1968 SHELBY GT500KR CONVERTIBLE

Lot # 1338 (Sale Order: 126 of 248)

This is a genuine Shelby 1968 GT500KR convertible with 4-speed manual transmission 10-spoke wheels and tilt steering. This is a very fine example of a restored KR. It has a documented history and is listed in the Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) registry the authority on Shelby automobiles. This car began life in Lime Green and was painted red when restored. The restoration was completed by Kar Kraft the shop that worked on many Shelbys under contract from Ford. A copy of the registration shows that it was registered at the time to Susan Minch wife of Scott Minch owner of Kar Kraft. It was subsequently owned by a state representative of the SAAC. The car was restored with many re-creations of factory touches such as paint approval stamps. The Shelby has won many awards including the Lew Spencer from SAAC 33 and a Senior Award from the American Automobile Club of America. The date codes reveal that all of the components are date-correct and the drivetrain is original.

1969 DODGE CHARGER 500

Lot # 1339 (Sale Order: 127 of 248)

With minimal ownership and the original matching-numbers HEMI driveline this Charger 500 has had a comprehensive restoration and a proven Mr. Norms Grand-Spaulding Dodge pedigree. These cars were produced from standard Charger R/Ts by Chrysler using a subcontractor. By adding a flush grille and rear window the hope was to make the cars more manageable at speed but this change required a minimum of 500 street examples be created to legalize the new parts. As a result Grand-Spaulding Dodge in Chicago took delivery of this T5 Copper-painted model with black wraparound Scat stripe and powered by a 426ci HEMI. The original engine is still in this 14523 original-mile vehicle backed by the A727 automatic and Super Track Pak 4.10:1 rear gearing. The only significant changes from stock are the headers installed by Mr. Norms mechanics before the first owner took possession. The car has been more recently subject to a comprehensive restoration. Sporting bucket seats and console HEMI-mandated power steering and brakes and riding on 15 wheels with dog-dish hubcaps the car has stunning curbside appeal inside and out. Two Broadcast Sheets are just the start of the comprehensive paper preserved for this car by only three owners over the last 45 years. The original Chrysler-to-Mr. Norms invoice Day 2 sales invoice from Mr. Norms Window Sticker Bill of Sale Illinois legal paperwork - including title application and more - included as well as a set of period drag slicks and racing photos. A complete Dave Wise vehicle inspection report is also included in this sale authenticating the original born with motor and transmission and all paperwork.

1957 CADILLAC ELDORADO BIARRITZ CONVERTIBLE

Lot # 1340 (Sale Order: 129 of 248)

The Eldorado Biarritz is one of only 1800 produced by Cadillac. The coach-crafted body by Fisher with the revised X-frame architecture allowed for the convertible to be stretched to 222 making it a true 6-passenger convertible. This Biarritz is fully equipped including rare factory air conditioning automatic transmission and a hard parade boot. The 129 wheelbase Cadillac rolls on Sabre wheels as well. Although this restoration was done over 13 years ago it has remained in excellent condition and more importantly in great driving condition. 1957 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE CONVERTIBLE

Lot # 1341 (Sale Order: 130 of 248)

This is one of only 630 fuel-injected convertibles offered by Pontiac to the 630 U.S. dealers in 1957 the year Bunkie Knudsen became president of the new GM at Pontiac. He hired John DeLorean and Pete Estes in a move that would mean great things for the Pontiac Division in years to come. The new Strato-Streak V8 engine was introduced and enlarged for the Bonneville to 347ci. Then for extra horsepower a Rochester fuel-injection system was added to the package. Pontiac never published the horsepower rating but it was said to develop 315hp. The huge convertible did 0-60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Unfortunately only 630 were built so few drivers experienced this top-of-the-line Bonneville. The cars were only available in white with blue or red inserts matching the interiors and the convertible tops. This beauty is Kenya White with Fontaine Blue inserts and a Sky Blue convertible top. To complete the package all of the convertibles were fully equipped with power steering and brakes power windows power top and signal-seeking radio. GM optional skirts were added to this beauty. This car has benefited from a body-off restoration over 10 years ago and still shows extremely well testifying to the quality of the work done. The mechanical systems perform as would be expected in a complete restoration. Automatic transmission.

1989 PONTIAC TRANS AM SKOAL BANDIT FUNNY CAR

Lot # 1346 (Sale Order: 135 of 248)

Winner of the 1989 NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis and a Bud Shootout Champion this is the last funny car drag racing superstar Don The Snake Prudhomme drove in his career before returning to the Top Fuel ranks in 1990. Prudhomme drove the car to a 5.17-second run and a new NHRA record in the process of winning the Budweiser-sponsored Bud Shootout at Indianapolis where it also won the Funny Car Eliminator at the U.S. Nationals on the same weekend. The Snake describes the Skoal Tobacco- and Pontiac-sponsored flopper as an unbelievably quick car noting that the team spent a great deal of time in Pontiac Divisions wind tunnel facility refining the shape of the body to direct air flow toward the engines air injector scoop and to produce extra downforce at the rear. The latter feature attracted the attention of NHRA officials who promptly outlawed it after the U.S. Nationals. The car is powered by a supercharged nitro-burning aluminum block HEMI engine with fuel injection Mallor twin magneto ignition and overdrive transmission; it utilized a tube frame with solid-mounted front and rear suspension and a 12-gallon fuel tank and rolls on Goodyear Racing rubber surrounding Cragar wheels. This was the first NHRA funny car to break into the teens with 5.193 seconds/265.8 mph in Houston on March 2 1989 and still festooned in its original Skoal Tobacco livery is ready to run. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY**

2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA SS SKOAL FUNNY CAR

Lot # 1346.1 (Sale Order: 136 of 248)

This original as-ran funny car holds the significant distinction as the last funny car to be campaigned by legendary drag racer and team owner Don The Snake Prudhomme. Driven by Snake Racing driver Tommy Johnson Jr. in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) competition during the 2007 season the Impala was the last race car in professional motorsports to feature Skoal-branded tobacco sponsorship. Snake Racings relationship with U.S. Tobacco Company was one of the most successful and lengthy marketing partnerships in motorsports history spanning 23 years. Chevrolet as a manufacturer strategically selected Snake Racing as the team of choice to help debut the first-ever Chevy Impala SS body which first took to the drag strip at the 2007 NHRA Winternationals at Pomona California. Later that season the Impala would record two No. 1 qualifier efforts (Englishtown New Jersey and Richmond Virginia) and race to the winners circle at the historic NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown. The Impala paired with Prudhommes Top Fuel dragster were both category winners of the SuperNationals and marked the fourth time that Snake Racing recorded an elusive double-up victory. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY**

1923 MERCER SERIES 6 SPORTING

Lot # 1360 (Sale Order: 145 of 248)

With the exception of a stillborn 1931 prototype the Series 6 represents the final Mercer model and with it the end of one of the greatest names in early American motoring. It was produced during the famous Trenton NJ manufacturers final three years during which time Mercer had been saved from Hare Motors an ill-fated attempt at an East Coast GM competitor by former employees among them John Kuser a member of one of the wealthy Trenton families that had established Mercer in 1910. As its name suggested the Series 6 was both a successor to the previous Series 5?famously powered by Eric Dellings robust L-head four?and also Mercers first 6-cylinder automobile with an engine by Rochester and manual transmission by Brown & Lipe. It was a fine powerful sporting automobile true to Mercer tradition but by this time there was little money to build it and few customers to buy it. Series 6 production began in July 1923 and stopped in March 1924; it picked up again in early 1925 and finished that June with only 153 produced in total. This car chassis number 20239 is a Sporting which is essentially a four-passenger version of the famous Raceabout. It features similarly distinctive styling including leather door saddles and dual cockpits for the driver his copilot and two passengers aft. The overall impression for both driver and passengers is of riding in a vintage biplane which was undoubtedly Mercers intention. Records on file from Stan Smith the historian for Mercer Associates record the earliest known owner of this Series 6 as having been a Mr. Stiritz. It was eventually acquired by Harrahs Automobile Collection of Sparks NV. The car was acquired from Harrahs in 1986 by the late Joe Loecy of Cleveland OH a legendary figure in Brass-era automobile circles. It next passed to Alfred Ferrara of Gates Mills OH. Today the Series 6 still wears its fine restoration from the late 1980s with the body finished in pale blue over very smooth panels and black fenders. The maroon leather interior is still in very good condition as are the leather door panels and saddles the wooden trim the dashboard and the floorboards. The level of detail throughout is impressive extending to a correct Mercer-badged Boyce MotoMeter atop the radiator and proper Mercer-badged Rudge-Whitworth wire wheels finished in a dramatic red including the dual rear-mounted spares. The firewall rear frame rail and engine are all stamped with correct numbers in the proper locations. Under the hood is similarly clean and properly finished with correct accessories and firewall wiring and it shows only minor signs of age and wear. Manual transmission.

Lot # 1363 (Sale Order: 148 of 248)

Five fuel-injected Z06 Big Tank Corvettes were GM-assigned to legendary racer and team manager Mickey Thompson during 1962. Researched confirmed and documented by Corvette expert David Burroughs Prove It service this vehicle was the personal driver of Mickey Thompson. Extremely rare this is one of 63 N03 Big Tank 1963 Corvette Sting Ray coupes with RPO Z06 racing option. Restored and presented in period appearance including lettering and Rader wheels. RPO Z06 Special Equipment Package based on fully independent underpinnings the new Vette formed an outstanding basis for the race-bred RPO Z06 enhancements including a thicker front stabilizer bar larger diameter shock absorbers and higher rate springs. Braking was improved with greater fade resistance from sintered metallic brake linings while a dual-circuit master cylinder and vacuum booster enhanced safety and reduced pedal effort. Priced at $1818 RPO Z06 cost nearly half as much as the basic Corvette coupe. The large capacity RPO N03 fiberglass 36-gallon fuel tank was tailor-made for endurance races to reduce the need for frequent pit stops. Just 63 Corvettes were so-equipped. Corvettes equipped with RPO Z06 were only available with RPO L84 327ci V8 with 360 rated horsepower courtesy of sophisticated Rochester mechanical fuel-injection 11.0:1 compression free-breathing cylinder heads low-restriction exhaust and a hot solid-lifter camshaft. A Muncie M20 4-speed transmission and posi-traction limited-slip rear end were mandatory options with RPO Z06. To reduce unnecessary weight some Z06 Corvettes left the St. Louis factory with their radios deleted. All told 2610 Corvettes were equipped with the RPO L84 Fuelie engine for 1963. Just 199 were equipped with the RPO Z06 Special Performance Equipment package and only 63 were specified with the RPO N03 36-gallon long range fuel tank. This 1963 split-window Corvette coupe is one of those precious few and it is even more special with confirmed and documented provenance as the daily driver of Corvette racing team owner Mickey Thompson.

1965 SHELBY GT350 FASTBACK

Lot # 1365 (Sale Order: 150 of 248)

This exceptional GT350 is presented with no missing or altered components from its build with all of the rare Shelby unique parts from 1965 intact. Also of great importance is the rust- and damage-free original body shell that displays all of the Shelby American modifications performed in just that one year of 1965. Historical research along with supporting documentation reveals that SFM5S219 was completed at Shelby American Inc. in May 1965 and immediately shipped to Herb Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake MN for retail sale. This was always a well-kept unmodified car but a previous owner undertook a very comprehensive restoration in the late 1990s returning the car both cosmetically and mechanically to like-new. An earlier owner also procured a complete Paxton Supercharger conversion direct from Shelby American to be fitted to the original motor. This Paxton is the real deal and extremely rare a specialized unit built exclusively for Shelby to be upfitted to 289 Cobras and GT350 Shelby Mustangs. This outstanding GT350 has had a careful few miles since restoration but is completely sorted to deliver a driving experience no different than it did in 1965. Just in the last months of 2016 the car underwent a very thorough service including the fitment of five new correct Goodyear Blue Dot tires. At the same time a freshening of the cosmetic restoration was performed to achieve the concours-level presentation on this car. 4-speed manual transmission. **TITLED AS A 1965 FORD**
