fairlane set an NHRA record on July 2 1967. Hubert wanted this race car to be built using as many authentic old racing parts as possible. He procured the 427 engine from Jake Lowe a former racing adversary. The hood was purchased from Tom Hardy Huberts friend. The engine is a true 427 late-1966 side-oiler with dual Holley carbs pushing the power through a Ford Toploader manual 4-speed coupled to the engine through an Ansen bellhousing. The dual Holley carburetors came from his racing buddy Mike Thomas. Some driveline items came from Jackie Jones such as the Holley electric fuel pumps Ansen bellhousing gauges shifter and body trim. The rear-end sports a Ford 9 and Detroit locker with big 11 brakes. Hubert put his last remaining days and heart into this car. He autographed the glove box door and signed the build documents. While building the car an autographed original photo of this car was found on eBay with Huberts famous autograph and it goes with the car. Hubert wanted the car to look like it was raced last weekend and specified it was not to be built with all-new parts. The car was lettered by Larry West the original man who lettered some of his cars back in the day. The roll bar was installed the same way as back then. Hubert provided an original battery cable (welding wire) from one of his wrecked cars. He even checked and rebuilt the Holley carbs when they were put on they were correct and needed no adjustments. Some of the items included with the car are the log book original signed photo of the car all-original build documents his original Georgia license plate with his race car drivers license number on it a signed t-shirt and a photo album of the car in progress.
